Even outside of delivery markups, I wouldn't spend this amount again. Maybe it was an off day. What we ordered: * Carne Asada (Marinated Strip Steak) - $18.95 Not bad. * Queso Frito - $5 Very small portion for the price. * Quesadilla Nicaragüense - $8.75 We didn't eat it after being disappointed with the rest. * Nicaraguan Nacatamales - $12 Also didn't eat due to overall disappointment. * Vigorón Fritangón - $16.95 Okay, but the pork portion didn't match the price. * Masitas de Cerdo Frito Not good -- dry and lacking flavor. * Ensalada de Repollo - $5.65 Okay. Cute hidden gem! You don't see many Nicaraguan restaurants past pines so seeing this I knew I had to stop on my way home. I ordered the carne asada platter which comes with gallo pinto (rice and beans) snd your choice of side. I got the fried plantain chips or tajadas. I also had a side of their fried cheese. They do cook the meat to the finish of your choice which I have never seen so that was cool. Due to that there is a little wait. Now for the taste...overall I give it a 3 because of the taste. I have tried many Nicaraguan spots in Miami (being from there). And well this one just didn't hit the same. I felt like the rice and beans couldve had a little more taste and the meat was well seasoned but was also served with chimichurri which I found interesting. The price I was also surprised about. Gave Fritangon Nica a try and was NOT disappointed!! As soon as we walked in the cook and server immediately greeted us. As well as the owner, showing us great hospitality. Now for the food, the carne asada was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, the gallo pinto was full of flavor and my tajadas were freshly made... and let's not forget the queso frito! I'm drooling just thinking about it. I live in north Florida, but originally a Nicaraguan from Miami, so getting to take my family to indulge in this delicious food was definitely a very much missed treat for us. You can get a large platter with so many combinations like pico de gallo (rice and beans), beef, chicken, or pork, and sides like sweet plantains and fried cheese. If you get a platter with meat, they will cook the meat in front of you. Everything always tastes so fresh, which is worth the little wait. The gentleman that took our order I believe his name is Mark. Very rude. Myself and another coworker went there for lunch. We both ordered the skirt steak with fried cheese and white crème sauce. First he almost didn't want to serve me since I was not Hispanic. Second he then charged a total of $50 for both plates and an addition $5 for a very small container of white crème. Mark was very rude and should be reprimanded for his customer service skills. The quality of the food at best was "ok". The lady did try to give us a larger container of the white crème which we declined. I would not recommend this place due to the fact the of horrible customer service. read more

First time trying Nicaraguan food. I really want to see what their style of tamales is so I got it. Warning: this is steaming hot! They make it when you order it. It's wrapped in foil and it's very hot to touch it! I still had it wrapped right after 10-15 mins and it was still very hot. There was still steam inside. I got spicy version. There is a kick but it's not super spicy. It's definitely a good portion of tamale. It's very seasoned and tasty. There's rice inside and I did find one small meat bone but that's a okay. The meat is very tender and not tough. There are some peppers and seeds inside but it's not super spicy. Btw I can handle medium spicy. My friend got carne asada and she said it's good. We were so excited to try this Fritanga in Davie, and was so disappointed! First thing we noticed is they have no prices displayed anywhere, and was so expensive! We got 2 meals, 3 sodas, ( were old and no gas) and 2 tacquitos and paid $60 plus! Everything was old, hard, and cheap quality. Refried beans were cold and a tiny shot cup size, tacos were hard and meat tasted old, gallo pinto was so hard and old, meat was not enough, served me more onions than meat and not enough sauce! It was exciting to see a Fritanga on Sterling Road in the plaza where Brother's Farmers market is located. When I stopped by, they were having their soft opening. The place was clean and well organized. I ordered Carne asada. It came with rice and beans. I had a choice of sweet plantains of fried plantain chips. The meat was cooked to order which was nice. There were many other options in the case to choose from. I saw huge Nacatamals which I will have to try next time. The meat was cooked just right and had excellent flavor. The rice and beans were lacking a bit. The plantains were cooked just right. The cabbage slaw that comes with the dish was finely sliced and all balanced. If I could this place 0 stars I would. I try to be very fair and just with my ratings and I do not like rating low. I placed my order through Uber eats for pick up. I ordered the rice & beans, breaded fish, and fried cheese. I arrived home after picking up the food and was very excited. I opened my container, tried the fish first which was extremely salty to the point that it irritated the tip of my tongue. But what I saw in my rice was the longest, thickest, black hair embedded in the rice. I was so grossed I almost threw up. I immediately drove to the store and informed them and the employee up front took the container, opened it and asked if I wanted a new order or just the rice to which I said just rice is fine. The chicken with the chimichurri sauce poured over was really juicy and had great flavor. They give you a spicy orange sauce too. Pouring it over the yuca made it slightly spicy and really good. So after hearing that this place was good I decided to give it a try and not many fritangas around my neighborhood. This is definitely not authentic. The meat was flavorless, and weird taste to it. The meat taste like liver for some odd reason. Gallo pinto (rice & beans) they are better in pollo tropical. The plantains were tasty and also the fried cheese was good. But other that that definitely not authentic. The prices overall seem a little steep..for example the Carne Asada meal which comes with your choice of sweet plantains or plantain strips and Gallo pinto(beans and rice mixed) is almost $13..thats not even including the queso frito which is usually a must! So with the fried cheese the meal is $16. overall food was good but I probably will never go back because of the prices. I prefer making a drive to Pinolandia or go to La Hormiga de Oro on pines where you get good portions for the price and food is just as good.
