They sent Thomas out to take a look, he was very up front about the condition of the unit and advised that there was alot of issues, which we totally get. He was very thorough and took a lot of reference photos and explained what he was doing. We agreed to look at getting a new system and set up a meeting with Kyle for later the afternoon. Kyle was also amazing and went over the pricing and options, you never want to pay for a new AC unit but it's a necessity here so and they made sure we had a great deal. Installation will be later this week! I look forward to a frosty summer!

They did not install the correct size return vent so our heater kept overheating. It would cycle on and off every few minutes and say it was heating when no air was moving. We literally had them come out 4 times before they found out what the issue one. The first 3 times they gaslit us and said that is was our Nest or a draft in an interior wall... I think they have only one good employee because the 4th guy to show up told us he liked to get paid for his overtime and would stick around until he got to the cause of the problem. Also when they finally "fixed" the return vent to a proper sized, they botched the install and had cracks in the ceiling and random screws sticking out in places. So they had to come back again to fix that mistake.

Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

Hmmmm. They use expensive AC capacitors…read more I picked out Rey's Air because it has a 4.9 Yelp rating. You can't always judge Yelp's rating by its cover. Our AC went on the blink yesterday. It's less than ten years old and is used minimally. The unit's interior house fan and exterior AC fan remained working but the compressor failed to engage. The air was not being chilled. I'm old. 76. I know that capacitors commonly fail and I have had them replaced over the years. Rey' Air quoted $79 to take a look. What could go wrong. On the positive side Rey's Air arrived promptly the next day. On the negative side, after about a half hour of perusing, the tech said that he determined that I likely have a bad capacitor. He recommended replacing it, or even upgrading to a better capacitor unit (for $200 "more") When I asked what the 'regular' capacitor replacement would be, he said $285. I hesitated. I said that's a lot for a capacitor. (Home Depot sells them for as little as $10 to $20 for the part). He said everything is expensive or something to that effect. I said okay. Let's just get it done. I did not want to go through more torment with another AC outfit. I said let's just go with the "cheaper chicken". Then the tech began adding. He said okay. "So that's 285 plus 79 (the show up fee). That's $364! (for a $10 part). I think I said 'yikes'. That is an 'expensive capacitor'. After a couple of minutes the tech relented agreeing to "only charge me" $285 for the half hour of looking (and five minute replacing). Bottom line: Fair price for fair service is all we ask. I see some gouging here. I understand that there are times when changing a capacitor's price should go up. As when there are hazardous or miserable conditions including problematic accessibility, or with lengthy or repeated driving times. None of that applied. Short drive. Open and shady and cool work space. If Rey's were to have charged $180 or even $200 for the tech's 30 minutes attendance, that would have been fair and profitable. Two star rating is best I can do. .

They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! This company installed an HVAC system in our house 8 years before we purchased it. We went to pull a permit for a different reason and found out the HVAC permit had never been finalized. When we reached out to them the first time nothing ever came of it. Until we actually needed a permit 5 years later. Jason the owner I believe made us pay for the permits to be reissued. He.said it was not his responsibility that the previous owners did not take care of the permit, As well he blamed the city and the inspectors. He then proceeded to charge us to pull the new permit. ($150 for his time $207 permit fees) We will not be doing business with them in the future. This was handled so poorly. The city of Citrus Heights said it was their obligation based on codes of 2009 to follow through with a permit as they pulled it originally. The previous owners were charged initially of corse. It cost us close to $400 for something we had no control over. He was not willing to meet us halfway or negotiate. Terrible customer service for a small business post Covid. We might have considered using them for a future updated unit had they handled this honorably and did the right thing, just shameful read more

We were looking for a local company in our area and stumbled upon Valley heating and Air. I was impressed with all the great reviews and am very happy I chose them. After purchasing our home a year ago, our heat stopped working on Monday. I spoke with Devin and she was so helpful and was able to fit me in on a day they had booked solid. She was understanding when I told her we have young kids here and she didnt want us to be without heat. Jason came out later that day and had our heat running again in about 35 mins. I planned to spend the $1,500 they quoted but after they began to do work, price was increased to 3K. I was over a barrel as I don't live in the home and my renters were miserable in the hot weather. It is now July 10th and the owner (Dino) has no interest whatsoever in rectifying the situation. He offered to put the $3,500 which I already spent toward replacing the entire unit (his quote was higher than Costco's quote by the way) He also told me the price has gone up considerably since I received his first quote in April. Why in the world would I give them more $$ when my system now works worse than it did when they began doing work? I wish him no ill will personally but I do think that people need to be warned. I had him replace two thermostats at a cost of $774. I was told by two other contractors that they would have only charged $500. I feel that I was taken advantage of and customer service when I tried to call and send texts took three days to get back to me. He only responded after I send him emails. I had worked with him many years ago and have given him business over the years. You would think someone would want to keep a reasonable customer who pays in a timely manner. Very disappointing.

The estimator thoroughly explained the installation process (they would seal all leaks then test the new system, etc.), and replacing of all new registers. He not only advised me of two rebates that were available on my new Amanda Variable HVAC system, but he also made all the rebate processing incredibly simple. The delivery subcontractor was great in not blocking my single-car driveway with the heavy equipment. The installation technician was totally professional, he explained everything and answered all my questions; in addition, he was totally respectful of my property and pets and incredibly tidy. The young apprentice was also very courteous, responsive, and respectful, especially when navigating the ladder to reach all the registers. Due to his extensive experience, when the technician realized the air handler was deeper than the closet, he made the necessary adjustments for a completely professional installation in line with all codes. Even the subcontractor who came to collect all the previous equipment piled on the curb, was prompt and very professional. All my interactions with Bronco HVAC staff and subcontractors were completely professional and highly efficient, and the pricing was absolutely fair. I could not be more delighted. Thank you.
