For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

So many quality ingredients for the price. I also got their sweet biscuit and you can taste that everything is homemade. We also got their biscuit smothered in gravy. The biscuit was also homemade. Everything was amazing here and I can't recommend this place enough. Also, the bar looks amazing with lots of drink specials. They do add an 18% gratuity in all checks. This would normally be a problem for me as service is hot and miss at some places. But, the device was amazing and every one of the servers help out and take care of the patrons.
