This is a disappointing review to write because I was initially really happy with them, and the…read moreexperience went downhill pretty quick. We used GM for both siding and exterior paint, at first they were extremely communicative, friendly, and the siding project itself seemed to go fine other than a few mishaps. With the siding, we loved how it looked but the work crew lacked professionalism. They left nails all over our yard, ripped bushes out of the ground on a carefully lined walkway, and pulled our front bushes down so aggressively they've never come back up and will have to be ripped out. The nails were a huge concern because we have a dog, and had we run one over with a mower that could have been dangerous for us as well. Months later we are still finding them. The contractors did compensate us for the bush they trampled. On to the paint. The painting contractors were awful from start to (never really) finished. They were unprofessional, left things in our trees and bushes, left garbage around our house and yard, trampled the bushes we had just replaced from the contractors (we weren't reimbursed this time), moved our fence post to a crooked location that we can't fix. Beyond that, we had a dark gray color with white trim, if you've ever painted over a dark color with white you know you have to have MANY coats to not have seep through of the darker color. For some reason, they painted all of it the dark color and then went over the trim with white, so in many areas you can see the bleed through of the gray. It looks tacky and like we DIY'd it. Additionally, we asked for the garage to be painted white and they painted it dark gray like the house.. when we asked them to fix it, they didn't open it to paint so as soon as we opened the garage it cracked on the bending panel and the insulation came out. I got in contact with the contractors right away and Kara said she would send someone out. She didn't, and that was now almost 3 months ago and they've completely ghosted us with a broken garage. They've also left their porta potty in front of our house this entire time (3 months and counting). Our neighbors across the street also hired them for siding and paint and they've also completely ghosted them for the paint. We initially would have recommended them but they ended up screwing us over so I'd go anywhere else.

Goran and Kara went above and beyond at every step of the way. They delivered top quality work, were always on time, followed through on all promises, provided a porta-potty of the crew, and are honest and good people. I met with dozens of siding and roofing experts in the PDX metro area and made a very calculated choice to work with this company, and I am happy about my decision. I recommend them for anything related to siding, trim or paint.

I want to give Better Homes the highest review possible. Their work is excellent, they are very…read moreprofessional and their prices are quite reasonable. We first used them a few years ago to side our 100-year-old home. They removed the original siding, made repairs to the sheathing of the home, as needed, then wrapped the house with a hydro-wrap, that would ensure that if water ever did get behind the siding at some future time, it would just shed from the house. They used Hardi plank siding and matched the reveal and surface to match the original siding. They replaced all window trim (why not since all the siding is replaced?) and matched the original design. They discovered that the corbels (knee brackets) that stuck out from the house at the roof were rotted, so we replaced all of them. They only use Benjamin Moore paint, which they have found lasts longest. Our house was sided by them 3 years ago and the paint, including on the south facing side, looks as good as the day they painted it with two coats. Now, we have just built a tiny house in our rear yard. I called Scott to come and give a quote. It was very reasonable and we knew that if we used Better Homes, we would get excellent work. They just finished today and the tiny house looks fantastic. They trimmed the door and windows to look like the main home, so there's a nice design consistency. Throughout the process, Scott Herndon has visited the site every day, met with me and answered any questions I had satisfactorily. As a final note, if I could give a score about 5 stars that Google allows, I would do that. Go with Better Homes, you won't be disappointed!

Scott and his team exceeded my expectations at every step - contract/pricing, windows, siding, painting, custom details, timeline and clean-up. I cannot overstate how anxious I was over this large and unfamiliar work so communication was a key factor for me and Scott never disappointed. He was either at the job site or called/texted me virtually every day and responded promptly when I contacted him. This may not be what everyone needs, but Scott recognized that I did and it was very reassuring during the turmoil of the renovation. My house is small, but almost 50 years old and had two layers of siding with no underlayment. There were hundreds of nails poking through the soffit, wires and service boxes attached all over the old siding, potential dry rot and rusty bars over most of the windows and doors. Add an assertive, anxious homeowner with some unusual custom finish requests and you will understand better the challenges Better Homes Inc was facing. Scott is very experienced, knows current building codes, and manufacturers' installation guidelines and can clearly explain the reasoning for these necessary steps and materials. This experience also means that he also has a great variety of suggestions for sound design options and will share the pros and cons of those options. He also has good working connections with other professionals so was able to arrange for electricians and a gutter installation during the precise dates when that work needed to be completed within my project. Since the completion of this project, more than a dozen knowledgeable neighbors have stopped by. They have complemented not just the final results, but also the quality of the workmanship they observed over the course of the full replacement of my home's exterior. I had already recognized this, but these discussions have confirmed my own opinion - and the drive to share this experience and recommendation. Finally, Scott is kind and respectful with his crew, as well as with this female homeowner. During the unavoidable upheaval of a remodel, those are invaluable and rare traits. Please do contact Scott at Better Homes, Inc. I am sure you will be happy with their excellent quality of work.

Jeremy the gentleman that gave us the estimate was responding promptly at first but now is mia. The crew that sided our house stepped up and used our AC unit as a ladder and dented it. We just purchased it a year ago. They say they are going to pay for the repair but waiting for confirmation of that. They want too much of the money up front which seems to make them lose interest. 90% before the job is done. This star value could change if things look up. Update: Job was finished and work was done well. Continue with having the company credit us on the final bill for the air conditioner repair we already paid for. We have the pictures of their worker standing on the unit and the dent it cause. The salesman that does the estimates are very professional and make you feel like the company knows what they're doing. But not an actual representation of the workers and billing department. I will change the rating to a 3 because the work was good.

From start to finish they were fantastic. Orest came out for a free estimate, gave us a clear plan and a fair, firm price, and stuck to it. The work was fast but incredibly high quality -- they matched our wall texture and blended the paint so well you genuinely can't tell where the openings used to be, and the siding repairs look seamless. They even went above and beyond, tackling an extra spot we hadn't asked about. Great communication throughout, and genuinely friendly, kind people who take pride in their work. We could not be happier with how everything turned out, and we'll absolutely be hiring OrCo again for our next round of home projects! Highly recommend!

They each seem to have their own areas of specialization; Orest is amazing with logistics, one of his brothers is remarkable with tile, and the other brother seems to be a dependable and friendly jack of all trades! I've hired OrCo for two projects, tiling my sunporch as well as my kitchen and dining room. The sunporch was quick and painless, and their master tiler whipped it out in a day. The kitchen was a bit more of a challenge given the age of my home, unlevel surfaces, and surprise layers of linoleum lurking below what we thought was the bottom layer of flooring. The OrCo brothers were consumate professionals despite these challenges, and by some miracle they were still able to finish the job on time. Honestly, I still don't know how they did it! I love my floors! It's been several weeks since they finished the work, and every morning when I step into my kitchen I look upon the results with joy. I don't know why I didn't contact OrCo sooner! The floor is level, the grout is holding up, and the floors sparkle when I walk in the room. I sourced OrCo in the Projects section of Yelp, and their bid was one of the first responses I received when I published my request for proposal. What I love about the Yelp Projects Workspace is that approved vendors come with a $2500 guarantee from Yelp. That means if the project goes south, or I'm not pleased with the work, Yelp has me covered! OrCo came in with the second lowest bid, and I confidently booked the work based on their positive reviews and the Yelp guarantee. I am looking forward to hiring OrCo again. I don't have a lot of experience tackling big home projects like this, so next time I would like to have more options when it comes to finishing touches like the trim and thresholds for the doorways. I probably would have picked something different than what they provided... but that's on me. Thanks for all your hard work, OrCo! I'm very happy with the finished product.
