Most "pizza" and "Italian" restaurants are repeats of a bad formula - too large pizzas, with crusts that are either too thick or too thin, with too many toppings, and a list of by-standards like bruschetta and bolognese that are tired. Well, Fritti Changes that. It is Utterly refreshing, and we finally have a pizza place that takes me to Italy! Service: Lizzy was really helpful in pointing out what were the high points on the menu and how to combine menu options. The wine she picked was perfect with our dinner. Food - absolutely yum. The Tuna bresaola was genius, the skewers with the salads were light and flavorful - perfectly seared. And the pizzas are perfect single servings, which in our case we shared. I really enjoy a pizza where I can distinctly enjoy each element and that celebrates the ingredients. Ambience - we sat on the covered patio which was open, airy, and since it was after the sun has dipped below the buildings, just a lovely summer night ambience. We will be back soon! read more

I've eaten at some of Fritti's neighbors, Sotto Sotto, Pure Taqueria, and Parish, but never made it inside Fritti itself until recently. I went two times: once for a weekend lunch and once for a late weeknight dinner. The restaurant was mostly empty for Sunday lunch, but quite busy for Thursday night dinner. Not so busy that we had to wait for a seat, though. Fritti is housed in what looks like an old garage. It's pretty evident as you sit inside and look out onto North Highland through the restaurant's huge retractable doors. While these doors don't provide the best insulation, the space inside is naturally well lit thanks to all the glass. Along with the main dining area, there's also a small bar in a separate, smaller area right of the entrance. Fritti serves authentic Neopolitan pizza and the restaurant boasts on its menu certification by the "Verace Pizza Napoletana Association," one of the few restaurants in the country that have this designation. Like other nice pizza places around town, Fritti uses grade 00 flour to make their dough. Server Daniele recommended the Cape Sante appetizer. These were two large skewered scallops on top of a bed of cucumbers and radishes in a light lemon-vinegar sauce. These were good. The scallops were plump, tender, and juicy. I liked them so much I ordered them again on my second visit. Other appetizers I tried include their Arancini, which are Sicilian risotto and sausage croquettes, and the Bresaola di Tonno, which is cured tuna with arugula, radish, and lemon. The croquettes were dark brown and crispy on the outside while soft and delicate on the inside. They were served with tomato sauce. They were salty and didn't have much flavor. While not a terrible app, I probably wouldn't order it again. The tuna appetizer, on the other hand, was quite good and rich with flavor. I wish I could have some more. As for pizzas, so far I've tried: Maialona - salami, cotto ham, sausage, pancetta, and black olives Salsiccia e Peperoni - sweet italian sausage, roasted peppers Quattro Stagioni - cotto ham, artichokes, mushrooms, olives As it goes with Neopolitan pizza, toppings and ingredients are minimal. The Maialona is one of Fritti's more ingredient rich pizzas. Our server gave us the option to have the toppings either mixed together or separated (e.g. 1/4 of the pizza would have the salami, another 1/4 would have the sausage, etc.). They are able to do this with certain pizzas. We opted to get them all mixed together. For the Maialona, the meats were savory and salty (somewhat expected since many of the meats were cured). The pancetta was like eating juicy strips of bacon. The sausage had somewhat of a gamey aftertaste to it. The Salsiccia e Peperoni had plenty of sausage and sliced orange bell pepper. The Quattro Stagioni was pleasantly sour thanks to the olives. In general, I thought the pizzas were very appetizing and the thin crusts were delicious. Crushed red pepper and freshly grated Parmesan cheese is available upon request. The service is friendly and attentive. Complimentary valet parking is available on busy nights. You can also parallel park along any of the neighboring side streets for free. read more

It's been too long since I was last here. I was happy to meet a couple of friends for dinner one cold night. I'm glad to say Fritti is every bit as good as I remember it. Service was impeccable. We wanted for nothing. Timing on all courses was dead-on perfect. And the food was (of course) outstanding. Plus, you got to read a menu with Italian words on it. I started with dessert. That is, I started with a Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. Delicious. Then we enjoyed some Funghi Fritti, a crowd pleaser (crimini, portobello mushrooms, rice flour batter, white truffle oil). These were a little salty, but delicious. Then our entrees arrived. My friend ordered the Crocchette di Melanzane (eggplant, mozzarella and roasted croquettes, slightly smaller than a golf ball). She also had the Bietole e Mele (a beet salad made with Granny Smith apple, arugula, hazelnuts...) Way too healthy. The two