I have had Frontier Utilities as my electric company for 2 years. I am at the end of my 24 month contract and have been extremely pleased with this companies service. I am not an employee, stock holder or related to an employee. I am the average electric user just trying to get a fair deal. I received notification from Frontier that my contract was about to expire in early June. They sent an offer with variable rates. I knew my contract was coming to the end, so I was researching companies on "PowertoChoose.org" website. Frontier is the best overall for my needs. The other companies look like a great deal with their kwh rates, but when you start adding on all of the additional fees they do not compare with Frontier. There are also some companies that look better, until you find out that they are not accredited with the BBB. I spoke with the Frontier representative and asked if I had missed any cheaper products, and indeed I had. He sent me the Fact Sheet on a 100% Renewable Product. I am so excited, I can now go GREEN and save some green! Best of both worlds. Thank you Frontier. You really should consider this company. read more

If you want to be robbed, this is the one for you! This was by far the worst experience I've had with an energy company. I just moved & thankfully was able to switch over to a much better, responsible, & actually accommodating company. I went from paying $200+ for under 700 square feet to paying under $100 for 1000 square feet. I previously lived in a 1 bed 1 bath apartment, (as I mentioned) less than 700 square feet. With this company, I have consistently paid more than $200 each month, which is ridiculous. That is more than my parents' bill & they live in a 3 bed 2 bath house in the same area. I moved out in March & they charged me $276.70. I was only in the apartment from the 1st-15th. I had my service canceled on the 16th. So how is the bill that high?? Absolutely horrible & I would recommend literally any other company than Frontier. Their customer service is terrible & failed to address my concerns. I was redirected 6-7 times, probably because the agents I spoke to couldn't come up with an explanation either. When I called to schedule my service to be canceled, I was suddenly offered a "cheaper" rate. the worst company you can ever go with for electricity. my service address was assigned to a account that i had no knowledge of when i called to make a payment it went to an old account thats was assigned to my address (never in my name ) its been 30 days and i still have no refund they turned off my lights after saying they were going to transfer the funds to reflect on my actual account. my son is on a ventilator and we have no power and all they can say is sorry for the mix up on there behalf. im so disappointed with this company never had this happened to me in life. they should be banned read more

Wow, wish I came here before for reviews. I felt like my bills have been high this past year with them and switched providers as close the my billing period as possible. They billed me a week earlier than usual! So I didn't get the usage credit and still have to wait for one more weeks worth of usage billing. This is ridiculous. I requested help in paying my electric bill. Instead of Frontier Utilities helping me, they instead disconnected my electricity twice for not paying my bill. I had a medical condition, i.e. renal failure, which prevented me from getting a job. I ask for help in hopes that this would give me time to get my finances in order. My power was scheduled for service on the 10/19 and Centerpoint said they never received an order request from Frontier. It's the 20th and I have had to throw away food from the refrigerator, I have missed a 12 hour work shift and in jeopardy of missing my schedule 7am start of work Monday 10/21. We moved to Graham, Texas in June 2022. The all-electric house we selected did not have a suitable electrical power history to gauge from so, we were left somewhat in the dark (no pun intended). We looked through Power to Choose and selected Frontier based on what we suspected was a reasonable plan. OH DID WE GET FOOLED!!! Our usage was quite a bit higher than expected (recall all-electric home) and the bill was also. The rate they charged for the power we used resulted in a very high bill in comparison to the house size. Needless to say, we are looking elsewhere. The company cheated people with the $100 credit if using from 1001 to 1999kw per month. It sounds very promising. BUT when they calculate the rate, they were not honest in reading the meter. My friend told me about this, so I monitor my meter closely and found out they took the number in the way that my reading fell below 1000 kw, so they charge me a higher rate. This is a horrible electric company. They have false advertisements on their plans. They will overcharge you each month for electricity even if you have a fixed rate. They will not disclose TDU charges to you, they will just double-bill you on the TDU charges. They will not help resolve your issues with billing whatsoever. And if you're ever late on a bill don't expect any forewarning they'll turn stuff off, they just do it. Not to mention you can call 5 times in 3 hours to get it turned back on but they'll just hang up on you or tell you to wait 15 more minutes until it's been 4 hours since your request so they can send another one in and make you wait even longer. FYI they were revoked from BBB. How come we didn't use pretty much any electricity/power for a month but we were charged twice as much as we spend on a regular month? Then we asked to check our meter and ... they had to change it because it was bad. I asked for that month to be adjusted (disputed) and they kept going back and forth for 6 months until I had to pay for the electricity we didn't use. BTW, before this incident I had to pay high electricity bills for 3 months. They sell electricity, they don't solve any problems or really dispute your case against center point. I would be extremely cautious before entering into agreement for service with the company. They do not return calls as promised to resolve issues, hold times are typically in excess of 45 minutes to 1 hour before you are able to speak to a person. I has asked for a supervisor to resolve the issue and - they DO NOT call back. They do not honor the promises made nor do they pay attention to details . This company makes fraudulent activities and do not carry any responsibility afterwards. Chronology of events: 1) I had a 10-month contract from August 17, 2019 to June 17, 2020. 2) I had a new roommate who moved in April 2020. 3) He called Frontier Utilities to add his name to the service so that he can also make a payment. But instead Frontier Utilities cancelled the service with me, which I NEVER REQUESTED OR APPROVED and opened a new service on his name. 4) Right after that, Frontier Utilities sent me cancellation fees, I called the office to dispute the charge since I did not request cancellation, there was miscommunication between FRONTIER UTILITIES and my new roommate. I was still under the lease on that address and we were still paying Frontier Utilities for electricity, obviously, I did not want any cancellation of the service and asked the representative to return the service back if that possible to do. Frontier Utilities notified me that if they still provide the service to that address, they WILL REMOVE THE CANCELLATION FEES. I sent an email later that day to make sure everything is documented in written and that I NEVER REQUESTED CANCELLATION OF THE SERVICE. 5) Frontier Utilities continued to provide the service to that address until June 18 and then my roommate switched the service to his new address after the lease ended on that address. 6) Of course, Frontier Utilities did not check anything even though I called several times and wrote emails. This is the worst electric company I've had the displeasure of using in my entire life. I've never had to contact my electric company and much as this one and I've lived in several states. The customer service team does not listen to concerns fully in regards to your account and they continuously miscommunicate and misinform their customers about their policies. They consistently contradict each other when giving clarity and the customer is penalized for the short comings of the company. The kwh rates are exorbitant and the phrasing is misleading when applying for a plan. They also advertise that you are able to get your deposit back but I was given 2 different time frames from two different customer service reps of when that was possible and no specifics on the stipulations that prevent you from receiving that refund back until it was time to collect. If you want to pay more and be frustrated due to misinformation on their end, feel free to sign up but I assure you, once I'm finished with my contract, I'm moving on to another company. read more

I've been calling since Thursday, April 30th about an issue brought up by the service rep. I was told that the issue had to be escalated and I'd receive a call back the same day. I never received the call. I called the next day, Friday, and the exact same thing happened. I called the following day, today, May 2, and a supervisor by the name of Melvin (he said his employee number is 505) ensured me that he could help. During this call, Melvin raised his voice at me several times and called me incompetent. I had to completely deescalate the matter as if I was the worker and he was the customer. I am no longer interested in your service and I'd like to take the necessary steps to escalate this matter. I originally selected Frontier because of the great reviews and affordable price.
