Dinner/supper was subpar. I am not an excellent cook and I could have cooked the meals served. And not been terribly impressed with my own results. So, a 2.5/5 for evening dining. Breakfast, on the other hand, which we had the next day, was fantastic and I would give it a 5/5. So let's call it a 3.5 in total. But I will give it a 3 since most will be looking for dinner. You will be underwhelmed. My advice: find another resto in Boerne for dinner. If you are spending the night at Tapatio springs, it is an excellent place for breakfast. Brisket hash, avocado toast and pancakes. They didn't have a brunch type menu- just an everyday type. This is my second time here, the other was for lunch. Service was good each time but the food was pretty forgettable EXCEPT for the pancakes I had today. Fully redeemed and I will be back for those. Thin with just the right amount of chew, and perfectly cooked-delicious. Avocado toast with asparagus and grilled tomatoes with over medium eggs- just ok. They need to separate the hot items that were making the bread kinda soggy even tho it was really thick and not really toasted. Eggs were well cooked and perfectly over medium. Brisket hash- I just had a bite of the meat and I would rate it a 2.5. We ordered 1 pancake to share and ended up ordering another as it was so tasty. We stayed at the resort over the memorial day weekend. The atmosphere was great, there is plenty of seating and the tables were nicely spaced out. The main clubhouse was rebuilt after the fire and they did not spare any expense it looks amazing. The restaurant looked over the golf course so it was good people watching. There is also a lawn that had some lawn games that you could people watch. The food was great! We went for lunch one day with the intention of going to town for dinner. Joke was on us. More on that later. The lunch and dinner selection was similar. My husband got the fish and chips and it was really good. I really liked the fries/potato wedges, I probably stole more than my fair share of his fries. I got the BBQ Mac and Cheese and it was good, the portion was on the smaller size but it was perfect and filling. It did take a while for our food to come out because there were larger tables around us but we weren't in a rush and had plenty of people watching to do. Well turns out most things closed early on Sunday in town so we didn't go into town for dinner. We went to the pool and decided to eat at the restaurant again for dinner since it was convenient and good. We decided to share the chicken fried steak and get a couple of side dishes to share as well. The chicken fried steak was huge! Glad we decided to share, we got both types of gravy to try, definitely liked the more traditional one, but that was preference. The roasted veggies were great definitely a huge side and plenty enough to share with two people if not more, we could not finish it for sure. I had to get another side order of fries because they were so good. We weren't in a rush again so we hung out and got dessert and that was delicious, it was not a typical cheesecake that we were expecting. We were pleasantly surprised it was delicious, we ate it all. Our server for dinner was Shaeleigh? she was so sweet and attentive. She was very friendly and accommodated us with all of our requests. She made sure we were well hydrated as well. She made the dinner even more memorable it was great to have such friendly service and conversations. We would definitely recommend eating here if you are staying at the resort or if you are in town, make the drive to the resort to check out the area and grab a bite! read more

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this amazing , nice and fancy place; however, the experience we had I was disappointed as I felt the service in particular made us feel not welcome from the start of the hostesses to the end with our servers and felt like there was some sort of ageism as we are a younger couple. It took about 20minutes to get a waiter and still wasn't sure he was a waiter as he didn't introduce himself and how the place works. He didn't come to us, unless I made eye contact. I understand being it's a holiday weekend, so the wait in service could be on how busy and possibly seems like it was understaff. Nonetheless, with amazing ambiance, I was disappointed with the service that the food and experience was not enjoyable. read more

I stayed at the resort where La Cascade Table and Bar is located. Both nights I had dinner there, the first a couple appetizers, Fried Green Tomatoes with Shrimp and Deviled Eggs. I loved them both, the top shelf margaritas were excellent as well. The second night I ate in the bar, ordered a martini that would rival any great steakhouse one. I got the Texas Burger and fries, both super yummy! Great char on the burger, yet still decadent and juicy..the fries were sheer heaven. Service both nights was wonderful, all the staff very friendly and accommodating. It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to going back in the fall once it cools off since the resort offers huge fire pits at night. I highly recommend this place! read more

The Tapatio Hill Country breakfast plate was delicious! Ordered my eggs over easy and they came out perfect! Their applewood bacon is the BEST!!!! I got a side order of avocado to spread on my toast. The avocado was fresh and tasteful. The wheat toast was fluffy and toasted perfectly. I would have given this a 5 star rating but the coffee served to me was lukewarm. La Cascada Table and Bar opened in fall 2019, following a major fire that destroyed the previous clubhouse in November 2017. This place is well off the beaten path and is a long windy drive, so beware. Drive slowly and watch out for wildlife. Ambiance is rustic, western, lodge style and relaxed. Noise level is very high due to complete lack of acoustic absorption. Every surface here is hard as wood, literally. We made reservations for our party of six on a Saturday night through OpenTable and were seated in a couple of minutes. The place was packed inside. Nobody was sitting outside. The menu is focused but offers a nice array of offerings. The focus is on Southern food and (dare I say it...gulp) "comfort food". (BTW, who came UP with THAT stupid term?). Each of us tried something different: burger, fish, steak, ribs. Portions were very generous, making the sides sinfully unnecessary. The mashed potatoes were glistening with butter. The mac 'n' cheese was infused with bits of smoked brisket. Wine list was equally focused, but just as nice as the menu. The level-2 sommelier guided us to three very interesting bottles of red, each in the $65 to $75 range, averaging 4 stars on Vivino. We enjoyed all three. Service was super friendly but glacially slow. we didn't care because we were loud and having fun. This is probably not a place to go for a quiet romantic dinner for two. Think fun and loud. The food was mediocre. I had the surf and turf, the shrimp had zero seasoning or flavor and were very under cooked. My filet was was just ok, nothing that you couldn't have cooked at home for 1/4 of the price. My husband had the Mac and cheese with sausage and brisket, and it was quite literally a box of Kraft Macaroni and cheese and brisket from the frozen section at the grocery store. The service was pretty slow for the restaurant only being 1/3 full. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 star is because the restaurant was really nice and it had a nice ambiance. read more

The restaurant aesthetic makes you think that you will have a refined dining experience, or at the least - decent service. Unfortunately the staff has not been trained properly. From the bored hostess at the front who had difficulty making conversation or cracking a smile, to the server who never introduced himself, had limited information about the menu, and wasn't sure he could get me a taste of a particular wine by the glass, to the manager who alerted me that he knew my filet had been served rare when I requested medium, yet did not offer any compensation. The food presentation was dreadful! The macaroni and cheese was watered down Kraft from a box, and my 8oz filet was on a small white plate with a split baked potato next to it. It seemed odd and unappetizing compared to the beautiful surroundings. This restaurant needs to "reset" and cater to their diners who expect a better experience. I would not make an effort to drive out to the restaurant based on this experience and I would probably consider taking my own food if I were staying at the resort. read more

We moved to Texas a year ago for a new job. We purchased a home in the area and have eaten here twice. On August 23rd we had friends in town and took them here for dinner.