pizzas on the table were hits. The Quattro Stagioni ( with cotto ham, artichokes, mushrooms, and olives) looked every bit a classic. And my Bianca (a white pie with mozzarella, ricotta, Fontina, emmenthal, parmigiano, and smoked mozzarella) was delicious. And then dessert came. The nutella pizza. This put me right over the edge. I was told Fritti was kid friendly and I could still order off the Sotto Sotto menu, so I decided to come here with my daughter for an evening out. We came on a Saturday around 5 pm.The hostess that greeted us was really sweet, but after we sat down service went downhill. Our server wasn't very friendly or attentive, and when she did talk to us she seemed to not be mentally present. You know when you're talking to someone and they give you a blank look and then keep asking you to repeat yourself. It was like that the whole time we were there. She barely checked on us despite it not being busy. We ordered a Margherita pizza, Cesar salad, the tagliatelle ai funghi (from Sotto Sotto's menu), a mock tail, an a wine spritzer. Was in ATL and stayed in Inman Park. This place was within walking distance from my Bed & Breakfast. About a 15mins walk. The restaurant was truly a neat place. Beautiful patio sitting area. I picked this place because I thought Yelp listed it as a pasta place. I guess I was wrong., they served pizzas. As we decided that we are not going to stay because we do prefer pastas over pizzas. Our host said she can accommodate us with a pasta menu from next door.. GREAT!! I asked for suggestion from our waitress. She know little about that menu nor can find someone who can make suggestions to what is best on the menu.. Her personality is meh. I feel somewhat of a nuisance that we are there and that we were being difficult for wanting pastas.. I ordered the dish with duck. Whereas my friend ordered the sweet sausages. Came here with some friends after my orchestra performance. It's REALLY REALLY HARD TO HEAR IN HERE. Something about the layout makes it sound like everyone is yelling and so then you need to yell to be heard- even to people across from you. Anywho- they have an amazing wine selection! I had the Orion- similar to a Malbec and very soft and full bodied. Looking forward to coming back for another glass or bottle! My guests and I all had pizzas and they were super tasty. The menu consists of small plates for sharing($8-14), salads, a few main dishes and then pizzas($11+) which are quite popular. Our group tried the croquettes(yum), calamari(standard), and bruschetta(4 pieces to an order). We also ordered a side salad and a Cesar Salad with grilled chicken(large enough for a single persons entree), and 2 pizzas(4 cheese and tomato basil and cheese). Everything was delicious and well portioned. The wine was also delicious. Well curated and glasses were $8-12 on average. Probably best wine Inman park. Valet parking is free under 2 hours. I have enjoyed all my meals at Fritti. The staff is attentive and courteous. The pizza is excellent and enough to take some home or split with a companion. The variety reminds me of many of the types you can order in Italy. If you want an Italian meal ask for the menu from Sotto-Sotto. They share the kitchen with Fritti. I also like doing this because I do not always want the fancier place setting in Sotto. I have been here with several groups and knew we were going to be louder. I went to Fritti with some coworkers for lunch one Friday. We got there just after noon. There weren't very many people dining, so our party of 5 fit well. We were greeted by the server who began pouring us all waters. Since there were 5 of us, we decided to order three different types of salads and three different pizzas. We ordered the Rucola (arugula), Caesar, and Robiola Fritta (arugula with fried goat cheese) salads - all of which were really good. The Robiola Fritta was really different but delicious! For our three pizzas, we went with the Bianca (white pizza), Speck e Rucola, (Proscuitto and smoked mozzarella), and the Calamari Fritti. The pizzas were superrr good. My favorite was the Bianca! I would normally leave a 4 star but I can't because of Covid and the fact that they're open past 9pm. The chef salad had a grand total of 3 minuscule cherry tomatoes; basically the size of capers. The pizza was very watery, our table was at an incline and you can see the toppings float to the other end, yes, it is fresh mozzarella and yes it was delicious; but bring a spoon. Fritti is probably the best Neapolitan pizza spot in atl, better than antico's, better than varuni Napoli, this is the place. Pizza comes out fast, and it is delicious. Their pizza menu also gets the most creative award, with traditional pies and more modern ones with prosciutto, caramelized onions, red pepper flakes, and more. Their Caesar salad and calamari is also to die for, and wouldn't be out of place on the coast of Italy. Save room for creamy gelato. Get a seat inside if you can. Their exposed outdoor metal canopy echoes and it is nearly impossible to have a conversation without yelling during a busy Saturday