David arrived to fix our AC around one pm, explained to me exactly what the problem was, and the approximate cost to repair it, he got the unit working in no time, and once he was finished, the cost was less than the original estimate, that, in my book, speaks louder than words, since he could have just charged me the larger amount and I would not have known Two years ago we had Patrick fix a 38 year old AC unit, at our old house, so we can say that both, David and Patrick are not only great at what they do, but very friendly, polite, personable and honest, my husband and I are very lucky to have found them, since now a days it's very hard to find hard working honest people, who have your back read more

AC suddenly stopped working. We got a quick response and quick fix from a very friendly technician

Was told I needed to replace my 20 year old HVAC by multiple companies (approx $15-20k) and that it couldn't be repaired. I called Sierra Aire to see if they wanted to provide a bid for the work and David said he not does do new installs - only repairs and offered to come check it out. Was able to come out within a day, diagnosed the problem and repaired it quickly the same day and charged half the cost other folks had quoted me for the refrigerant. He was so great and really saved our bacon - very honest and fair business. Would totally use Sierra Aire again 10/10. read more

I am very much pleased with the service and expertise I have received from Patrick and David at Sierra Aire. They always communicate quickly, ask exactly what is happening with my AC/Heater to get the best idea of how to address it, and show up on time to fix our issues. Their pricing is clear and reasonable. I'm a long term customer and will continue to be so. My last issue with my old AC unit was the capacitor dying. Service was great and quick and resolved within 24 hours from initially failing. This quick service was extremely important to us with the Sacramento summer just getting started. read more

David clearly explained what he was checking and what he found. He found a couple of things to keep an eye on without a hard sell.

I'm nervous to let someone look at my A/C unit with all these videos of scam fixes and greed. But the ratings and philosophy of this company to overcome that stigma really paid off. David was super nice, professional, and gave me peace of mind that my 2018ish unit that came with the house is in excellent condition. He also clarified when it's best to replace filters and the pros and cons of using higher density filters where it's a trade off between airflow and filtration power. So that was also nice to understand how to keep my AC in its best shape because you can't mess around in Sacramento come summer. This is a great time of year to get a tune up and test to and how to best maintain the unit in your personal home as well. Five stars and excellent value for the service fee. read more

I am so glad I used Sierra Aire to fix my AC. I woke up in the morning to my outside unit running, but the AC was not on in the house. I quickly found Sierra Aire and their great reviews. David was super responsive and was able to come out later the same day, which was a relief since we are about to have a heat wave the next few days. David kept in touch all day and let me know when he was on his way. He showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the issue. I had 2 parts replaced at a reasonable cost. David communicated each step throughly including pricing. I would absolutely recommend Sierra Aire to everyone I know and next time I have any AC issues, I know who I will be calling. read more

Called made appt for the next morning David showed up 30 minutes prior to our time frame. Diagnosed in about 30 minutes after cleaning a few items. Blower motor failure, he went back to office to verify they had the part. Called me in about 90 minutes they had it and another appt set for the next day. An hour later we had heat. Patrick and David only do repairs, not new installations. They recognize the quality of my HVAC system, and encourage me to continue maintaining it until a major system fails (like a compressor, for example). That gives me comfort that I can keep my high-quality, high-performing, but older system running for its maximum lifespan, rather than incurring tremendous expense to install one of the newer systems that's far less reliable and durable. David was out a couple of months ago and was very patient and flexible as he helped deal with an unexpected issue. Really appreciate these guys - - read more

It's quite simple- the professionals with this company possess the expertise to solve HVAC challenges and are responsive to customers' concerns. No hesitation on my part to call on them in the future. They quickly resolved our furnace issues. Fair pricing. read more

I have a 22 year old HVAC system that seems to run fine so I am interested in keeping it going. David came out and did an assessment and came up with the suggestion to install a Hard Startup Kit on the AC system (cost around $300+). I never heard of this component (none of the various HVAC maint people ever brought up the idea). Basically it reduces the wear and tear on the AC compressor. When the compressor fails on an older unit one has to replace the whole HVAC (big bucks!!). That seems like a good way to extend the longevity of the HVAC. Now is not the time to buy a new HVAC given the new refrigerants being in short supply and the potential increase in costs from tariff taxes on foreign made units and parts. Sierra Aire's focus on maintenance (not sale of new systems) gives them a different perspective on service. When one considers that a new HVAC costs $15K+ and are sold with the expectation that they last only 15 years, it makes sense to keep them going as long as possible. It is a pretty expensive part of home ownership when one looks at it that way. read more

My A/C went out on a Saturday evening. On Sunday morning, I called one of the big local HVAC repair companies and was advised I would receive a call back in one business day. That callback never came. So, I turned to Yelp and read through reviews. I liked what I saw with Sierra Aire and took a chance. Sierra Aire responded within minutes and sent a tech within 2 hours of first communication. My A/C was repaired right away with a new capacitor, compressor and an auxiliary capacitor was installed all at a reasonable price. The tech was honest and very communicative about the issue. Sierra Aire will be doing all my preventative service in the future. I highly recommend them! read more

** Great Same-Day HVAC Repair by Sierra Aire!** Big thanks to Sierra Aire for getting my furnace and A/C up and running! The fan wasn't turning on, even though the A/C compressor outside was working. Dave diagnosed the issue quickly--it was a bad capacitor and the Fan motor was scrapping the housing and did an adjustment--and had it fixed the same day, which was a lifesaver. Excellent job, professional service, and super grateful they could fit me in so fast. Highly recommend Sierra for HVAC repairs! I reached out to Sierra Aire after a failed repair that I attempted to make myself, and while they didn't have somebody available to come out to me as soon as we were hoping, David offered to walk me through some continued troubleshooting that I could understand and perform myself to help save me some time and money. I have been using this company for years. Patrick has always been fair and let's me know what I need to get my unit fixed. He will also let me know what may need repair in the future, but never pushes me to get that done at the time he is here. Today we had David come by and he is a nice addition to Patrick's business. It was a simple fix and he got here in a timely manner and was nice to chat with and then was on his way. Thanks to Sierra Aire for being my go to business for HVAC repairs. read more

It has been six years since I originally called Patrick. Now our new unit needs servicing. Of course, we will be getting Patrick over to help us. Also, I have recommended Patrick to friends. We are looking forward to actually meeting what we are assuming to be this amazing man! Update: I called and David walked me through a trouble shooting exercise. Checked to confirm the outside unit is running and the copper line is cold, etc. Then he asked how long it had been since I changed the filter. Yikes! Changed the filter and all is good. Saved an emergency call. I still haven't paid them a dime. Can't say enough good things about these guys. I've requested a tune up from them as we have a lot of people coming to a 70 year old's birthday party so we want to be confident the AC will keep up. read more

Great service and reasonable pricing. Where other companies wanted to sell us a whole new AC unit, these guys were willing to actually fix the problem so we can get a few more years out of our system. We had two (unrelated) problems this year and both David and Patrick were very knowledgeable and really looked to bring solutions. In fact, our last one was just a loose connection and they took care of it in just a few minutes (after I was ready to buy a $700 motor from them). A couple days later, David even reached out to make sure our heat was still working. Highly recommend these guys for their great work, honest advice, excellent service, and thorough work. read more
