The layer cake was surprisingly light in texture and everyone loved it. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

My son's father's girlfriend (I know, like Hollywood, lol!) lives here and my guys are up there often, especially over the summer. Good for them! He came home with leftover birthday cake from Country Boy. I was underwhelmed. It looked incredible with rich chocolate icing, but you can't always go by that, of course. The cake itself was decent - nothing to write home about, and it tasted stale after one measly day. Sandwiched between the chocolate layer and vanilla layer was whipped cream - hard pass for me. Horrible experience. I picked up a chocolate babka to serve to my family. It was so stale...absolutely inedible. $14 in the garbage. Their only job is to sell fresh baked goods and clearly they can't do that. This was not the first time they sold me stale items. I won't be going back..... ever. read more

Nice little bakery located in Long Beach. Plenty of parking in the lot. Just be careful crossing the street. Kosher certified. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We got a few different items to try. I loved the rainbow cookie. Very good marzipan, very sweet jelly in between the marzipan. The black and white cookie was very fresh. You can tell the difference between the fresh and the packaged cookies that are in most stores. Definitely worth the trip. read more

The counter people are very nice. Prices have gone way up. Some of the items are very good and some are not that great. The last time I got the chocolate raspberry cake it was way too sweet I like their almond horseshoes and Russian tea biscuits. I recently got a muffin and it was too dry, just crumbled. This store is still standing while everything else in LB is closing. To be honest, I don't know why people keep going there. It is not a good bakery. The place looks dirty and not cleaned on a daily. I've never been so repulsed in my entire life. Purchased several baked goods including, a crumb cake, apple turnovers and a raisin bun on a Friday evening. The next day (Saturday) the raisin bun was extremely stale and the crumb cake, dry. The next day, (less than 48 hours from purchase) I decided to cut open one of the apple turnovers. By the grace of god, I cut into this pastry rather than just biting into it. It was riddled with what appears to be weeks worth of mold, my skin started to crawl. This will absolutely be the last time I (and my family members) return, because this is more than an oversight. read more

i'm always disturbed when an establishment closes before it's advertised time. I tried calling several times before getting there tonight and also arrived a couple of minutes before six. Everyone was still behind the counter and the sign was still illuminated open, but when I knocked on the door, the young lady behind the counter looked at the clock and motioned they were closed. I know everyone wants to get home especially before a holiday but some people do work later and should be able to get what they need. read more

I really love this bakery. I worked in a jewish bakery as a teenager on Long Island in the 60's. When I visit family in Pt. Lookout now this bakery is on my visit list. This bakery reminds me of the bakery I worked in, this is what I miss about living in the South now, no NY bakeries. My only wish is that you shipped out of state, if so I would be ordering all the time, and would be packing on the wt. I would definitely risk the wt. gain, love the rye bread and cookies by the pound. A former New Yorker and missing these delicious bakeries. read more

I really like this place. I Found it really disturbing on a recent visit to see both counter ladies eating snacks, and having to be asked to wash their hands before serving me -in the middle of a pandemic. Pandemic or not, don't be putting your fingers in your mouth, and then mindlessly go to serve a customer :( read more

Awesome! Got a cake for my birthday. I just wanted a HBD with my name spelled correctly. On the decoration I suggested a few flowers and perhaps something "beachy" would be nice, since I just moved to LB. I was blown away by what they did and how pretty this came out! Got so many compliments on this cake. It was absolutely delicious. I went with vanilla cake and fudge inside and choc buttercream outside. They require just 24 hour notice to order a cake. I gave one star for their rainbow cookies. I've been coming to this bakery for 13 years on and off hoping they would change their ways. Not a chance. During the pandemic they weren't wearing masks and if they were, it was below the nose. I read the reviews given over the years and many say they are not clean. I don't know about that because I can't really see behind the counter or in the back. I can tell you that the girls behind the counter are rude and not helpful and act like they are doing the customer a favor. It's been that way from the very first day I went in there. Of the owner wants to serve this community well, they should ensure their workers know how to serve the public. I'm going to shop somewhere else from this day on. read more

Trader Joe's was out of Challah so we decided to pick it up from our local bakery. BIG MISTAKE! Kosher, LOL. Country Boy Challah bread is the worst I have ever tasted. I'm not even sure how you can mess that up up? $7.50 for a loaf of compressed egg crap, waste of money. read more
