    My old system was failing and my PG&E True Up bills were off the charts even with my solar. I was referred to Bishops by We Paint another excellent company. I contacted them and was promptly scheduled for a meeting to discuss my needs. Preston arrived promptly and equipped to give me a professional quote. After assessing my current 20 year old unit and discussing my expectations we came to a mutual agreement that a 5 Ton Daikin system with a 17 SEER rating was best for my 3000 sq ft home. It's a split system with 2 thermostats one upstairs and one downstairs. I had received 3 other quotes from equally reputable companies however they kept trying to downgrade the system I was seeking to save me money on the installation which would have effected performance. Preston understood I was less interested in saving money on the installation but knew with the right system I'd be saving money every time the unit came on, it would provide the comfort level I was seeking and in the long run was what I needed the most. When you deal with contractors it's good to listen to their advice as long as they are also listening to your wants and needs. Sadly only 1 out of 4 actually listened to what I was asking for and that was Preston. I accepted his proposal and a week later had my beautiful HVAC system installed and up and running, I've never looked back! In addition to running off 2 thermostats it also runs off an app on my phone so I can monitor or change the settings even when I'm away from home! How cool is that. Preston and his 2 installers were amazing and very fast and very clean too. There wasn't a mess to clean up even after working in my attic! If you need a new Air Conditioner and/or Heater save yourself the headache and just call Preston. I'll be referring all of my family and friends to him. (209) 620-1395

Their initial estimate was for a smaller system so I requested that they provide an estimate for a larger system. The staff was great and provided an estimate for the larger system which I appreciated. On the day of setup, they two employees provided information on the system and were timely and quick in set-up. I appreciated how friendly they were and they provided information on the system. During set-up they notified their might be a power issue related to the system but after discussion with the owner, they determined that the system would be adequately powered. Overall it was a great experience and I believe the system the set-up was a great value. Looking to get lower bills in the summer when the heat cranks up! Only issue that I did not notice till later is that they actually had changed out to from a stealth to a trident but they had upped the version. Initially I was surprised by this but since it was a larger system and it was still able to be powered I did not have any issues.

It's going to be pretty awkward explaining to them that they are going to have to end the visit if the other company that we booked for a quote shows up as they too are on their way and actually on-time. No calls, no apologies on the text. First impressions are lasting. I encourage the company to be more proactive and timely to create good impressions. Update: Jeff showed up at 2:24 reeking of cigarettes and has made everywhere he has walked smell. Blamed the lateness on the heat.

The technician was very nice, and the price seemed to be solid. The technician advised me that the units were very very old but seemed to be running fine. He suggested I could do a couple things to make the heater run more efficiently, which was great. However, soon after he left the unit stopped working all together. I thought it was the thermostat because it was giving issues and thought it just quit. NOPE. I found myself crawling into the attic and reassembling the panels to the heater because they were not reattached correctly and not engaging the safety switch. Also, he pointed out that the thermostat had a blue wire but it was not connected. While in the attic, I noticed the blue wire was not connected to the heater. For doing a maintenance on the heater he sure missed a pretty important piece. There was also no reason why I needed to go into the attic to fix the heater THAT JUST HAD A SERVICE LESS THAN 24 HOURS EARLIER. Jaguar, please reach out to me. Unacceptable.

    We recently had a terrible experience with our home warranty company and the HVAC contractor they…read moredispatched. The work that that contractor stated our system needed after doing a routine annual tune-up was that the evaporative cooler needed to be replaced; and was going to cost us over $4,500 out-of-pocket (and the home warranty was going to cover a mere $400). This work turned out to be completely unnecessary. After reading up on the reviews of that company the home warranty company dispatched, it sounded to us like it's their business motto to rip off homeowners through their home warranty companies. My instincts told me that we needed to get a second opinion after getting their "diagnosis" and quote, as well as after reading their reviews. However, our home warranty company declined our request for a second opinion. We contacted Climate Solutions for a second opinion anyway on our own. To be clear, I wanted to make sure we got a thorough inspection and an independent opinion, and not influence their opinion by sharing the diagnosis of the other contractor. So, I never told them that we were told we needed to replace the evaporative cooler. Kao came out as scheduled, and after his inspection, told us our system was just a bit low on refrigerant, but it's still functioning just fine (and it is, as we've never had any issues, and the "issue" we were told we had resulted from just a routine seasonal tune-up). We ended up saving ourselves from getting ripped off over $4,500. We also decided to be done with our home warranty company, as it is clear to us they do not properly vet their contractors, nor do they value their customers' feedback, opinion, and their best interest. We highly recommend Kao and Climate Solutions. They are reliable, trustworthy, and reasonable in their work and pricing. We will continue to use Kao's service for all our HVAC needs going forward.

    Unfortunately I just missed out on my 5 year warranty for my HVAC so I searched around and found…read morethis company through Yelp. The issue was that my system was on but no cold air was blowing and I had a condenser replaced under warranty in the past for the same issue but now my problem was back. Their communication was great as they called and/or texted for every appointment. The caveat was that my service was expensive; totaling to $7224.92. I have the receipts to show full transparency on what you may expect to pay to replace a evaporator coil outside of warranty The one thing I appreciated was that the techs were able to come at the beginning of the service window instead of the end. I hate when a company tells me that someone will show up from 12-4pm and they come at the end which then they start work and it's additional time from there. I only ran into one situation with Elite where the tech was running slightly late and I received a call to set expectations with me which I appreciated. I work in the new home construction space and asked around with our HVAC guys and it sounds like maybe I got taken for a ride on the price but that's on me. I would suggest to get multiple quotes but the job is paid for and my system works so hopefully I buy once and cry once. The freon used was R410a which I was charged $185/lb and when calling around, the lowest I found another tech could do was $150/lb. Also, for the service itself, it was $2500 to replace the coil and the job took roughly around 3-4hrs from setup to finish. I called my initial tech on how they arbitrarily got that number and he simply laughed and said unfortunately it was non-negotiable but he understood it was pricey. I called around and got roughly the same quote to replace a coil and so I'm not sure if the HVAC industry just agreed on one price which would be my conspiracy theory. If you work out the math, the techs were getting paid $650-$833 an hour depending on how fast they work which is crazy! More than many lawyers out there. At the end of the day, my initial tech was super nice. He provided me his contact info and was able to answer his phone every time I called or texted. The installers were two separate people; my was a primary person and the second looked like an apprentice. My request for Elite is for the second guy to not take personal called inside my home as he's on a job at the moment. Overall, the system works now. I got cold air blowing and the world is good again besides my bank account....
