This may be my new favorite coffee shop in Nashville. It is SO hard to find a spot in Music City with excellent vibes, plenty of space to spread out, AND good coffee. Some of my go-to's only have two of the three ... but The Loading Dock checks all of my boxes AND they have a food menu plus free parking?!? I think it's this remote girlie's dream come true. I met a friend here for some Monday co-working, and ordered their new chicken salad sandwich along with a cold brew. The chicken salad was delicious - on the sweet side but full of flavor, and served on a yummy croissant with lettuce and tomato. I'd happily order this again. I got my cold brew with an extra shot of espresso, and some maple and brown sugar cold foam, which was tasty too! I've sadly had too much weak cold brew recently, but TLD's does not fall into that category at all. My friend tried their seasonal Strawberry Fields matcha, which looked so pretty! I am already planning a trip back to TLD soon. I wouldn't say this is a hidden gem per se, since it seems like plenty of folks know about this great little shop. However, I am sure there are Nashville transplants like myself who have called the city home for years and haven't explored much of this neighborhood yet ... and to that I say, what are you waiting for? read more

I am so happy The Loading Dock moved into the neighborhood. It is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or to grab a cup of coffee. There is plenty of free parking too, which is a bonus in Nashville. I ordered the Turkey, Bacon and Avocado sandwich and upgraded from the chips to a side salad. The sandwich was pressed panini-style and was loaded with perfectly crispy bacon. So good. The first actual cozy coffee shop I've found in Nashville. This place has personality, and feels like it actually has life in it too. Maybe it's the pleathora of plants, the rugs spread throughout, or the random assortment of sitting areas, but this is a THIRD SPACE. Staff was super friendly, latte was solid, and prices were standard. This is what you think of when you're thinking of a comfortable, casual coffee shop. The coffee and handcrafted beverages here are really good. Today, I had a large, hot, Dirty Chai made with Oat milk. It was delicious and had just the right amount of cinnamon and spice. I love their Breakfast Burrito! It's stuffed with eggs, tomato, onion, avocado, cheddar cheese, and chipotle aioli. I like to substitute the vegan taco meat for the bacon simply because it seems to work better in this dish, and there's no charge for doing that. This is a moist and flavorful burrito that is served with a yummy salsa that complements it quite well. I highly recommend their breakfast burrito. Their pastries are also very good. They have muffins, coffee cake, and bagels. Be aware; the Coffee Cakes go fast. You may want to get there before 9:00 a.m. if you want one. There is a lot of indoor seating and the vibe is super casual. Staff are kind and helpful, and the prices are fair. This is one of the best coffee shops in Nashville. read more

My latest visit had me enjoying their awesome patio, fully equipped with large fans to help cool you down in the summer heat. I ordered a cold brew and a massive breakfast burrito. The burrito was delicious and loaded with bacon, eggs, and a chipotle cream sauce. The cold brew was on point. No bitterness, just all flavor. A good cold brew needs no milk or sweetener in my opinion. The loading dock has two interior places to hang out with one in a shared business area. I went for the first time to a campaign party event, and this time came to check out the place to enjoy their patio and to work. It's a cozy spot with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a huge selection of coffee and food. The menu was extensive, with coffee, drinks like homemade lemonade, as well food options such as paninis, muffins, and other lunch/breakfast items. The Loading Dock wasn't just a place to grab a quick snack - they took their food just as seriously as their coffee. I have enjoyed their sandwiches, muffins, and sometimes just getting a drink. The quality of the food was good. I like their music, but if you don't want to listen to it, there are several places on the premises to sit if you don't want to sit in the main cafe area. You can sit on their covered patio, and they also have a mixed-use office space where you can sit that is quieter, and still have good internet wifi. My experiences at the Loading Dock have been nothing short of happiness. The café had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the drinks and food meet my expectations. This place has it all. They have great food, coffee, and a place to sit down and stay awhile. Plenty of spots to sit and do work including an outdoor patio space for the warmer months. They have wifi that works well for those who are trying to get some work done. I got the breakfast burrito here and it came out nice & hot off the press. It came loaded with eggs, cheese, red onion, chipotle aioli, and avocado. I will say they could've put a little more avo in it but I was still super happy. For coffee, they have a wide selection of anything from seasonal drinks to espresso options. I got the flower boy which is a lavender honey latte and it was perfect. They also have cold foam you can put in your cold brew which is something I'll have to come back for. The employees are friendly, attentive, and happy to be here. Went here recently to meet some coworkers for some testing we had to complete.. We ended up being there day or two before they closed the location to move which was likely they were out of some of ingredients... They had a nice patio with extension cords available for us to plug up our computers.. The down side to the patio was it's next to the interstate soo it does get loud... the inside was quaint but it had a large garage style window that they ended up opening mid morning... I did have a coffee but I did try the Chelsea but substituted the bread for sourdough... i love a good veggies sandwich esp when it doesn't come with red/ green peppers; instead it came with the biggest/thickest slices of banana peppers... Hands down would go back to this place but they are moving locations soo we shall see read more

I can say, with confidence, I've never been to this neck of Wedgewood-Houston before. I've driven past it (usually at light speed and yelling at a Nashville driver) many times but never thought to venture up the hill and see what's there. So, *this* is Fort Houston? Good to know after so long. If you're not like me and knew where Fort Houston was, The Loading Dock may not come as a surprise. Actually, it may come as a surprise anyway as it looks to be a fairly new coffee addition to the Fort Houston work/art space. As a concept and a business, it makes perfect sense. I hope, as words grows, more people have the chance to frequent the space (although I was pretty impressed by the constant stream of traffic I witnessed). The walls are white and adorned with art. The majority of the tables are wood four tops but there is some quirky, comfortable seating by the door/window. Once you get settled, make your way to the counter and gets to eating/drinking. The menu isn't too terribly huge but there's enough variety to satisfy most any consumer. They even have gluten-free bread which put the sandwich options in play! Unfortunately, the delicious-looking sweets were off limits. I need to fully recognize that I am not a coffee man. I'll drink it if that's the only option but I prefer tea and should stick to it. I ordered a brown sugar cinnamon latte and it came out piping hot and nicely flavored. BUT I also ordered an avocado toast (I can never get these things due to the whole gluten-free PITA) and the tastes did NOT go well together. This is not one's fault but my own. Before the barista gave me a well-earned and very gracious side-eye, I was about to order a grilled cheese with flavored coffee. Yeah, I see it now, too. Needing to fix my drink choice, I went with a 'Mexican Coke' and all was well. My toast was delicious: creamy avocado, diced tomatoes, sliced almonds, and everything bagel seasoning -- the secret weapon. Once I corrected the drink choice, everything was coming up Milhouse. The space is comfortable. The people are nice. The product is good (I am going to try tea with a flavored shot next time). The Loading Dock is a hit. In a city with a ton of coffee options, you might not be inclined to try a new spot but you should. You should try The Loading Dock. read more

Popped into my fav pre-covid coffee shop (not just because its across from my office)! So glad to see they have been weathering the covid storm. There really isn't anything not to like about the menu offerings but it's the breakfast sandwiches for me! "The Fort" has consistently knocked me off of my feet! Plus the space is just a vibe! Cute patio in the shade. Unfortunately that's the only good thing I have to say about this place. I got the "Mostly Greek Salad." There was way too many frivolous ingredients and hardly any greens. Salad dressing was bad. They have a slew of hot teas but no good options where the iced tea is concerned. We got a Cuban that was just ok. Girl who took our order was rude. Won't be back. read more
