Our waitress lacked any enthusiasm, left our waters empty and didn't come back for over 15 minutes after dropping off the food. If the food was poor, I would've easily rated this place lower, but the FOOD was great. The poor service brought down the energy and atmosphere of the place and my partner and I wanted to leave much sooner than we could. Our waitress genuinely looked offended when I asked for our check and a box and skipped over our table multiple times when doing her rounds. (I don't even know her name, but she's young, has short blonde hair and a cross tattoo on her wrist.) Frothy monkey is my favorite place for a salmon salad, oddly enough. Do I have a picture of it? No. But trust me on this. I only started eating seafood three years ago and I get weird about cooked fish- I don't like that it's flaky when you cook it. That's nefarious. The salmon here is like... pressed? As they cook it? Which results in firmer flesh! It's almost chicken like texture and for me it is a great thing. But still very yummy flavor and juicy. I recommended frothy monkey to a friend who is a self appointed salmon expert and he said it was a top 3 salmon salad for him. Also they have coffee and fun pastries. After I got my IUD in I treated myself to a chocolate croissant from here and let me tell you it totally helped the fact that my body was violently rejecting a foreign implant. I've been a regular at Frothy Monkey for years, but my experience today was incredibly disappointing. I ordered an 8 oz steamed milk for my one-year-old baby and was charged $4. After waiting quite a while (which is typical at FM), the barista handed me the milk. When I poured it into my baby's bottle--with clear measurement markings--it only filled 4 oz. When I asked about it, the barista told me "that's our 8 oz." That explanation made no sense as I was looking at the clear marking that showed a 4 oz. pour, so I asked to speak with a manager. The "manager" came over and repeated the same explanation. I clarified that my concern was very simple: I paid for 8 oz of milk but only received 4 oz. His solution was to queue up another "8 oz" cup of milk and would make it quickly, which I initially agreed to, thinking he was going to right the wrong. However, when then rang it up and asked me for another $4. At that point I declined and left. By then my wait time had essentially tripled, my baby was crying, and it felt like I was being charged twice just to receive the amount of milk I originally paid for. I understand cafés get busy and mistakes happen. But insisting that 4 oz equals 8 oz--and then asking customers to pay again to make up the difference--feels like a blatant rip-off. If this is how portions are being represented, customers should be aware of what they're actually getting. Customers are being overcharged for half portions! read more

This was SUCH a great spot. Although I didn't stay to sit and dine, I ordered an absolutely delicious coffee up at the counter right when you enter. I ordered one of their seasonal items called 12 Karats. It was a delicious carrot cake latte (espresso, spiced carrot cake syrup, pecan and coconut milk). It was absolutely heavenly. We were greeted right away and the worker was friendly. They had the menu posted outside so we knew what we were going to order. We came for a team breakfast meeting and I happily ordered two different coffees to try (one latte with almond milk and a little vanilla, and then an iced almond milk lavender latte - YUM).
