Great restaurant in Boerne! Brought a group of 12 here for a "corporate" dinner and had plenty to choose from. They certainly specialize in steak. We started with a few appetizers, crab cakes, meatballs, and oysters. I only enjoyed the meatballs, since I have a shellfish allergies, but all of the appetizers appear to have been enjoyed. I had the dijon chicken and we ordered au gratins, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The only low point was being told the sides would be enough for the table and the mashed potatoes and asparagus were really only enough for 2, maybe 3. Oh well, we just ordered more! Lots of rooms but we were seated at one long table which was nice. We had the room to ourselves. We ordered appetizers of meatballs, crab cakes and oysters. My favorite was the crab cake, meaty and crunchy on the outside, different but still good. I think this might be a favorite crab cake for me. My meal was Tampico shrimp and I enjoyed it. Of course with all the appetizers, I only had a couple of shrimp and ate the rest later. We shared sides, my favorite was mac and cheese. Like a fancy French restaurant. We started with freshly baked crusty rolls and compound butter. The endive salad could easily be an appetizer. It was easy to pick up and take a bite. The flavors were excellent. We also shared the prosciutto wrapped asparagus with cheese on a crostini. I needed to cut it to eat it, but was excellent. He had a shrimp salad that he said it was like having a wedge salad. Super fresh tasting. I had been wanting to eat French onion soup and theirs did not disappoint! Let the bread cool off a bit before you eat that. The cheese pull was amazing. Madison was excellent and kept making sure my water was filled and was very pleasant. I'm sure the food is very good here-- if you actually get some. Our reservation was for 7:15, they were busy, which I understand. But the fact of the matter is that we were sat for 45 minutes and only after 30 were we given water by the host, and one slice of bread. Not only were we not served, another couple sat down much after us and was helped immediately. Our drink order was taken by the host, fifteen minutes goes by, and we haven't received anything! I had my annual birthday meal today, a long-standing tradition for decades now. The service is always impeccable as is the ambiance- check and check! The menu changed, so I tried the chicken with pasta meal, and it was delicious, as was the escargot (though it needed salt). One of the things I always look forward to is the beautiful, crusty bread. Unfortunately, they changed it up and the replacement was not great. At all. Word of advice. Don't change the things that make your establishment worth coming back to. Consistency is important and the reason people return. The bread is a staple and such an item, and I hope y'all will consider bringing it back. Please, if you can, avoid this place. We traveled from out of town and were looking forward to to eating here and were extremely disappointed. With prices like these, you would expect sub-par service at minimum and we unfortunately didn't even receive that. Our wait times were extremely long, including taking over 15 mins just to recieve our canned sodas despite there not being anyone else in the restaurant. The food was just ok, and at the end of our trip our bill was mixed up with another party's resulting in us being charged almost double for a bill that did not even belong to us. Although a bit tricky to find if you are not from the area, the location makes you feel like you've taken a step back in time. The night before, at 3 pm, I receive a call saying they have changed the night to a prix fixe menu at $110 pp. When making our reservations this was not advertised on their website or open table which was confirmed by the host as well. A highly mediocre experience. The restaurant was lovely, and the ambiance was beautiful. It is right on the river and it had wonderful views. Our server did well. He forgot half our order, but he did well. The other server there kept looking at us like we were somehow a burden to her. If you don't like how we are dressed (or whatever her issue was), keep it to yourself. The food was fair at best. The high-priced hamburger looked like it came from Wendy's (their burgers are better). I expect more for the price point. The rest of the food had more plate than food. One of our favorite places to go for lunch or dinner. You can not beat the service, it's excellent, hands down! The food is always consistent and very good. We love the escargot for starters, with espresso martini's. The escargot is one of the best I've ever had. The salads are delicious and not weighted down with dressing. On Saturday nights they bring you a poblano soup / OMG we all loved creamy hot flavored not too spicy soup with crusty bread and butter. Soooo good. The pasta was so mediocre. It was not fresh pasta (or at least it did not taste fresh) and the scallops were tiny and overcooked. It was coated in crushed red pepper flakes which was unexpected. (The sauce is described as a "garlic pepperoncini" sauce - This did not taste like pepperoncinis). To their credit they remade it to take home, but the remake was just bland and had the same issues with the seafood. The shrimp tampico entree was overly breaded however the flavors were good. SAVING GRACE... the apple tart and espresso cocktail were both amazing (definitely get the tart a la mode, the ice cream was delicious). Service was amazing. read more

What a great restaurant with just the right ambiance both inside and outside. The wait staff was excellent and the place was very clean. They had a great menu all around and the wine selection was to die for. We had some great bread and butter w a pino and malbec glasses of wine and then our fresh salad that started us off right. I just stopped in over the weekend for lunch and this restaurant is situated by Cibolo Creek just off Main St. You cant see it from the busy street so finding it is a bit tricky. The view is gorgeous and the interior of the reataurant is charming and should be romantic for dinnertime. I ordered the red fish tacos for my meal and there was a total of two with a strange garnish of green something on top. The presentation was nice but it had no flavor very bland. Not even a good red sauce on the fish. Disappointed for 22bucks. This place has so much potential. Always taste the food before you serve it to your customers. BTW the service was great. read more

The Creek is a wonderful local gem with adorable ambiance. Location has lovely vintage and antique pieces and the service is excellent. The food, however, can be hit or miss. Cocktails: Their martini was excellent, but their Empress 75 (cheaper take on a French 75 with Prosecco instead of champagne) was not my favorite. Appetizer: The calamari, although beautifully presented garnished with flowers, was undercooked. The batter was a bit mushy, not crispy as desired. Salad: Their salads are wonderful mainly because all of their dressings are made in house. They have a wide range of options, all sounded delicious. I opted for the balsamic which was excellent. Entrees: I got the $90 lobster so you don't have to! The pasta was delicious and the lobster was high quality and very good size for the price, however, it was undercooked and a bit stringy. The shrimp tampico was excellent, and just the right amount of spicy. Porterhouse was one of the nightly specials, but worth ordering if they're offering it! Dessert: The peach cobbler was my favorite part of the meal. Although I've never had peach cobbler that includes chocolate, it was light and it worked! Hostess and busser were spot on with seating and water requests, setting up the table. Server was quick and patient as we perused a new-to-us menu and wine list. We ordered Shrimp Tampico and a Prime Ribeye. We each meant to order a side but forgot at the moment - and we weren't asked. When the food was brought, she said she'd be right back with the wine - but she didn't clear the empty cocktail glasses on the edge of the table. Waiting on wine, I noticed that my steak was missing horseradish cream. She brought the horseradish - having a heard time to find room on the table with two empty bread plates and two empty glasses. I commented that I meant to order a side. She smiled and walked off. The steak was really good. The shrimp were all different. Good, over cooked, undercooked, funky looking. Ate most, left some. We never had a chance to relay anything to the server because the next time we saw her was when we were done and she cleared the table. No checking in during service. Another server was in our section and he checked his two tables frequently. We'll try it again based on the ambiance and the steak. The setting and the service are impeccable, as is the cuisine. We had a less than successful visit this time as we were a large group of 80 year olds. My Mother had requested that because of the age of the group that they be seated in the smaller room near the entrance. At the last minute, the group was moved to the larger room.
