Looking for a bite to eat on Christmas Eve after a round of golf at The Buckhorn, I came across this local gem still open for us to visit. As you walk into Brene's you get a warm inviting vibe to the place. The staff all welcomed us in and sat us down right away. Our waitress ran through the menu and so I order the 8-piece wing (4 buffalo / 4 lemon pepper) and my buddy orders the smash burger with onion rings. As we wait for our order, the manager comes by to talk with us and lets us know she has some fresh baked goodies for sale and long story short I end up leaving with a buttermilk pie. It was delicious. But I digress, when thing wings come out, the wings and drummies were both a good size with plenty of meat on the bone. They were fried nicely and not overly drowned in sauce. The buffalo sauce was nice and tangy, and the lemon pepper was on point. My buddy gave a thumbs up to the smash burger and onion rings. Overall, I'm glad we were able to stop in for some small-town hospitality right before Christmas. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

We love the atmosphere here. Great music and warm atmosphere! The food is always delicious, fries are the best in the San Antonio area! Chicken sandwich with brioche bun is fantastic!! And the staff is always warm and friendly. This is our Comfort food in Comfort!!!

Great motto for the restaurant!

The enormous and devastating 4th of July flood in the hill country changed a lot of how people went to restaurants as part of their schedule. Immediately after the flood, lots of people came to the hill country to help the recovery. By early August, the restaurant business in the Comfort area crashed. Most of them didn't have any customers which led to shortened hours and temporary layoffs. Brene's Kitchen stayed open through the rough period. They are still trying to get people to eat at their restaurant. My own family goes there to help support this hardworking bunch of people. It is a family owned business and they are the nicest group of people. Their daughters work as servers and both parents work wherever they're needed. As for the food, yes, it's delicious. We went there on a rainy Sunday for brunch and they had almost everything you wanted for breakfast. They had scrambled and fried eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, hot oatmeal. They also have cold cereal with milk the topper for me was their fresh fruit. It was fresh! If that doesn't get you, you can order from their menu! Overall, their food is not Houston or San Antonio brunch quality. For Comfort, TX, it's excellent. We go there because we want to support local businesses and also because they serve good food with a smile. If you are thinking about visiting the hill country, visit the Comfort area and eat at Brene's! Their family will be happy to see you! Enjoy!

The best thing we had was the BANANA SPLIT . The owners were so nice and seem like great transplants to this community. We felt the support for first responders there for sure. It was a nice mom and pop place to support on the way back from The Coming King prayer gardens. It fairly new but I can't wait to see how they grow and flourish.

The food is amazing, the atmosphere is very comfortable and the desserts are a MUST!! This was my first visit but won't be my last. My husband ordered the Rhett's Smash Burger and he said it was the best burger he has eaten in a long time. I ordered my normal, chicken fingers, and they were tender, juicy and delicious!! We started with an order of cheese sticks....highly recommend!! We also ate the Banana Split for dessert and OMG I'm so happy. So big we couldn't finish it!! Definitely recommend you eat here!! And the service was top notch!! An overall excellent experience!! We'll be back!!

Great Salmon, servers are nice, food is served fresh and hot, might take a min. No more buffet on Sunday, bummer.

We parked in a nearby lot and were able to walk up and make our purchase. We brought our pizza back to one of the nearby tables. It was near closing time and pretty dark. We were quite hungry and dug in quickly. We got the Basta pizza and it was fantastic! The bison was such a unique topping and paired so well with the flavors - it was one of our first times trying nduja and we loved it. The honey made for such a pleasant aftertaste as well. We scarfed it down quickly - it was all so delicious! Definitely check this place out on your next visit to Fredericksburg!

The inside seems to be a bit of a mess with many random boxes lying around. The menu was looking great especially the drink section, however we were told that because of a rush the previous day a few food items were not available. We got the "hey bob!" Pizza which was alright we also got a choose your own pizza with just pepperoni and sausage which our group preferred. The service was good, our server was able to answer all of our questions and took our three person group order without writing it down and everything came out correct.( very impressive)Overall the experience was okay I would just change my order for next time I visit.

For the entire time we sat there, a man's unintelligible voice could be heard on the speakers inside the building, apparently giving some sort of speech. We finally asked about it and were told that it was the owner, who "liked to say things" every so often, and that he was probably almost done. Thankfully by the time we were shown inside he had concluded his comments, because there was NO WAY to ignore him and just enjoy your meal if you were in there. We ordered a standard Margherita and a "build your own". Both were delicious. Crust was the ideal thickness. Another 45 seconds in the brick oven and they would have been cooked perfectly. Every staff member we interacted with was extremely polite, respectful, friendly, and professional--noticeably more than at almost every other restaurant. It's the Star Wars themed decor that was a large part of the reason to try Dark Side, and the collection truly is impressive. This is not something anyone would expect to find out in the country on a rural highway. We'll likely return again, hopefully when the breeze is from a different direction and without having to listen to a loud speech. If you're into really cool movie memorabilia, check 'em out.

We could not help but notice the gorgeous bar to the right as soon as we walked in as well as the beautiful woodwork. We were greeted immediately, and upon sitting, our drink order was taken. There is a full service bar, including beer on draft! My husband ordered the Lasagna Classico and I the Pomodoro with grilled chicken and angel hair pasta. Hot rolls and REAL butter were brought to the table almost as soon as we sat down followed by both entrees after about a fifteen minute wait. The entrees were steaming hot and fresh and after our first taste, declared delicious. The waitstaff was attentive and efficient. We ended the meal by sharing a piece of tiramisu, which was excellent as well. There is free parking in a four story city garage literally diagonal across from the restaurant which made the location perfect.

Our server was far less than charming and worse, was incompetent. I truly wondered if she were somehow impaired. She didn't respond when we ordered and seemed put-out when we asked if she understood. Turned out the wine my wife ordered was no longer available (so why was it still on your menu?). My wife made an alternate order, but instead of getting a glass of what she ordered, the village idiot came back with a bottle totally unrelated to what my ordered and offered that. My wife politely refused, I got my beer and my wife got nothing. OK, maybe they needed to open a bottle and it would be out soon. But no. The so called server didn't reappear until our food was ready. At that point, my wife asked about her wine again. The waitress, Andrea, then said, "I thought you said no to wine". Well, my wife did finally get her wine after the fight. Now for the food. In the past, it has always been excellent. But today's offering was sub-standard. We both ordered the chicken Parmesan from the lunch menu. The menu said the chicken was hand breaded. It was not and the marinara was basically tomato sauce with with bits of tomato in it. By far the worst food we've ever been served there. Il Posto, today you failed miserably. And I would remind you that you have two restaurants on either side of you with excellent chefs. You may want to keep that in mind before serving us Stouffers to dine on.
