Fabulous gem - an authentic mexican cafe- loved the salsa, sweet service and clean little dining area. Located adjacent to gas station. This is just the kind of place you want to stay in this mess. No frozen chain food - everything is made fresh with a impressive selection of mexican plates and burgers - we will be back!

Always fresh ingredients, hot food and great service! Breakfast tacos are great as well. They're very large.

One of the best places to get breakfast tacos I've had. Recommend the Alex taco and J3 taco!

This place was absolutely delicious. Just googled a lunch spot on my way out of Fredericksburg and…read morethis came up. Saw a lot of bragging about the burger and decided to challenge that lol we parked and were walking up to the door and were immediately greeted. Even opened the door for us. We were asked if it was our first time and when we said yes we got the run down on the specials and how the drinks work. Everyone was super nice and attentive. Our waiter was on point. We felt so welcome. I got a cheeseburger double, my son got a hamburger and his mom got a ribeye sandwich they had on special. We all loved every bite. And the basket of hand cut fries topped it off. This food was delicious. So worth the trip. It stayed busy while we were there. And I see why. The atmosphere was very welcoming because the staff was. Seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves just being here. This place is pretty out the way but if I'm ever near Fredericksburg again I'll 100% return.

They aren't fast and as folks trickled in we watched some folks get way too upset at the wait, but good food takes some time. The burger is very good. I had the Cover Burger (featured on the cover of TX Monthly) and added a patty, which they had no issue with, and they even suggested I try their burger challenge if I was REALLY hungry. I may, or may not, have agreed to give it a try some time. Only been once but we swore it was one worth going back to! Oh, sweet potato waffle fries...fan-freaking-tastic.

We also got some chili cheese fries. The chili is good , but for some reason it just didn't go with these thinner cut fries. Would get either the chili or the fries again ... just not the chili on the fries. Friendly counter service and a laid back vibe. Nice patio area with room to spread out.

Normally I get the Diablo burger- Ghost Pepper Cheese, Cayenne Pepper, Chipotle Sauce, Lettuce, Tomatoes, & Fresh Onions It is the BOMB! Seriously, flavor town. I love spice, this gets your nose a little runny and your eyes a bit watery. Perfect for that first date, ladies ;) The Dino burger is perfect when I just want a classic. Seasoned fries are the way to go. Dip them in mayo if you know what's up. Yes, you need napkins. Yes, you need to wash your hands aggressively, especially if you have nails, after chowing down. Yes, you will be full after this dynamite combo. Service is great, always friendly. They have a small bar inside and plenty of tables indoors and out. My only qualm is that they ever close... They have live music and lovely big trees to sit underneath.

Then, when he got sick and had to change it to Monday, we idiots did not look to see if it was open that day. We were driving out to Pipe's Creek to check on my trailer, so he looked online for restaurants in the area that were open and found Jo Mama's. After a quick look at the menu, we decided it was worth a try. They had several specialty burgers that all sounded good, so we stopped in. The dining room is tiny, but you do have the option of eating in Chubby's bar next door. We stayed in the dining room. The people working at the restaurant were all super nice and helpful. I ordered a bacon and blue cheese burger with a side of sweet potato fries and an extra cup of their homemade blue cheese dressing for dipping. My son ordered the Frito pie burger with tater tots. We also both ordered sweet tea, which was actually bottles of Gold Peak. My son did surprisingly well with his burger. It was super loaded with chili and thus super messy. After he had scarfed the burger down, he had a full serving of Frito pie on his plate. He said the chili was awesome. The tots however were just "okay". My burger was amazing. The patty and bread were the perfect match. The bacon was thick and crispy. Everything came together to make it really delicious. But, if I'm honest, the highlight of my meal was the sweet potato fries. They were nice and crispy. But, what put them over the top was a generous sprinkle of sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla powder. That combination was positively addicting. I blindly ate all of them, which is very unusual for me. I normally eat about 6 or 8 fries and give the rest away. I visit my trailer to check on it after major storms and when I haven't camped as much. Plus I go to Pipe Creek to hook it up for trips and bring it back for storage. I'm pretty sure there will be a hamburger in my belly every time I go there in the future. I want to work through the menu and try the others. Why? Just because they are there, and after eating one of them, I know the rest are going to be awesome, too.

We liked the vibe and they graciously allowed our high energy Belgian Malinois to join us inside. They even gave him water and some Jerky! The fries were good too which is key.
