Always friendly. Always delicious. Born and raised in NYC, I am now a resident of Florida. I visit NY once or twice a year. Each time I save my 2 large carryon bags to fill up with treats from Agrigento Bakery. I drove one hour each way on the day of my departure flight to get some fresh goodness, the likes of which cannot be found anywhere near where I live. I bought meat bread, rolls, a semolina loaf, Italian cheesecake, several different items with cannoli cream, napoleons, and an array of various cookies including elephant ears. When I got back to Florida, I felt like I brought my heritage back home. I froze a few items and am slowly nursing the rest but not doing such a great job. Somehow, quite a bit has already disappeared! I put this bakery stop on my "must do" list whenever I go back to NY. Once you try them, you'll put them on your list too. read more

There was just one bread left when I got there on Friday after work, so obviously people love the breads here, and as I found out for good reason-the Bread here WAS very good and fresh! the lobster tail filled with light cream WAS great. But the cookies are just not up to par at all, and Black and white cookies particularly disappointing and linzer tart also possibly stale. Since I'm more prone to grabbing cookies than anything else at bakeries i will probably only come back here when I want a great bread. read more

Unfortunately my dessert experience on Father's Day was a disappointment. While I ordered near $100 in assorted cookies, cannolis, cheesecake and biscotti...each item I along with my guests tasted was stale and dry . It was an embarrassment to bring these items to my family's home...I was better off buying desserts from Costco. This was not my first rodeo with this bakery...I was disappointed before but and more so yesterday...every establishment deserves another try. Let's just say that this bakery is officially off my list! read more

Their sfogliatelle is the star of the show. And if you get them warm, that's a huge bonus. That's why I'll be standing in a long line tomorrow morning at 8 in frigid weather to get these to bring to Christmas Eve dinner. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT I wasn't given my receipt until I asked for it. When I examined the receipt at home, I saw that I was charged a 4% service fee for using a credit card. I didn't see the credit card charge posted in the store or on their website. Very sneaky. read more

For those who are looking for an Italian bakery like they remember run to Agrigento. All their cookies, cakes, pastries etc... are as I remember as a child. It is wonderful having a local bakery must like those of my childhood visiting family in Brooklyn and Queens. A true Italian bakery in our corner of the world. They have been wonderful too during CoronaVirus allowing for curbside pickup while following guidelines. Thank you! read more

Always a hit. If you're planning a party or going to a large gathering pick up the large cannoli. It's a large cannoli shell, Filled with cannoli cream and small shells around it where you can fill them on your own. Awful! I should have stopped at Seven Eleven instead. Hostess blows this place out of the water. What did they sell me? A 13 dollar box of STALE mass produced garbage! This is NY. There are no shortages of bakeries. You want an excellent Italian Bakery- try Lulu's at 185 Union Turnpike in Queens. read more

Occasionally my son would come with me to get a muffin and sometimes a nice lady there would give me the muffin in the place of the free coffees. Today I asked for that for the first time ever and instead giving me the $4 muffin instead of $6 worth of coffee they refused and said they will not do that anymore. I understand that no business is obligated to give you anything for "free" but when you have loyal customers that spend thousands of dollars at premium coffee prices, policies like that make no sense. The bean prices there are bordering on unaffordable and we patronized the business anyway to support a local business. I will no longer be buying coffee from them, but I still wish them the best.

Finally, I stopped by to see what all the hype is about and this is a great bakery. I picked up a few pastries here-apple turnover, cherry crumble pastry, cheese puff and a pound of the rainbow cookies, all were fresh and delicious, the owners are present at the shop on a daily basis and truly care about quality. This is an old-school place. I will be back. read more
