Stopped here as we were walking the boardwalk. I got a cone and my wife got a bowl with hot fudge. We ordered and got our ice cream really quick. We found a bench and enjoyed our ice cream. It was really good. I went with the vanilla/chocolate twist with chocolate sprinkles. I highly recommend!
Their soft serve has the perfect consistency of creaminess. I got the chocolate froyo as a sundae. & friend got the swirl.
Great ice cream shop with a lot of variety. Lines can get long but they are fast. Great coffee ice cream and they have gluten-free sugar cones!
Pretty long line, that moves fast though. But expected as everyone's looking for a cool sweet treat after a hot day at the beach. My go to is their coffee ice cream which is amazingg. Portions are generous. Do not recommend getting any of the vegan ice creams if you are not under dietary restrictions. It's not worth it, the flavor profile of those was honestly gross and the syrup from the ice cream separated out.
We love Marvel but lately, the ice cream is not up to par. Specifically the size. I paid $8.50 for this. It's so small. The girl serving it was nasty & rolled her eyes at me when I asked her to charge me for a medium because it was so small. You will lose business Marvel if you keep this up.
A must for walking down the boardwalk - delicious soft serve that hits the spot on a hot day. The staff were friendly and quick, and the ice cream hit all the right notes.
Fast service and ice cream is really good. A small vanilla cup is $6 and a large milkshake is $8.50 Nice place to stop by if you are waiting for the 5pm free beach entry.
Great ice cream. Pretty long line any time of day- obviously everyone wants ice cream at the boardwalk so it's pretty hard to get around that.
I'm going to attempt to make this a super fast review because there's not much to say here. It's Marvel. Done. Okay, maybe not that fast because I should mention that this is in fact the good ol' Marvel you know and love to devour after a day at the beach. Except it's not the location along Lido Blvd that often gives you a pound of anxiety trying to park in their busy lot before finally getting your frozen sweet treat. Instead, this second Marvel spot is snuggled into the Long Beach Boardwalk and honestly it feels like it's always been there. A vintage ice cream shoppe-look from the outside with the same setup of window ordering found at the OG storefront. What's also the same is the quality and deliciousness you get with each cup or cone of Marvel. My trip to this beachy location actually came on Father's Day where I indulged in a chocolate vanilla swirl dipped in a peanut butter bonnet. Even on a not-so-hot day that didn't actually involve basking on the beach, this cone of tastiness still hit the spot, as it always does. Overall, you can't go wrong with Marvel no matter which location you choose to visit. Though to be honest, perhaps this Long Beach Boardwalk setup is just a little more inviting when you can grab your ice cream right off of the beach, turn around, and stare out into the ocean. Well, maybe this wasn't as quick of a review as I intended, but it still got to the (eventual) point that Marvel is the best.
July 9, 2024 - Honestly the ice cream was nice. But the customer service was lacking so much. The girl serving us seemed like she didn't want to be there. Not a smile or any help with the order and it's not like anyone was in line after me. She straight up was just an unpleasant person. Compared to her coworker who was helping a family beside me. That girl was so friendly and patient with the family. I just thought maybe because of the weather or maybe she was just tired. But anyhow we enjoyed the ice cream. Won't be going back, not even in dream.
First time here and wow!!! Their soft serve was sooooo good! I don't know how else to describe it, but the soft serves felt like it had so much more flavor than other soft serves I've had. Soft serve is my favorite type of icecream! I got the pistachio with rainbow sprinkles and my son got the cherry dip vanilla. Behind the counter working were young adults probably in their late teens? They were super friendly and nice, i even took a bit of time bevause my 3 year old didn't know what he wanted and they were super patient! My son loved the icecream just as much as I did & he keeps asking to go back! I love that this place is on the boardwalk, cause eating icecream on the boardwalk?!! What beats that!

Got the pistachio/ strawberry swirl with sprinkles. $7 cash. Card was more. It was good but I thought it was expensive for the portion size. Girl at the counter was pleasant. They also have a bathroom right around the corner. read more

Truly the softest of soft serves. I got the classic vanilla with rainbow sprinkles and it was absolutely delicious. They have a few tables on their deck but since it's conveniently located right on Long Beach boardwalk you can easily grab and go. My only recommendation is that you get a cup along with your cone because this ice cream will definitely melt faster than you can lick. read more

Since 1951, so they must be doing something right . The place had a nonstop steady stream of customers and everybody seemed happy to exchange their fist for cold ice cream on a hot day. Ordered a small coffee ice cream with peanut butter bonnet myself for $6 . This might look like a bargain in a few years if this inflation keeps up. Crazy times in America. read more

Marvel's ice cream is soft and delicious! I've been to both locations and wasn't disappointed. Over the summer I really enjoyed their pistachio and strawberry swirl at their beachfront outpost. The staff is nice enough. There no real "ambience" since they're an outdoor establishment- order your ice cream and go. You won't be disappointed! read more

After a fun walk by the beach, my partner and I got the pistachio with a mix in a waffle cone for about $8. The pistachio soft serve had a pleasant artificial pistachio flavor and the mix topping added a nice texture. The waffle cone waffle cone was crispy and held the ice cream well. A nice summer treat! read more
After a long weekend at the beach, we decided to get a Sunday night treat. We came here based on family recommendation. Nice little spot right on the boardwalk. It says since 1951. I don't know that is the company or this location. There was a big line, but it moved surprisingly quick. $17 for four people to have ice cream was a nice treat. I got a vanilla cup with hot fudge. Pretty basic, but delicious. Very creamy and sweet. The hot fudge melted it just enough to make a nice mixture on the outside. We enjoyed our treats on the benches not far from Marvel. Will definitely be returning on my next trip to Long Beach. read more
New branch of the Marvel that has been around since 1951. Lots of flavors to choose from. They have soft serve, dipped cones, sundaes, floats, slushies, egg creams. Their vanilla soft serve with crunchies is my favorite. $5.50 for a medium and they are very generous with their sprinkles. I made the mistake of getting it in a cone my first time, and it melted immediately! Fast moving lines, friendly staff, great soft serve! read more
I've been coming to marvel for years in Long Beach with my parents ... I was so happy to see they now have these sweet frozen treats right on the boardwalk! Perfect location, truly. I'm sure they're busy constantly. The line was very long when we rolled up but it went quick! Tastes just like how I remember.. went with a fro yo combo of pb n banana which did not disappoint. My guy got the strawberry and pistachio swirl, I was jealous. LOL. Find your shady spot and take down that cone before the sun does! read more

Very traditional soft serving ice cream. It was very soft and melted very quickly. The taste had a strong flavor of strawberry but still kept creamy. Overall good soft serve ice cream. I really hope they could provide more flavors to customers. read more
