Subliminal coffee is located inside Lolu (cold plunge/sauna studio) and offers a wide range of coffee and tea beverages that are handcrafted by the amazing owner, JJ! The coffee is top quality and I highly recommend trying one of the pour overs, especially if you are a coffee connoisseur. Laid back atmosphere, plenty of parking, and a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee on a nice day when you can use the patio. There is so much intentionality behind what they do here so definitely come out to support!

Subliminal Coffee is a standout spot for truly great coffee and a cute spot too nestled in East. Everything is consistently well crafted, smooth, and flavorful, and you can tell they take their craft seriously. I didn't know what to get the first time and the staff helped make my decision easy. Simple, quality-focused, and always worth a visit.

Checked out this coffee cart recently and had the pleasure of meeting the owner! He was super friendly and great to chat with while we waited for our drinks. He was kind enough to give my husband an impromptu latte art tutorial which was cool to watch! Coffee was great and definitely recon if you're in the area!

Best coffee in Nashville! Gotta swing by and visit! Jared is the man and really cares about his craft! Very nice vibe and plenty of parking! If you are in Nashville you gotta come by and visit! And if you happen to find yourself in Maine, come visit me at Morning Moose Coffee!

This appears to be an up and coming area with lots of potential. Street parking was easily available. First impressions is cute, cozy, and quiet little place. There were lots of people working and hanging out. A couple of cute instagram photo ops as well I chose to order off the holiday menu which was the naughty or nice drink which is a gingerbread latte. Offered as hot or iced and with your choice of milk. I guess I made the nice list as I got green sprinkles. The gingerbread was subtle and the perfect amount. It reminds me of Christmas morning or baking cookies. Would like to try hot if I'm in the area again. Hubby got the Pistachio latte He said it was fantastic. It was too sweet and it was smooth. Had a great bit of nuttiness to it and he would order it again. Overall wonderful experience and would highly recommend

The space is simple, but inviting, bright, well-laid out and nicely decorated...and is definitely local to the area of Nashville it is in! The inside is made up of lots of seating from the front door to the back wall and if inside isn't your thing, they have plenty of seating outside under cover as well! Retrograde is a coffee house first, but they also offer a good variety of sandwiches, baked goods, bagels and even beer and wine! With the coffee, you have all your standard hot and iced varieties, but Retrograde does a really good seasonal menu, so make sure to check that out when visiting, no matter the time of year! Parking is a bit stressful here depending on time/day you visit. The lot is small and is shared, so on occasion you have to get creative or head into the surrounding neighborhood to find a spot. Service was friendly and efficient. Cashier to the barista, no issues. My latest visit was on a random off day and I felt like hanging out at a coffee shop for a bit, and it happened to be fall, so I sampled their fall creation, the Pecan-Icano. The drink was good, but I couldn't tell too much of a difference from a standard latte with the exception of the cold foam, which was absolutely delightful! The drink was still good, don't get me wrong, but not as pronounced in flavor as I expected. Overall, really enjoy having Retrograde in the neighborhood and will certainly continue stopping by!

The baked goods looked amazing and their breakfast biscuits may just be some of the best around. Remember that rad vibe I was telling you about? Well, the people working were joking about their "mystery burrito" but assured me that it would be good. Since daring is my middle name, I took a chance on the fattest breakfast burrito I've seen since living in Arizona. Let me tell you, they flippin' nailed it! My mystery burrito turned out to be a bacon, potato, pimento cheese, and egg cornucopia of Heaven wrapped in the exact right type of tortilla. So word to the wise, take a chance...you might up with something incredible. Would I go back? Is Nashvegas the bachelorette party capital of the east? Most definitely. Thank you Slow Hand and the two most awesomest people working on this fine Fall Saturday morning.

The muffin was very delicious, easily the highlight! The server was kind and welcoming, which always makes a difference. It's not the coziest spot if you're looking to linger, although they did have working wifi and it was very bright with the windows. They do close early though, so getting there early is key. Overall, great baked goods and worth the stop if you're timing it right!

It ain't inexpensive (and that's coming from someone who lives in LA), but you can tell they put a lot of care into their drinks here. Absolutely amazing flavors. They are ran mostly by families, they pay attention to the quality of what they serve and more often than not, have staff that genuinely enjoy being there. Once in a while, however, one encounters something truly remarkable that does not just break from the mold, but has that wow factor. Forevermore has that. Owned by a husband and wife duo, JP and Mary McLeod, Forevermore focuses on something that other places don't give much attention to: matcha. Ceremonial grade matcha of highest caliber imported from Japan. The couple lived in Uganda, Forevermore established as a project focused on sustainability. But, not only that, inside it is genuinely beautiful. There is a store of all kinds of cute things and the space feels like no other coffee shop. It's full of light, it's modern, yet also cozy. For those reasons, from the quality of drinks here, to the unbelievably beautiful ambiance and of course, kind staff, Forevermore is truly the ultimate place to enjoy a beverage.
