We really enjoyed our breakfast here. They didn't have any wait staff so it was counter service. Everyone was so pleasant and friendly. The food was great and the coffee was so good. It has been so hard to find coffee as good as the café in Australia but this was good. The restaurant was also so cute. I love when an old building is restored and they leave pictures and notes about it. I definitely want to be back

True miss for me. Service was incredibly lacking and pastries completely tasteless. Long story short, this was a traditional Boerne stop. Boerne visit, Denger pastry. But, this was the last time. Denger is a very quaint and charming place. Maybe, less quiant this time around. We ordered a small pie and a cookie with frosting. We also order two coffees. The coffee was terribly bitter. I couldn't finish mine. Both desserts were flavorless and bland. They also were not cheap. But, the straw that broke the camel's back, was the way we were treated. Previously, one could purchase dessert, and coffee, then sit down somewhere. It was quirky because they also had staff serving at the tables. This time around, when we sat down, we were told the system had changed. Next time, stop at the hostess area. I understand change, I didn't get the attitude, because it was a scolding. So recap, desserts, and coffee, terrible, and service: rude and patronizing. Do not recommend.

The space is beautiful, and everyone was so welcoming. The owner, Raymond, even came by to introduce himself and even offered something special for the children. Raymond is very personable. He personally recommended a few items from their menu. The EGGS CIBOLO did not disappoint! The egg whites frittata with goat cheese, spinach, tomatoes, and avocado was absolutely delicious, as was the deep dish spinach quiche. The kids' pancakes were a hit too. Highly recommend!

First time here on cool brisk Saturday morning in February 2026. Walked in and serviced a table quick I was expecting to wait a bit. Had the Dienger omelette with potato chips. Enjoyed the meal! The store in the rear of the restaurant was cool.

Was in Boerne for the day and we decided to swing by for lunch upon a recommendation. It's a really cute place with a coffee counter, cafe, boutique, and a snowcone stand. Our server was clearly new and very young, but he was very polite and doing his best! Honestly, the other customers really ruined the good vibes here!! Some of the strangest interactions all around us.... Other guests complaining about the service and being rude to the servers. One man was very inappropriate with one of the young ladies working behind the counter. Come on people, do better. You're eating lunch in a weekday in a smaller town that's probably serviced by young people. Be decent. The food was alright, but not memorable. Croissants at Costco are better.

Whew the wait was long! Luckily they have a million things to look at while you wait. This place is a bistro and boutique. When we finally got seated, 3 of us decided to not split a bottle for mimosa's and opted to have our very own bottles and we had a time!!! The mimosa's were flowing from my own bottle so I soaked it up with the egg white frittata and French toast with vanilla custard. I didn't think the egg white frittata was going to fill me up but it actually did. It was a light full not a heavy full. I got heavy full when I ate the French toast. Our waiter did his best to be attentive and keep up with our group of 5. I think with the crowded bistro it was hard for him to be consistent with our table. I thought the style of The Dienger was appropriate for Boerne and the trading co.

A great location in a lovely historical building. Servers and staff tentative and helpful. I had the "huevos rancheros" it was the "dish with the most flavor" . I found it flavorless. The black beans were season free as well as the eggs. The only thing with flavor was the roasted veg and I wasn't sure why they were calling it huevos rancheros, two eggs over easy and a side of breakfast potatoes and flavorless bean paste would have been more on point. The cappuccino tasted bitter and burnt, I added a load of sugar to make it palpable. If you are looking for a lovely setting this place is fantastic...try the croissant breakfast sandwich. It got good reviews.

Ron the manager came over to the table to chat and see how everything was. To me, this is the epitome of great management. Super! My first impression is always biscuits and sausage gravy. These guys know how to do it: perfect fluffy biscuits smothered with a savory sausage gravy. Absolutely delicious. I love renovated buildings. No exceptions here, beautifully restored buildings! Nice gift store. Definitely a must do destination in Boerne!

Forgot to take a picture before we ate! French toast, omelette, biscuit and gravy.

The French toast was amazing! We enjoyed the omelette, biscuit with gravy and tres leches latte wasn't too sweet. Met the owner, Raymond, who was kind. We will definitely plan to come back here again!

Are there gluten free options available?

They have some breakfast items that are full item free and they tend to modify orders. Eggs and bacon with coffee is probably the limit to gluten items. I haven't noticed any gluten free bakery items

Is this a good place to study at?

