Located right on Main St in historic downtown Boerne. They have old school pinballs and video games, which are fun for all ages. Lots of inside and outside seating. We enjoyed our smash burgers and they were cooked perfectly. Some of the fries were good, but a lot of the fries were over cooked. The skinny onion rings are delicious. The sides are huge, so keep that in mind if you go with people with smaller appetites. You order outside and they call your name when it's ready. You have to go back outside and get your food. Not too bad on a nice day, but I can see where that would be awkward on an inclement weather day. They brew their own beer, which is tasty. But if you want more you also have to go outside. I would've liked the inside bar seat window be a pass through...a place where you can order more drinks or pick up your food. At first we enjoyed the burgers, fries and onion rings. After devaluing time the burgers had a peculiar taste like the vegetables were sour or old. We both commented and decided that their food is not consistent. That's enough for us not to take a chance on getting food poisoning which is primarily from lettuce and onions. We tried Hambys for the first time tonight. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately I didn't. I didn't like the system they have in place. Order at a window outside, go in and find a seat. Once your name is called, go back outside to retrieve your order. The dining area was very chaotic on a Thursday evening. They have about 10 old school pinball machines and a couple of old video games (YAY!!). Unfortunately, the pinball machines were loud and created a lot of ambient noise. My burger is just OK The patties weee seasoned well, but the amount of mayo they put on was insane. The veggies were fresh. They had a good beer selection - I realized then that they are associated with Cibolo Creek Brewimg, so that makes sense. I think if someone suggested going, I would, but not sure if ever suggest it. read more

The rings are tiny strings barely salted and the napkins are to small considering your eating with your hands. And the price is on the spendy side. Won't eat there ever again. The burgers were really good. I usually have to add mustard or ketchup to a burger however this didn't need it. The fries and float were also good. The ambience was nice great night to sit outside and have dinner. The service was good. The only thing we didn't like was the wait. After we ordered it took about 40 minutes to get our food. Friday nights I'm sure are very busy, this could cause some serious frustration though. We had 2 burgers, 2 fries and a Corn Dog. We love Hamby's! Such great smash burgers (the best way to have a burger IMO). I also love that they use local ingredients which always seem very fresh and that they offer Maine Root soda. It's the only soda I will buy if I ever buy it at the store. Love the old school vibe too. I will say that we've ordered Hamby's quite a bit over the past year but only rated at the restaurant twice because it's a bit loud for my liking and the fries are soggy and not salty enough. I typically take it to go and crisp the fries up under the broiler. Then it's perfection. I think the problem lies in the fact that they tie the bag of fries up which allows the steam to make them soggy very quickly. They need to be served in a basket to prevent this issue. read more

I've been looking for a Fish & Chip comparable to back in California at Captain Flints in Fort Bragg. So I ordered the Fish & Chips - and I am not sorry! Hambys is an extension of cibolo creek brewing and is an amazing addition to the Boerne main street scene. Hambys is more casual/counter service but they have their own beers there as well.
