Stopped in for a quick lunch recently with family. Sandwiches were pretty good on average. I had the roast beef and provolone which was good. But that's hard to mess up, isn't it? My husband got the black bean burger, which I found to be a bit dry and granular in consistency. My sister's pimento sandwich was average and my brother-in-law said his crab cake sandwich was very good (he wasn't willing to part with a bite, so I guess it was). We did not care for any of the bakery items we tried; I'm not sure if they were old or if they always start out that dry. My husband loves the breakfast here. Fav place in Franklin. Only place I go in the downtown area for coffee because no one else makes it as good as them. Staff is really personable and lively. Being celiac and lactose intolerant makes it hard to find places that have many options that I can eat, but Frothy has a plethora of dishes I can eat and if I am not sure about an item (whether it is something I can eat or not) the waiting staff is more than happy to point everything out. Let me start by saying that I absolutely love Frothy Monkey, and my regular location is the 12s location. However, I ventured to the franklin location due to meetings in the area. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of friendliness from the staff from the moment I walked into the door. The staff at the Franklin location appeared unhappy and annoyed, a stark difference compared to the staff I have encountered at the other locations. In addition, the food was subpar compared to the other locations. My omelet appeared thrown together with minimal ingredients so much that it was essentially a hard scrambled egg without add ins. I think this location could improve on its quality and wait staff attitudes. read more

Delightful aroma, rustic decor and homey service. Very crowed, but rightfully so! We got the special seasonal drinks, but they didn't taste very different than normal lattes. Would definitely recommend! read more

Ate lunch last Friday at the new Franklin location and it was GREAT! The place was packed which could have made for a stressful situation, but the staff were all so cheerful and relaxed and positive! The sandwich I ordered was delicious and the chips and spicy salsa that came with it was a welcome surprise! I love the vibe going on and I WILL be back soon and often! Here it is the next Friday the 25th and just left there again....grabbed a sandwich to go.....So yummy! This may be my Friday lunch tradition! They seem to have a few good beer selections too...may have to try one or two after work. :) Anyway, I give my two thumbs up....just don't be in too much of a rush. Hip. Cool. You. Once you try this place, you will come back. I haven't been to Starbucks since the day I took a sip of a Frothy Monkey latte. And, the food is fantastic and sourced locally. Breakfast and two large chai's came out to $22. Oatmeal with fresh fruit, french toast used fresh baked baguette that was a little dry but overall satisfying. Staff were very friendly and engaging even though it was busy. Sunday morning at 9:30am wasn't too crazy. Would recommend to anyone in the area! read more

Iced white mocha with banana. Yum! The annoying giggling teenaged girls threw me off but otherwise an adorable spot to sit, relax and have a drink. Its a pretty busy place but so much cooler than any big box type coffee shop. read more

Probably my favorite breakfast in town, but we just don't go that much anymore. The price of popularity is that now everyone from baby boomer Bible studies to yuppie yoga mom's trying out free range parenting frequent our once weird and quiet coffee shop. It's loud on Saturday mornings and Wine Down Wednesday's are the worst. Aside from that, you can get the best pancakes around at Frothy. Their pimento cheese is also amazing. Coffee's not too bad either. But I do miss the dreads and tattoos. read more

A friend who is the pickiest of eaters will hardly eat anywhere else in Franklin. Quite crowded at times, but with good reason. We particularly like the wine Wednesday's. We stopped by the frothy monkey on a whim after a poor experience at another restaurant. We were extremely pleased with the entire experience from the service to the food. Great coffee. Just that black rimmed glasses with out lenses, laptop taking up the whole table,loud projecting cell phone voices,yuppity yuppie type clientele. I'm from California and I'm saying this so...... The building is old, where you gotta go up and down stairs to find a spot to sit. You'll end up outside for sure. Coffee is way overpriced. People who work there are nice. Just a shame they have to deal with the people who hang out there. I have to go to Starbucks to get away from the Yuppies?????huh???really??Geez!! read more

I have eaten there several times. The food is always fresh and very tasteful. I have tried several sandwiches and all were good. I do enjoy the tortilla chips and salsa that accompanies the sandwich but I wish potato chips were an option. I have eaten dinner there also. The blackened Mahi was very good although the sautéed Swiss chard was missing. The coffees are also excellent. The staff sometimes seem aloof but I enjoy the atmosphere and overall experience. You should give this trendy restaurant a try! read more

- Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, both upstairs and downstairs. Great for coffee, one-on-one meetings, and reading. Upstairs has a great 'bar' with seating and powerstrips for charging your devices. I had a Royale sandwich and a latte. Loved everything that was on the delicious multi-grain bread. However, I wasn't a fan of the salsa and chips that came with the sandwich meal. My boyfriend had the Nathan sandwich (has natural peanut butter, honey, and bananas), and he said it was the best peanut butter and banana sandwich he's ever had! I wouldn't say the latte was the best latte I've ever had in Nashville, but it was still delicious. Great customer service and beautiful location! read more

Great coffee - and even better atmosphere. It takes me back to college in Seattle when Starbucks was just getting big - and there were lots of local coffee houses with real furniture and real books and dark wood and the feeling of a cozy study area. Definitely a repeater. read more

Came with a group of 5 on a Saturday morning. We all ordered the same thing. The first dish came out 30 minutes in. The second 40 minutes in. Then finally the last 3 came 50 minutes in. Food was average and somewhat cold. Would not recommend. read more

Frothy is a good comfortable place to enjoy a Sunday morning with the kids or family. The staff is very kind and they bring your food to the table while you wait, sometimes the coffee can take quite a while so don't go in expecting a latte to come out in a minute or two. I love this place but after today I won't be back. I placed a to go order and they told me 15 minutes. I waited and came 15 minutes later. The line was out the door and around the inside of the building. I walked up to the barista and asked if there was a to go order place to pay he said "no. End of the line". I placed a to go order because I am in a hurry and don't have time to wait, clearly. I said "okay. Cancel my order". He then asked kitchen staff if it was ready. It was and then they told me to wait-ugh. Then they rang me up in front of the next customer because I was about to leave my food and not come back. The people in line got mad and made nasty comments and the employees made no attempt to say hey our bad or this is a to go order. I was SO embarrassed. I ran out with my card, and wallet, and every thing in my hands they were so mean. I almost tripped down the stairs I was so embarrassed. Got to my car and my food was the wrong order and it was ice cold. SO ANGRY. ***Also. Honestly, get some organization to this place. There are 8 people waiting in a clump for coffee. There are people everywhere and you cannot move. Great food but won't be back after today. read more

Got the sausage burger and I really enjoyed it, however the roasted red potatoes were so shriveled and hard, they were inedible.

I am so bummed....my husband and I roam Franklin each weekend for the breakfast spots.....first impression ..we walk in and we were not greeted.....We had to stand in line to order our food and had to hunt down a menu... This day the waffle maker was broken so we got the pancakes which were really good. The atmosphere was cool which is nice for downtown Franklin .. Recommendations: 1. Have a milder coffee blend available (j Christopher's rocks), greet your guests and hand them a menu and maybe thank them for coming in with a menu (note to over 40 crowd...dont forget your readers)....we did receive our food rather quickly...but then it occurred to us in order to get another cup of coffee we would have to get in line again t!!!!!!! 2. Just use waitstaff to seat folks, take orders and carry coffee pots to refill coffee and this place will be a repeater. Otherwise, as busy as it was I don't see it being a place we would return to often.....if you want great service, a pot of coffee on your table in regular or bold blend, and great food try J. I loved this place! I had a breakfast bun and a vanilla latte and both were delicious. The latte was not too sweet and tasted amazing. The breakfast bun was fantastic too. I had wanted oatmeal but they were already out so I settled for the bun. By the first bite I was not missing the oatmeal. My only regret was not ordering a larger latte and picking up a second bun to go. I'm in town visiting but already planing on hitting up Frothy Monkey at least one more time before I head out. read more

place wasn't busy at all but we had to decide whether we should seat ourselves? is there any one here?? finally 6 minutes later we ask if we can sit- then 10 min goes by we have a waiter.... no drinks come--- time passes-another waiter shows uo to take our order.... what?? we ordered where are our drinks.... 10 min later a waitress ... yes another one brings our drinks but misses something.... finally a 4th person comes to take our order... LOL.... after 30 min our apparently slow cooked sandwiches from another state arrive-food was GREAT- service sucks--- step it up or we won;t return... This place is pretty popular with it's multiple locations. We went to the one in Franklin. I loved the converted old house feel. They have unique flavored lattes. I was concerned with all the flavors that were going to go into my latte it might be too sweet so I ordered the white hazelnut mocha half sweet. Half sweet was perfect, nervous what the full sweet would taste like. I didn't give five stars because we asked the girl at the register where the beans were roasted from and she didn't know. She didn't even ask someone else to answer. Then all three of my friends ordered soy and none of us got soy. A little disappointing. I'm the type of person that takes all the little things into account. So when you, as a business care about the little things it speaks volumes to me as the customer. Now maybe I just had an off time because like I said they have multiple locations so they must be doing something right by everyone. read more
