Great and fast service! Answered all our questions and helped us make our decision on what we wanted. Absolutely delicious potato cooked to perfection and very soft! Enough food for two people so we shared. Great value at $18 for two people to eat!

Stopped here for a pre-dinner snack after one of Noah's soccer games at City Park. It's slightly northwest of the town, and sober didn't find a huge crowd there. As we pulled up, I noticed they also have a drive thru for those in the mood for bbq on the go. There is inside and outside seating available. The day was great for outside dining, but Noah picked a bench on the inside. The indoors is decorated with Texas Ranger history and stories, longhorn skull, and snake skins...rustic ranch style. Noah settled for a sausage sandwich kids meal. It comes with one side. He went with the cream of corn. Noah had no issues with the sausage sandwich, but was less than impressed with the corn. He wanted something else mid bite. I ordered the loaded baked potato. The potato comes loaded with diced onions, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, chives, all under a heap of chopped beef. One, it's a lot of spud. Was it good, hmmmm...maybe not, but you won't go hungry. I am not a fan of chopped beef - it's the sauce. I think if it were just the chopped brisket, it would have tasted better. Service was fine. We were greeted and helped with our order. Fritze's also doesn't have beer. So, I settled for a sweet tea. They also have a fountain drink machine. Noah got a Big Red. I don't see myself coming back, but I would recommend something other than the baked potato or the corn.

Brisket taco special (bbq sauce, pico and salsa not in photo)

Ordered one of the specials - brisket tacos. They tasted good! Came with bbq sauce, salsa and pico. Meat on it's own was fairly salty. Once you add the salsa and pico, it was a good balance of flavor. I wish the salsa was spicier... but that's a personal preference as I love spicy salsa on the tacos. Their selection for dessert... yes to everything. Their brownie and chocolate chip cookie were very tasty! I would go again just for their baked goods. Service was good! They communicated orders to each other great! They were very kind. We came in right before the lunch rush. Even as it was busy, it was a very nice place to sit and enjoy your food. Was not too loud as the seats filled up.

Great BBQ, quick services, it is tight spaces to sit-down. Better take out. Still recommended to try it out!

I love the industrial vibe of the place. It was a rainy Saturday and the place wasn't particularly busy, so the service was good! Our server was friendly and knowledgable about the menu, and the food, while small in portion size (they are tapas, after all) was delicious. We started with the tostadas de chorizo and the house sangria. Both were super tasty. Then we ordered the chistorra (Spanish sausage) and pan con tomate, and finally we shared the albondiga...a giant meatball that was perfection. Can't wait to go back to Boerne and have some more Spanish goodness!

Our friendly young male server suggested a new Portuguese beer that just came out. It comes in a 4-pack, 6.8 oz bottles with convenient pull-tabs & on a bucket of ice. We went for it! Not bitter, light bodied & easy to drink. We savored the ambiance in the outdoor patio as it FINALLY cooled down to the low 70s! We were given water in a carafe and 2 glasses. I'm sensitive to the taste of municipal tap water so I should've asked if it was filtered water? You'll have to ask for ice cubes if you want ice. Our tapas were the scallops ceviche tostadas(2 tortillas holding them) & a flatbread with Serrano jamon, sliced pears, melted brie, onions & drizzled balsamic glaze. Hubs liked it but I thought it was lukewarm & skimpy on the ham. The cheese wasn't gooey & cooled off. Was slightly gamey to me. He loved his scallop ceviche tostada. The restaurant wasn't very occupied but our server said it gets pretty packed in the evening esp. when there's live music. More people came in when we were almost finished eating. We ate outside because they must have just disinfected & mopped the floors because the inside had a super strong chemical smell. Lots of metal tables and chairs in the patio.

This upscale-ish restaurant is located in the Elian Hotel at La Cantera. We picked this place for…read moreRestaurant Week because we wanted something new. We were greeted as soon as we entered. Valet is complimentary when dining at the restaurant. That is particularly helpful in this cold weather. When we entered the restaurant the dining area was empty. There were a few patrons at the bar but no one at any dining tables. Maybe a sign?? The reviews on Google and Yelp are all over the place. The decor is nice but the seating is a little outdated and worn. I can understand this, though, because I am sure they get a lot of family traffic being a hotel so close to Six Flags. Our waiter, Robert, came right over to take our order. He was friendly and personable. The Restaurant Week menu had two choices for each course, so my friend and I ordered everything so we could try it. First up, the appetizers were poblano and corn soup or heirloom tomato salad with blue cheese. The soup was delicious but was not very hot temperature-wise. The salad is a beautiful idea, but the tomatoes were just bad. They were out of season, mushy, and tasteless. I love tomatoes, so I was disappointed. Next up entrees. My friend had the braised short rib with beans and rice. I had the Redfish with rice and green beans. The short rib was excellent, but it came out at room temperature. Considering we were the only ones there that was a red flag. My fish was seasoned well, and I enjoyed it, but it was room temperature also. Is there a draft in the kitchen? Other reviews mentioned their food was not hot so it seems like a trend. For the amount you pay, the food should be piping hot when it comes to the table. Finally, we got to dessert. I had the creme Brulee cheesecake and my friend had the campfire dark chocolate torte. The desserts were delicious with no complaints at all. This place has a lot of potential, but there are too many restaurants in San Antonio, so you have to make a positive impact on your customers, so they want to return.

Pro Tip: Just make a reservation way in advance and if you make it you make it. Even if you don't think you will be able to make it. If you can't go just cancel with enough advance. We started with the Meatballs that pair wonderfully with their Italian Bread. Flavorful and plentiful dish and def get the bread! Next came the Bone Marrow & Tuna Crudo. I will say though for some reason after we finished our Meatballs it took them quite a while to bring our dishes after that. Bone Marrow was divine and also paired well with the Italian Bread. Tuna Crudo was not what I expected because it was warm and I was expecting it to be cold. But it was good and I love eggplant. Our main dish was the Agnolotti Alla Piemontese. From the description it seemed to hit all the boxes since we are meat lovers (contains braised beef & pork shoulder) and truffle. I love me some truffle. When we ordered the Agnolotti Alla Piemontese I asked him does it have a lot of truffle flavor because I love truffle. He said oh we can definitely add more truffle if you would like when the dish comes out. When the dish came they had the chef come shave an extra truffle on the dish. I honestly could not taste the difference. Was not enough truffle flavor for me. Note the extra truffle is an added charge. Overall lovely experience. If we return we will need to try some different dishes to give it another try.