Yes, just take headphones just in case there is a big lunch or dinner rush

Almost a month and a half beforehand, I made reservations online, which was quick and easy. For the occasion, they offered a special menu to help streamline ordering. The entrees were $28 and included either a mimosa or specialty drink. My mom and aunt both ordered the Southern Hospitality, which came with eggs, shredded hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, toast, and berry compote. My aunt paired hers with a mimosa while my mom chose a drip coffee. My little cousin had the mini stack pancakes topped with fresh berries and whipped cream. I was looking for a lower-carb option, so although I considered the omelette, most of the included ingredients were not to my liking. Instead, I ordered 2 eggs with added tomato and a side of hollandaise sauce. For my drink, I chose the Sunnycito coffee. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! The presentation of each dish was beautifully curated. I really enjoyed my food overall, though I was not particularly fond of the hollandaise sauce. The flavor was not very enticing to me, and the consistency was a bit too thick. However, the Sunnycito coffee was absolutely superb! I almost ordered another one to-go. It was a beautifully blended, smooth, rich concoction inspired by a café con leche, or "cafecito", a Cuban-style coffee. When I looked over their regular menu beforehand, the drinks were labeled as either hot or iced, and I had only seen the Sunnycito listed hot, which is how it is traditionally prepared. Our wonderful waitress kindly asked if I would prefer it iced, and since I was in the mood for something cold, I happily agreed. I highly recommend this drink! They also add a hint of orange zest, which was such a unique touch and something I had never encountered before in a coffee. Despite how busy the restaurant was, everything seemed to run very smoothly. The staff remained attentive to everyone's needs, and our water glasses were never empty. I regret forgetting our waitress's name, but she was personable, sweet, and attentive throughout the entire experience. Altogether, it made for a very special and memorable Mother's Day celebration. I can't wait to return!

One oddity is there is a ramp leading to a door, but apparently that is not the entrance, at least according to the sign on the door. The entrance has stairs you need to ascend. So much for wheelchair and mobility issue friendly. We were seated quickly. Overall impressions are its clean, and normal restaurant chatter. There is seating inside, as well as outside, and apparently there is an upstairs seating area as well. Seating inside is close together, so this is not the place for conversation that you don't want others to hear. Waited quite a while without any acknowledgment of any kind, no drink order taken, nothing. After our waitress arrived, our drink orders were taken. At this point, since we still haven't received our drinks, I'm going to break from normal and mention the terrible service. I would normally wait until the end but this deserves mentioning. A different waitress approached and asked about our drinks. After another wait, our drinks arrived. Correction, the 2 coffees arrived. Not the Diet Pepsi that was ordered. On the plus side, my wife and daughter rated the coffees a 4.5 and 4, respectively. They did mention they were slightly less happy with the sizes. We finally placed our food order. Upon arrival, the food, fortunately, was excellent. My wife and daughter both rated the crepes 5 out of 5. I would rate the omelette 4.5-4.75. We are hoping the service was a fluke, because we had read good things about Sunny's, and their overall ratings are high. I can say this was one of the worst services I've experienced in quite some time, including fast food establishments. We will try again, and hopefully the service is better. So take from this what you will: Based on food and cost, I would rate Sunny's a 4.25. Factor in the service and I would rate it a 2.5, and wouldn't return. Hopefully our next experience is better.

The menu is on the wall and ordering at the counter. There are yummy looking pies in the case. We were happy to see liver and onions with 3 sides. It also came with an incredibly tasty muffin, which we were told was a type of bran muffin. The liver was very thinly sliced and nicely grilled. Sides were generous. We got drinks and my unsweet tea was nicely brewed, which in Texas is expected. Counter staff was friendly and service was quick. The environs are in serious need of an upgrade, which I doubt will happen to keep the prices low. As it is our shared meal and two drinks was about $25. We were very pleased with our meal, the restrooms were clean and easy access, and overall other than extremely dated decor this eatery is a Boerne classic!

Portions are good and getting the large portion may mean you can share with partner. Chicken fried steak is good, mashed potatoes are the staple of my choice. The other day my husband and I were there and as usual, it was busy. The staff is super friendly! The food comes out in the expected amount of time to make you feel like it was made just for you, but not from scratch, lol. I was disappointed in the mac n'cheese. It was extremely bland. And the corn was definitely from a can, not a bit of salt or butter. We shared a chopped sirloin and it was good. On other visits I can say I have enjoyed the chicken tender salad and fried catfish but really the chicken fried steak or chicken are my GO TO choices. I will say, if the owner is reading this...I know you are super busy, but your restaurant needs a good cleaning and refresh. It's kinda worn out. The chairs aren't comfortable. The booths need to be scrubbed, even the walls adjoining to the booths are dirty. Maybe your bussers clean the table tops great after each use, but the surrounding area is kinda gross. I am not saying I won't be back, or even that people shouldn't give it a try, just setting expectations and hoping that the owners make some time to get back to quality on every plate and at every table.
