But I can commend them that my power didn't go out even when we had power outages and blackouts for several years in Dallas. I would give them NEGATIVE-10! was with them for 8 years, went out of town for 6 weeks, and missed a couple of emails since i get so much spam... they only emailed me one disconnection notice of which I missed and then never sent me another and just kept on sending me latest bills indicating my bill was due at a specific date and I assumed I was on track. No follow up emails warning me or telling me im overdue! WORSE COMMUNICATION PROCESS FOR DISCONNECTION! See attachment... just says bill is due on the 9th of February. No indication of over due account or cancellation. They even cancelled my account!!!! They had no compassion or willing to help me get it back faster or give me some compensation. Tried enrolling in new EV plan, but after submitting order, Champion revealed security deposit that was required, but not communicated on front end. After talking to customer service, it will not be waived despite a 800+ credit score. I also have to wait 10 days in order to cancel this order now, and phone support is unable to cancel per my request. HORRIBLE. Run from this company and find another. The service USED to be good but since Covid they totally suck. The website doesn't work, they don't answer emails and forget about calling unless you want to hold for hours and then get disconnected. Don't sign a contract with them. On October 25th I requested for my service to be TRANSFERRED November 4th to a new unit, same apartment complex. I stated I'd be permanently moved out on the 5th, but they said that was a Sunday and they'd transfer me the 4th. Apparently during the call they said the account transfers on the 4th but closes the old account on DEC 6th and I didn't catch that..admittedly I was multitasking, traveling for work and just tryna get it done. However.. I'm not thinking they are charging me for two apartments. Especially when I stated I'd be officially moved the 5th..When I tell them we will be living in the new apartment on a specific date WHY WOULD I PAY FOR ANOTHER APARTMENTS ELECTRICITY IM NOT LIVING IN. So Nov 14, after I've traveled more for work I catch up on emails and get a weekly report for two apartments. I catch the mistake and call them. Then they placed the blame on me saying I agreed to that and it was in the email and I should of checked. I ask why would I pay for two places??. I wasn't explicitly told I'd be charged for two apartments and wasn't explicitly asked if I wanted to continue paying for the old unit. They said they assumed and don't ask cause many people do it for different reasons. But from me saying we are moving and will be in a new place by a certain date you can't ASSUME I'm NOT paying for another unit?? and when I say TRANSFER, I'd assume I would pay for ONE place. Absolute BS. They cut off the service at the old place after I got pissed but I pay for that week or so. It's not even just about the money but the principle. I am now going on well over a year with Champion Energy. Still on the same "Champ Saver-24" plan and rate. My contract ends this coming August and as of right now I am planning on resigning with this company because I have enjoyed the ride so far! Here is a summary of my previous reviews for those that don't want to read through them. There are several different plans to meet anybody's needs. Some plans have incentives, for instance the one I chose offers $50 in LED light bulbs, as well as a $50 rebate when purchasing a smart thermostat. I can confirm that Champion Energy does honor both of those (they will send a separate email with instructions on how to redeem after you sign up). The LED light bulbs are still working and I haven't purchased any additional since receiving the $50 voucher. When I moved apartments, Champion Energy transferred my electricity plan without hassle. Same plan, same rate, and it only took one phone call. Besides that I am also very appreciative of their "Connect-A-Friend" program. You don't have to sign up for it as it is automatic upon selecting a plan. They will assign you a unique referral ID that allows you to earn credit each time someone signs up using your ID. I've found them to be very helpful and responsive when I have questions: very easy to reach. More importantly, they've gone above and beyond to make things right when I've had concerns with anything. Sounds like they recently went thru a "system migration" which has caused me issues in simply paying my bill. I have been paying my bill via their site for months with no issues. Now, issues are apparently the new norm. Customer service appears to be unable to answer pretty basic questions. They are unable to explain why the normal payment methods which are presented to a Champion customer when they login no longer work. They can offer workarounds to pay your bill though. If the workaround is what a customer should be doing to pay their bills, perhaps that should be the option presented to a customer when they login. I have sent emails to "info" and "customercaremanager" and haven't heard a thing. At this point, it would be surprising to hear back. I do sympathize with their "customer service" folks as they are typically the last to be updated on changes and are tasked with assisting paying customers. The price per kWh is pretty low compared to other providers and plans, and Champion's online tools are great. This company is a complete scam. Do not use. They will bill you completely differently than what they tell you. They sell you one thing at a low rate per kWh and then tell you it includes all fees.
