My old system was failing and my PG&E True Up bills were off the charts even with my solar. I was referred to Bishops by We Paint another excellent company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted them and was promptly scheduled for a meeting to discuss my needs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Preston arrived promptly and equipped to give me a professional quote. After assessing my current 20 year old unit and discussing my expectations we came to a mutual agreement that a 5 Ton Daikin system with a 17 SEER rating was best for my 3000 sq ft home. It's a split system with 2 thermostats one upstairs and one downstairs. I had received 3 other quotes from equally reputable companies however they kept trying to downgrade the system I was seeking to save me money on the installation which would have effected performance. Preston understood I was less interested in saving money on the installation but knew with the right system I'd be saving money every time the unit came on, it would provide the comfort level I was seeking and in the long run was what I needed the most. Refreshingly honest! We had Bishop's come out to give us a second opinion on why our 4 year old Lennox furnace would not start. The system had been shut off for 4 days. When he had us turn it back on it worked. He said everything looks okay but it may be that the mother board had a hiccup. He said to call if there were any future issues. The first company that came out last week said we needed a new gas valve controller and would charge $547 for labor and the part covered under warranty was $1,061. We are really glad a friend suggested we seek a second opinion. It saved us a lot of money. In the future, we will call Bishop's for our HVAC needs. read more

Preston was great! Fixed the problem part and didn't try to make me buy a new unit. Responded quickly to my message when my A/C went out at 7pm. Actually told me what he thought the problem might be and what the cost would be if that were the case after on-site diagnosis. He was here the next day to take a look. Initially, the unit turned on and everything ran fine. Preston took the time to check through everything until the problem started up again. Once it showed itself, he had the parts already on his truck to replace and get my A/C running again. Keep in mind that A/C repairs are expensive. Bishop's prices are in-line with what most companies charge for these services and I don't feel robbed. We wanted to get a second opinion cause the company who came out today, (not our regular AC guy) quoted us 18k-20k to replace the whole system by looking at it after 15 minutes.