dinner rush. I have not had a bad experience with the servers here either, they are all punctual and polite. My only gripe is a pretty poor beer selection and a wine selection that could change more often, but the wines they serve pair nicely with the meal always, and besides, I'm being nit picky. Fritti is located in Inman Park at the corner of North Highland Ave and Elizabeth St. Parking can be challenging around this area so I recommend taking a uber or lyft. Food: I tried the Crocchette di Melanzane as a starter and the Speck e Rucola pizza. The croquettes come in fours, making it great to share between 2 or 4 people. The pizza is also decently sized. Between two people, we were able to have 3 slices each and felt full after. Dessert: they share the dessert menu with the italian restaurant next door so you get a variety of desserts to order from. We got the panna cotta which was glazed with a very fragrant balsamic vinegar sauce. The vinegar was pretty potent, but I enjoyed the contrast between the creamy custard and the tart sauce. Service: Our waitress was polite and checked in on us periodically to make sure we were enjoying everything. The food came super fast so it makes you feel like the meal is a little rushed, but I think they were just trying to get people in and out during peak dining hours. read more

Went here yesterday and with the garage doors open it was the perfect spring ambience! We luckily got seated pretty quickly and our waitress was super kind. I first started off with a dessert, the affogato, which was this delicious chocolate gelato with a shot of espresso on the side. Immediately I was impressed with the experience! I ordered the pizza with the Gorgonzola, aged balsamic vinegar, and pineapple and my boyfriend ordered the vegetarian pizza. He was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations. We had the calamari and I think it was probably some of the best calamari I've ever had! It wasn't too chewy which is usually an issue I run into and it also didn't have a lot of tentacles which is another thing I usually don't like. It was a nice portion and flavored just right. The pizza was really good. I purchased the one that was comparable to a meat lovers pizza. It was deliciously cheesy and flavorful. The food here is so good. This is my second time here. Service was not great this time. It was packed and I get that, but if your server has 50 tables, some with a party of 8, some with under 3. We were under 3 and got lost in the shuffle as in forgotten, said he would bring things out, never did, we had to hunt him down for refills, service was a mess, but clearly his focus was the bigger tables which sucked, but the food was perfect at least. Love the indoor/outdoor seating, especially when the weather is as nice as it was. Great time. Manager (shirt blonde hair) was the worst when the food finally came out after 55 minutes I told her we didn't want it and just wanted to close out. I have been coming here for years and only come back because the food is pretty good. The service is absolutely horrible. The servers are rude, don't care, and yet expect a good tip. You have to ask for everything and they take their time with no urgency. I actually dread walking into the restaurant because the atmosphere is so low. After the recent experience that I had at Fritti I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We had a reservation and were immediately seated, but it took over 15 minutes for the waiter to come over to our table. He never apologized that it took him so long to come to our table, and he did not seem very friendly. I was semi disappointed in the menu, so I asked him if I could create my own pizza with 2 ingredients and to add chicken to the pizza. Little did I know that the charge for chicken was $6, and my total bill was over $20.50 for a very average pizza. I am very annoyed because the average prize of the pizzas on the menu are $13-14 and many of the pizzas included protein for no extra charge. Also, no where on the menu does it say that chicken will be an additional charge of $6. Additionally, I am annoyed that the waiter would not relay this information to me when ordering the pizza. He should have informed me that the price to add chicken would be $6, or I could order a pizza with chicken already on it and just remove some of the ingredients that I did not like. It was obvious that he was just after a good tip. The waiter then charged my bill to my friend's credit card which delayed us leaving and caused us another inconvenience. I would not return to this average pizza joint again, and I highly recommend that management implement better training for their servers. read more

