My favorite coffee spot in Nashville! Some consistently delivers excellent quality of both in-house drinks and take home beans. This location is in a modern business park, and parking is free for 15 minutes, though I think they also validate for an hour or so. I usually get in and out so I only need to use the 15 minute parking. Their most recent string of roasted beans has been amazing, with a twizzle-like kick to each of them, which actually pulls when you pull your espresso. They are well worth the price and miles above other roadies that I've tried. read more

My partner & I were in the area to try Aloha Fish & saw that there was a coffee shop nearby too. They don't have any food options, but they did have pastries. I got a blueberry muffin which I thought was really soft and good. My partner got a savory pastry - he thought it was fine but it wasn't heated up so the flavor was lacking a bit there. As for drinks, we got the Columbia & Ethiopia pourovers. We both liked it, both really light & flavorful. It was cool that they used a Poursteady machine, it's my first time seeing one in person. They were out of one of the options which I hope to try next time. Cafe looks really clean and cute. The ambiance was nice & service was chill. Baristas were kind & understanding of us needing some time to look at the menu since it was our first time. The best part of visiting TOA is that you can swing by Sump Coffee and get that caffeine served in a delicious way. If your not too late in the day you can also get one of their delicious pastries. My finance and I were in the area this weekend and decided to finally try Sump coffee, and we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered an iced Caramel/Vanilla latte and it was fantastic! The barista recommended the caramel and said they make it in house! All of the staff that we spoke with were friendly and helpful. They do validate parking which is a huge plus, especially here in Nashville. Side note: they're located by a really cool water feature in the One City area and would highly recommend grabbing a coffee to go and enjoying some nice weather. We opted to stay inside because of how hot it was and the shop itself had a really cool vibe (and a/c lol). I had heard so many good things about Sump, even from people that visit from out of town. However, I was sorely disappointed. I ordered a flat white, and it was up there for the worst coffee I've ever had at a more serious coffee shop, let alone anywhere. Either the espresso shot was super sour, or the milk was spoiled, or both. Staff was very friendly. Tables were dirty, even though it wasn't terribly busy inside. Parking is also challenging - they do have a QR code to cover parking, but you'd have to walk into the store first without paying for parking, which is risky. Free spots are limited out front and advertise as 15 minutes only; however, they do allow you to extend that time for free several times. read more

They were prepared beautifully but tasted awful even after asking for modifications. We were immediately informed all of the food was sold out for the day so that was a bummer as well. There are plenty of tables to work, plugs and bright natural lighting. If you are looking for a quiet or private working space this may not be the one for you. It started out as me being the only one here then a few more people trickled in . Not slow , not busy but a consistent Sunday . Music playing was calming and relaxing . The staff were super friendly , helpful and flat out just amazing . Coffee is very flavorful , robust and on the more bold side . My matcha was AMAZING, smooth, and creamy. The strawberry galette was similarly great. My only recommendation would be that the actual drink was as flavorfully bold as the description (ie The Imbolc had white chocolate and cayenne, and while it tasted delicious, was lacking any kind of spicy kick). I'm on the hunt for my favorite Nashville coffee shop, and Sump is a strong contender. With lots of menu options for coffee connoisseurs, and a decent remote work set-up - what's not to like? You can park in the attached garage and just take the elevator up to the coffee shop. However, I prefer to park in the lot next to OneC1ty - it's a bit easier to get in and out of, and a bit cheaper if you're planning to stay for awhile. The vibes inside are cool - if you're into artsy skulls, this is the place for you. I've been here three times, and haven't strayed too far from my go-to cold brew with almond milk. This place is located inside One C1ty, and there's an underground parking garage with free parking for Sump patrons. There's plenty of inside with big picture windows that get lots of sunshine. I was visiting Nashville on a guys trip. This is one of the coffee shops. I tried, and I have to say out of the three that I tried, this is my favorite. The thing that sold me on on it was getting a pour over with an extra picture of coffee on the side. It really communicates their desire for you to sit and stay for a while and enjoy your coffee. Very friendly staff here! My ham and cheese croissant was yummy as well. I've been here twice on the weekend and it is absolutely impossible to get a seat. I knocked off another star because my husband's coffee cup was leaky. No big deal, he went and let them know since we were still there, and they replaced it. Then the second one leaked as well and we were in the car by that point! I'm a non- coffee drinker so I asked him if he's ever experienced that before and he said never, that's very unusual and not good that it happened twice. I can't speak on the food, as I didn't try any pastries or anything. I didn't see any gluten free options either. However, this place had a really chill and quiet vibe. People were sipping their coffee, working on their computers and overall seemed happy to be here! It was very cute and clean. I am totally digging their bearded skull logo! The coffee was super awesome! Not too many flavor options but I did go with the vanilla bean latte and it didn't disappoint! The service was great, as I was greeted upon entering and proceeded to the counter to check it all out. I was quickly tended to and waited only a few short minutes for a sip of heaven! Odd location- at a medical complex- so a little off the beaten path. But TOTALLY worth it. When I stay in Vanderbilt I usually grab some Poindexter Coffee over at the Graduate- which is the only acceptable coffee up there in proximity. But they don't do pour overs. SUMP is the real deal if you want the selection of beans and brewing methods to choose from. Baristas are impeccable and super nice. Costa Rican pour over was the best coffee I've had in nashville up to that point. Highly recommend by my coffee snob sensibilities. Service is average, but then I was surprised to learn that regular coffee is served only till Noon. After that only Pour over coffee for $6 a cup. I choose to go for cappuccino instead. This place was great. A nice quiet little coffee shop in an upcoming, trendy neighborhood. Clean, colorful and sharp aesthetics with great eclectic music and good customer service. I was greeted warmly at the door and made to feel welcome while I was here. The place smells amazing with notes of wood and fresh, unburnt coffee. And the chocolate milk latte was delicious. Not overly sweet or too chocolate-y it was the right balance of coffee and mocha. And a nice touch...the barista spent a little extra time and his energy to the pour and foam art even knowing the lid was going to be put on it and I would never see it; that speaks to me of dedication and passion to his profession. Sadly I think this place's location is too off the beaten path, behind the Pastaria and the building, and it was a lot slower than I would have expected it to be on a Friday morning.
