This was my first time flying Frontier, and I'll never do it again. I wrote them a review for their personal database, but I also want to share it publicly with potential customers. Please disregard any typos. I wrote in a fury and in one attempt in their small text box;
On my flight towards Fort Lauderdale, FL from Dulles airport, I was denied free water and then the second time I asked for a small cup of water, the stewardess "forgot." The seats were incredibly stiff and uncomfortable and small, and we landed late and then were stuck waiting in the plane for ~20 minutes.
On my flight back, flight 1099 was supposed to leave at 7:20 on Monday, but after I already arrived at the airport, the flight was drastically delayed to 11:54. When I asked why, I was given no response and then rudely told to move by one of the hr representatives.The flight was then delayed a bunch more times until it was ultimately cancelled. The hr staff, while trying to field upset travelers, were not helpful or caring. They did not behave well -- they rolled their eyes, murmured to one another and gave short, one word quips. They said the flight was cancelled due to inclement weather -- inclement weather where? There were numerous flights departing from Florida and arriving at DC concurrently. No other airline had problems, and no other airline tried to lie about their inadequacies. Then, after the big crowd died down, I walked up to the staff hoping to avoid the heated discussion that had ensued earlier. Apparently, it was already told that the EARLIEST frontier could reroute everyone was Friday (it was Monday), but I missed that. When I asked if there were any other flights leaving that night, one of the police officers -- not one of the dismissive staff members who were so young and immature that someone could have told me they were teenagers and I would have believed it -- replied to me with an extremely dismissive no. I responded, "It was just a question" and gave a smug look, to which the officer responded "did you think I was being rude?" I said yes, and she said "well then you don't know what rude is. I rolled my eyes and turned to my phone, and then a second police officer -- this time a man -- told me to "get out. leave, kid ... now." I asked what I did wrong and then walked away at least 50 paces out, now next to a new gate; I was attempting to get in contact with someone to pick me up. The police offers followed me and the man took out his handcuffs, telling me if I don't listen and get out then he'll handcuff me and force me out. Let me just remind everyone that the gates are a public place, I was not doing anything illegal -- I wasn't even speaking -- and my flight was just cancelled abruptly and I had no where to go for 4 days. Police officers -- regardless if they're mall cops or part of the SWAT team -- are meant to upload the law, not create it. 7 different people followed and assisted me after this situation, making sure I was okay and deriding the ignorant and rude cops. Both cops ridiculed me the entire time and your staff did not help -- they laughed. Then, when I called the airlines to ask for guidance with booking a new flight (this was my third time calling, the first two times I never got off hold. I was on the phone, waiting for a combined time of 34 minutes), I finally got off hold after 36 minutes (even though the machine said it would take only 17 minutes), and when I initiated the conversation, things went from bad to worse. I said "hello, I'm calling with regards to flight 1099, etc. etc. etc., and then AFTER I FINISHED TALKING, the representative said "hello? i'm sorry I can't hear you." Then I interjected, and the representative stopped talking and then when I stopped, he began again. IF YOU CANNOT HEAR ME, THEN WHY ARE YOU STOPPING WHEN I'M SPEAKING AND SPEAKING WHEN I'M STOPPING??? Then, I waiting in the long time to speak to a representative back at the help desk at the ticket booth outside the gates, and when it was my turn in line, the representative never called my name. After 5 minutes of idle waiting, I asked "are you free" to which she responded without looking at me "ya." It took her curt response and walked up with a smile. A fake smile, but a smile nonetheless. When I asked for the manager's name, she told me I couldn't have it. When I asked for the CEO's name, she told me to look it up myself, all with a smug glower. Then when I persisted to have the manager's name, she had a male representative come over and he laughed and said "it's me. put my name down." Now I knew it wasn't him, because they gave the person before me another representative's name when they asked for the manager. It was ridiculous, demeaning, immature, unprofessional and rude. I did not get back for my 5 classes at Georgetown, which at 184 dollars per class, is about 922 dollars total. Frontier overall was unhelpful, rude, and terrible. I am so displeased with both the upper-level operations and hr-representation. read more