Love Fritti! Their menu is a little overwhelming because there is just so much good stuff. I recommend going with a medium sized group so that you can split multiple things. The pizzas are all top notch. Go a little crazy and pick something you normally wouldn't - you won't be upset. But then again, their classic margherita hits the spot too. The pies themselves are a little small, so if you have more than 2 people, or 2 people who are really hungry, definitely get more than one pizza to share or pizza and something else. Great wine and beverage options as well. I also enjoy the atmosphere, though as with most industrial-styles it can get very loud. Far too long since I'd been! We weren't set on anything besides being hungry yesterday, and found ourselves smack in the middle of High Sunday Brunch Time. Hmm. He wanted to try Highland Bakery but no dice on parking, etc. Fritti was a perfect choice, though totally different food direction! We snagged the one patio table that was open. Service was lackluster (don't even know our gent's name) but the food was great. We always get calamari and I remembered loving theirs- it is indeed still the lightly battered, crispy goodness of mostly rings that I recalled. Must get if you like calamari like we do. Surprisingly, his idea was the speck and arugula pizza - I adore arugula but him, not so much. Prosciutto, arugula, tomatoes and cheese (no sauce)....totally understand why this is their top seller. Three pieces each was perfect. Don't know if that's normal portions or we were just hungry, but the light and perfectly crispy crust and the generous amounts of toppings was gobbled up quickly. I don't know if it was just a bad night or what but the quality of service and attitude of the staff was TERRIBLE. To start, they placed us at a hightop table knowing that we had a baby who needed to sit in a highchair. We got there a little bit later than the rest of our family and when I saw the high chair at the table I couldn't help but laugh out loud. We had to put the high chair aside and just hold the baby. I'm a little confused as to why the host thought that would be the best place for a family with a baby in the first place. Unfortunately the table was placed right below a very strong air conditioner as well and sitting on one side of the table felt like you were getting blown away by the Alaskan winds. It was just a very uncomfortable situation altogether. Our server took incredibly long to bring anything out that we asked for. I mean a painful amount of time waiting for each and everything we ordered with exception of the pizzas which the cooks got out very quickly. Even something as simple as a little extra olive juice for a martini: 10 minutes had gone by since I had asked and finally I had to ask the manager who was running pizzas. He seemed annoyed that I asked and brought it out to me without a word and walked away. I'm a little confused as to why everything took her so long considering at the time of us being there she only seem to have two or three tables. Having multiple people at the table who work/have worked in the industry we tried to be understanding but it was incredibly frustrating and made it difficult for us to enjoy ourselves when it felt like we were not even a thought to our server. Trying to figure out payment was a mess as well. In addition we had paid for valet which was supposedly validated by the restaurant, but because it took her so very long to do everything, we ended up being there for 2 1/2 hours, much longer than any of us had anticipated being there. Therefore the validation was moot point and we still had to pay. I've been to this restaurant many times in the past and for the most part it's been an enjoyable experience, but after this I have no interest in going back anytime soon. read more

BUT- just picked up a to go order: prices are 15% higher (FYI Yelp prices are the old prices)-I wasn't expecting price increase, but if pizza had been as expected then increase is understandable. The reason for the negative review is that pizzas are now 25% smaller as well-- smaller boxes also, so it's clearly not a one off. On our recent Sunday night visit we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes to get drinks. ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES FOR DRINKS. Nothing comped either, they just apologized for "the mess". Needless to say: we won't be back. I can't remember the last time I had to wait that long to get drinks much less food at the table. And their food is definitely not worth that wait. I was in a group of seven that tried this restaurant for the first time in a long while tonight. The food was good, no complaints there. However, the restaurant was quite loud- I don't care to shout at my companion across the table to be heard. Our waiter had some difficulty getting our order, had to come back a second time to get it. The thing that got me was when the drinks came, the server stood at the end of the table, and passed the drinks down. Perhaps she should look up the definition of "server". I had ordered a non-alcoholic drink, and had to ask for it again after the entrees were served. Then, when our entrees came, of course this server didn't know who had ordered what. When the plates were "handed out" we had to ask him to remove our appetiser/salad plates. The manager did hear of our disappointment, and to his credit comped our checks. Hopefully he will take the comments to heart and train his staff in the proper way to serve food.
