I think they are planning their next visit with us around the days & hours The Hen's Nest is open lol. The food is just absolutely delicious and the restaurant employees are super friendly and so sweet. The bathroom is cute and extremely clean, which is very important to me. For as many times as my husband and I have been there we have not even once had a complaint! Everything has always been spot on. I highly recommend everyone trying them out, you will not be disappointed, I guarantee!

I asked for a soft scramble and that's what I got. The bacon was crispy and the biscuits were soft. Our server was extremely friendly and readily answered our questions and as her time permitted, chatted with us briefly. When we walked in, we were asked if we had a reservation (we didn't), but were sat immediately. The establishment is no frills with a very down home vibe that serves delicious food. I feel if you go often enough, they get to know you and will greet you by name and remember your order. Is it perfect? Based on others reviews (some just seemed like whining), probably not. Was my experience perfect? Very much so, from service, to food, to ambiance, I loved it. Would I return? Absolutely. *no pics because I was starving and forgot to snap some shots* This is small town Texas, you know, that thing that is disappearing very fast because everybody is moving here? Expect it to be a bit slow, don't look for instant gratification. Slow down, enjoy your food, and look around a bit.

This is our favorite brunch in Fred…read more Sam has taken care of us many times and she's wonderful! The whole staff here is top notch. They updated their porch to have more coverage which will be great once summer really hits. Inside is great too. We've sat in all the areas. We went all out for our brunch date (mom & dad time out). Cold brew with vanilla, caramel iced latte... yummmm! We started with zucchini fries and they were hot, crunchy and delicious. I had the brunch burger (it was huge!) with sweet potato fries. I love their sweet potato fries. Husband tried the special- biscuit love - says it's good for anyone who loves gravy and brunch dessert was the banana French toast - we got the banana on the side and a side of berries. Yum yum yum. Soft and pillowy. Thank you Sam! See you soon :)

She really made the experience. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, substituting bacon for ham, with a biscuit and gravy on the side. The Eggs Benedict was good. I loved the unexpected touch of Swiss cheese, which added a nice twist to a classic dish. The hollandaise was a little on the sour side, but the bacon was cooked perfectly. The biscuit and gravy was the real star of my meal, so good that I almost wish I had ordered it as my main! Definitely getting that next time. My husband went for The Big Ass Sandwich and loved it. Fair warning- it lives up to its name. It's big, it's messy, and it's absolutely worth it. He said the same thing I was thinking: we need to come back. We'll definitely be returning on our next trip to Fredericksburg. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast spot with good food and even better service!

This was a very yummy dinner in downtown Fredericksburg! We visited after our wine tour and were…read moreexcited to try some German food. They were pretty booked up but as it was cold outside they let us switch our reservation from patio to bar seating. We really enjoyed our meal. The waiters were very attentive and happy to talk through the menu with us. Ultimately we decided on a pretzel as our appetizer, with lamb chops as our entree to share and a side of kasespatzle. The pretzel was warm and a nice size and we thoroughly enjoyed the beer cheese. We finished the cheese halfway through the pretzel and the waiters were kind enough to bring us another one. Next for the kasespatzle - which from my understanding is the German version of mac and cheese. It was very tasty and hearty! More filling than I expected. The lamb chops were the crown jewel of the night - rich and succulent and paired so well with the asparagus. The chef was kind enough to make another lamb chop for us as she saw how the meat shrunk while cooking it. The meal was so tasty and a good size for sharing! We were very full by the end. I'm so glad we tried this place! It would be perfect for date night, a meeting with coworkers or family dinner. I like that they have an intimate inside area as well as the outdoor patio. Check this place out!

I found Otto's to be a bit disappointing. Maybe it's just that German isn't the type of cuisine…read morethat should be elevated... It's great the way it is, and trying to make it fancy doesn't make it better. But I've always thought that if a restaurant has only a few options on its menu, they had better all be great, and I didn't find that to be the case at Otto's. One of us had the schnitzel au gratin, which seemed more to be like a chicken Parmesan. I had the duck schnitzel. I would say they were just both OK. The fried potatoes that came with the au gratin schnitzel were left largely untouched on my companion's plate. There wasn't much flavor to my red cabbage, and my spaetzel seemed to be more like a modern day risotto. And this at a restaurant that makes you leave your credit card for a reservation and threatens to charge if you cancel less than 24 hours before. For that, it had better knock my socks off. But my socks are still on, and they won't be walking back to Otto's. Extra star for the great location.
