Located right on Main St in historic downtown Boerne. They have old school pinballs and video games, which are fun for all ages. Lots of inside and outside seating. We enjoyed our smash burgers and they were cooked perfectly. Some of the fries were good, but a lot of the fries were over cooked. The skinny onion rings are delicious. The sides are huge, so keep that in mind if you go with people with smaller appetites. You order outside and they call your name when it's ready. You have to go back outside and get your food. Not too bad on a nice day, but I can see where that would be awkward on an inclement weather day. They brew their own beer, which is tasty. But if you want more you also have to go outside. I would've liked the inside bar seat window be a pass through...a place where you can order more drinks or pick up your food. First timers! The young lady who greeted us and took our order was outstanding. We ordered 2 2-Patty burgers (1/4 pounders), one fry, two drinks, came up to $30. We added a $4 tip. A reasonable wait for the food. The burgers were actually wet from the shredded lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. The meat was crispy on the edges, like a good smash burger should be. Towards the center it was just a mush mess. Cheese comes on all burgers. A single patty is what a kiddie burger would be. Then the fries, a generous portion of super thin, soggy, limp and greasy. Ate a few and then tossed them. The drinks were not Coke or Pepsi. A better quality but can't remember the brand but they were good! Crushed ice and free refills. Overall, high hopes upon arrival and a disappointing meal. This is nothing like In & Out and we don't eat burgers too often, aside from making them at home for this reason. We tried Hambys for the first time tonight. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately I didn't. I didn't like the system they have in place. Order at a window outside, go in and find a seat. Once your name is called, go back outside to retrieve your order. The dining area was very chaotic on a Thursday evening. They have about 10 old school pinball machines and a couple of old video games (YAY!!). Unfortunately, the pinball machines were loud and created a lot of ambient noise. My burger is just OK The patties weee seasoned well, but the amount of mayo they put on was insane. The veggies were fresh. They had a good beer selection - I realized then that they are associated with Cibolo Creek Brewimg, so that makes sense. We love Hamby's! Such great smash burgers (the best way to have a burger IMO). I also love that they use local ingredients which always seem very fresh and that they offer Maine Root soda. It's the only soda I will buy if I ever buy it at the store. Love the old school vibe too. I will say that we've ordered Hamby's quite a bit over the past year but only rated at the restaurant twice because it's a bit loud for my liking and the fries are soggy and not salty enough. I typically take it to go and crisp the fries up under the broiler. Then it's perfection. I think the problem lies in the fact that they tie the bag of fries up which allows the steam to make them soggy very quickly. They need to be served in a basket to prevent this issue. read more

I've been looking for a Fish & Chip comparable to back in California at Captain Flints in Fort Bragg. So I ordered the Fish & Chips - and I am not sorry! They serve a different kind of soda then I've ever tried - all of them use pure Sugar Cane- I got the Root Beer and I honestly have never had a better Root Beer. The entire meal was easily a 9/10. They have burgers, single , double or triple patty ! Grilled chicken burger even a veggie burger. Hand dipped corn dogs. Hand dipped onion rings. Plus- milkshake and a cool variety of Beer on tap! Attached is a small arcade for the kids or the adults that want to play for a bit! We loved the outside dining- which is uncommon but the day was cool with a nice breeze so I recommend if you can handle the Texas heat - enjoy your food on one of their several outdoor tables.
