This is a bakery that I have been in frequenting for the last 20 years as a former resident of Boerne. It has never disappointed and it never fails to surprise me with new pastries and delicious coffees. I have my first pistachio almond milk, coffee here and it has always been my favorite ever since. they have amazing homemade biscuits and of course their pigs in a blanket are world famous. You truly cannot go wrong at this place. There are plenty of options for everyone my son loves everything they have - especially the donuts and of course, the pigs in a blanket! We stopped at Bear Moon Bakery for some fuel before our Enchanted Rock hike. We ordered the piggies, a cinnamon roll, and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. The pastries were all delicious! The bread on the piggies and cinnamon roll was light and fluffy and tasted fresh. The broccoli cheddar soup was self-serve, and my only complaint is that it wasn't quite hot enough. We asked them to heat up our cup and they were happy to oblige and it was very good after that. For coffee, we ordered an iced honey lavender latte which had great flavor but was a little on the sweet side. We also ordered a hot salted caramel latte which was perfect! I like how it came out very hot and the sweetness level was just right. This bakery is super cute with great quality food and coffee. The price was very reasonable compared to other places similar to this. I can tell it's a staple for the locals, and we really enjoyed our meal. We'll be back if we are in the area. read more

This is a cute little coffee shop with all decorated baked goods. I ordered a hazelnut latte which was fantastic! We also shared a mock hostess cupcake which was very moist and the cream was smooth and sweet. I also ordered an apple ginger scone which was a little overbaked but the inside was soft and flavorful. After hearing such great things about this bakery from locals, my friends and I made it a point to visit during this trip to Boerne. The past three times I visited, they were closed. We ordered the following: - Bottled Water (get it yourself after purchasing out of the cooler) - Americano: Average americano served in paper cups. Tasted like something I could get at my local grocery store. - Lemon Bar: Same as raspberry bar... just average One thing I really didn't like here was the service and level of casualness. As my friends and I were dining in, I really expected that cups, plates and silverware wouldn't be a big ask. When none of the above items were provided (for Prosecco and pastries), I asked for a champagne flute/ glass, a plate and forks. The woman behind the counter acted as though I was asking her for the world and asked if it was really needed and my answer was clearly yes. I am not going to drink Prosecco out of a bottle at a restaurant... that's ridiculous. After clarifying that to the woman, I was provided a paper plate and large soda cup. Was finally in town while they were open, score! There is some street parking as well as a tiny lot in the back with a 2 hour minimum. The smells coming from the kitchen while walking past were phenomenal. My son and I had lunch there and I appreciated the toddler sized chairs and low tables they had in one area. We split a turkey sandwich, yum! And some kettle chips. The woman in the back saw us dining in and was so kind to bring my little one some watermelon, which he devoured. The pasty cabinet displayed a mouthwatering array of all kinds of yummy goodies. Cakes, pies, muffins, cookies, Danish..We thoroughly enjoyed each item we purchased. One plum Danish, one slice of apple pie, and one orange cranberry muffin. All of them were great but I have not stopped thinking about that cranberry orange muffin since I finished it. After moving to FOR 1-1/2 years ago, we tried out BMC for the 1st time Thursday 3/27/25, mid-morning. The shop is cute & clean. There was a line of about 4 other customers ahead of my husband & the average price per item he bought was about $4.25. He purchased 4 items (apple fritter, cinnamon roll, peach turnover & cherry fruit flip) to bring home. Everything was DELICIOUS. The outstanding thing about the cinnamon roll was the pillowy soft dough. I never had a dough like it before & made me wonder if they make it using the tangzhong method I have read about. Likewise the apple fritter dough was soft with a crispier exterior & had discernible chunks of apple. The peach turnover had the flakiest puff pastry I have ever eaten. But we agreed that altho everything was exceptional, the cherry "flip" (like a little hand pie) was our favorite. The pie dough (?) was crisp, the cherries tart & the bit of filling that leaked out onto the crust kind of caramelized & tasted amazing. Only con about the cuteness of this cafe is the fact that the majority of chairs are higher than the small tables & desks around the place- so if you have a bad back, make sure to snag a spot at the high bar on the side wall or take your food to go. Great coffee and food. Unfortunately the service is 1/4 of the speed of a French restaurant, and that's being generous. I stood in line for 30 minutes to get a coffee and could have read a novel by the time I got to the register. The staff seems like they are 1/2 asleep and move with very little motivation to serve. It shocks me that they stay in business..... but on the positive the coffee is great and the food is great. So that's probably why. With increased competition that may not work well. read more

No complaints about the food (piggies were good) but we were looking for something with a little more substance for breakfast. Upon getting bakery foods and sitting down, the ppl behind us asked if there was something other than what was shown to which they responded "oh, here you go!" - so they had a food menu along, we just were not offered. Everything I have ordered here is delicious. There are delicious gluten free pastries for those that need them, but delicious for those of us who don't (coffee cake especially). Currently the seasonal offerings of a "fall fog" is a delicious take on a London Fog. Biscuits and gravy may be the best bang for the buck.
