They found I was very low on refrigerant, which indicated a leak in the lines. I chose to replace the refrigerant and add a dye to help them find the leak(s). The dye also contained a sealant that might provide e temporary fix. They suggested I become a VIP Service Club member, because the instant discount would save me more than a whole year of membership. So I signed up for membership and saved $356. A few weeks after that, I asked Airmech to come out again to check the system for leaks. They came out promptly, at no cost, and found no leaks. Then two weeks ago, the AC was not working again. This time, the diagnosis was different: a fried mother board. Seeing a pattern here, I recognized this may be a wise time to replace the whole system. I've learned about the benefits of heat pump air conditioner and heater units. So I asked for estimates from Airmech and four other venders what it would cost to replace my HVAC with a heat pump HVAC and replace my gas water heater with a heat pump water heater. Airmech credited the whole cost of our June repair back to us in their estimate for this new job. Their price was competitive and the recommendations they gave for system improvements were compelling. In the process of clarifying last-minute details, I asked if their drywall handyman would be available to do another drywall job in the house. The estimator (Alex) and drywall handyman (Manuel) came out and gave me an attractive on-the-spot estimate fort he additional drywall work. I said yes. They begin work on tomorrow.

Tapping into our inner optimism, we decided to seek a reputable appliance repairman that could possibly remedy the problem. After doing a Yelp search, I arrived at Real Tech - an appliance repair business located here in Elk Grove. I immediately contacted them and was able to schedule a next-day appointment. The following day serviceman Niko arrived ready to diagnose and fix the problem. He reminded me that there is a service call fee that would be included within the repair cost. After I pointed out the obvious issue, I moved out of the way so that he could get to work. Unlike some repairmen that simply fix the issue and are off on their merry way, Niko did a superb job of communicating the root cause of the problem and sending me photos of the newly unclogged refrigerator defrost drain line. I greatly appreciate Real Tech for not only quickly responding to and fixing the problem, but for also the style of repair. Niko was kind, efficient, communicative, and seemed genuinely passionate about resolving the issue so that my family could resume use of our freezer. As I'm finalizing this review, it has almost been 24 hours since the repair and I'm happy to report that both the refrigerator and freezer are operating like new - also, we no longer have water leaking onto the kitchen floor when the automatic defrost cycle runs...thank you Real Tech!

We definitely felt we got more than we paid for! Never had that feeling with a repair individual who often tries to overcharge and have u fix more things unnecessarily.

Overall it was a great experience and I believe the system the set-up was a great value. Looking to get lower bills in the summer when the heat cranks up! Only issue that I did not notice till later is that they actually had changed out to from a stealth to a trident but they had upped the version. I have been really skeptical of all HVAC companies in the past 5 years. I have been burned by so many HVAC techs and wasted so much money. 4 different companies went through with different shadiness levels giving me different answers for the same HVAC issue. Every company kept telling me my freon was low and i most likely had a leak. One company even told me to just replace my brand new system cause "it was from China" The Jaguar tech (Jeff) definitely gave me some disappointed head shakes at previous work but was the only one to truly put his head down, work, and diagnose the root cause of the issue. He checked every part of the system before he gave me an answer on what he believed was wrong. After the diagnosis he detailed every part of the HVAC unit (and attic unit) and explained to me what he was looking for, what he found, and what he believed was the answer.
