I have never been so disappointed after spending so much money at a Peruvian restaurant. I'm a foodie, and I have no problem paying $$$$ for a meal if it's worth it. One thing about me: I'm absolutely obsessed with Peruvian cuisine. Unfortunately, this place completely missed the mark. The service was terrible from the start. They use electronic tablets as menus, but mine was dead. I had to wait nearly 10 minutes just to get someone's attention and receive a replacement. That's just the beginning. My food arrived before my drinks, and I had to repeatedly ask for a bottle of water and a spoon. I ordered the chaufa, and it was incredibly oily. It didn't even have the proper color or flavor you'd expect from a good Peruvian fried rice. I would've taken a photo, but by that point we had already waited so long that I just wanted to eat. To make matters worse, the dish was mostly rice with maybe 10 pieces of chicken scattered throughout. I left half of it untouched. I also ordered ceviche and specifically wanted shrimp and fish. Instead, they brought me fish only and somehow upsold me to a different fish that I never asked for. Of course, I didn't find that out until the bill arrived. Overall, it was overpriced, disappointing, and nowhere near worth the money. Save yourself the frustration and spend your hard-earned money somewhere else. read more

There are a lot of Peruvian restaurants in Dade and Broward county, but this is one that makes it to the top of my list because of the authentic taste of their dishes. The best Seco de Res (beef stew prepared in cilantro sauce) that I've had in this area has been here. Another favorite of mine in this restaurant is their ceviche in green sauce. It is delicious and I have not seen it being offered in any other place. Sr. Ceviche is located in a small plaza on University Dr. south of Sheridan. The locale is small and casual, but comfortable and very clean, and service is always fast and friendly. If you would like to try some authentic Peruvian cuisine, give Sr. Ceviche a try. Each time I order the ceviche verde, I am transported to the day I first tried Peruvian ceviche at this exact location about a decade ago. The leche de Tigre and the green ceviches are exquisite and I have to mention the LOMO SALTADO, it's the best I've ever had. Some places make it too salty but not here. It's perfect. We visited this restaurant twice and really the anticucho is worth 5 stars on its own! The portion is generous and it is prepared to perfection. I've ordered this dish in many different Peruvian restaurants but this is hands down the best I've ever had. Across the two visits, my family and I also tried the ceviche mixto rocoto, papa a la huancaina, tuna & octopus causa, and the Parmesan scallops. I would confidently recommend everything except for the scallops, which are frankly awful LOL. Please do yourself a favor and order literally anything on the menu but that. I fell in love with Sr. Ceviche in Aventura, but after realizing there's one location in Pembroke Pines, I thought to stay local. So I have been coming to this location for over a year now. Well guess what? No one at this restaurant cares that I have been coming here 2-3 times/month and spending closer to $100 or over every single time. No one knows me, says hi to me or greets me or my family members. Why do I still come here with my family then? Perhaps I meant to give them way too many chances? I just came here again Friday night again, and left. PERMANENTLY. Shall we see why: 1. The calamari on my XL Mr. Ceviche were over-fried. I had to send it back. 2. The mild Ceviche I asked for was not mild. It was spicy. I sent it back. 3. Calamari from #1 came back still impossible to eat. 4. Server forgot to serve cutlery. 5. Server forgot to serve napkins. 6. Sever forgot to serve plates. 7. Server didn't like that I asked for warm friend corn instead of stale cold ones. 8. Because my Ceviche was spicy I had to order snapper. Alas, the snapper was NOT fresh. She said it was. It was not. You can never mistaken a fresh fish. I paid $130 for a sub-par dinner. I was forced to tip 18%, when the server was LOUSY and INATTENTIVE. But no one at this restaurant cared. We left extremely disappointed. Shame on you! I'm going back to Aventura. Good bye. read more

It's not by any means a fancy place but they put love into their food and service is good as well. Absolutely delicious place to come dine but unfortunately horrible service. Told the server well done steak and came out rare, not even med rare. Took 30 minutes to bring out the steak again after we all finished our food. She didn't refill our waters until we asked for the second time. Never checked back up with us once after the food arrived to the table to make sure everything was ok. We actually had to get up and ask her for an extra set of cutlery. To sum it up at the end she ended up added 20 percent tip on our bill when it does not say it no where in the menu. I would understand if it was 6 or more of us but it was only 4. Nice little restaurant. Located inside a plaza where there is a papa john, dunkin etc. The plaza is currently doing some upgrade to the exterior of the building. We tried the octopus ceviche. And it had a good amount of octopus. However, I felt it was over powered with lime flavor, making it very tangy. It wasnt bad, it's just my opinion on the ceviche but really nice presentation. The steak was cooked perfectly as ordered and very good amount of food. I really enjoyed this restaurant and look forward to trying new items! read more

We were introduced to this place by friends. On a recent Friday night we took a chance on eating Peruvian. Apparently ours friends love coming here so we went. The atmosphere is simple & quaint place window view to the plaza. We started off with some appetizers, the first was a potato covered in a yellow cream sauce with hard boiled eggs, it was tasty. The other appetizer was a tostone ( fried plaintain cup) filled with ceviche, it was citrusy & lemony, also good. I should mention that the picosour, is worth trying, that is their specialty drink. Back to the food which by the way I cannot pronounce or remember exactly what the meals were called but will try my best. Mine was simple chicken breast, white rice topped with egg & fries not to daring I must say. My hubby ordered the seafood rice which for him did not seem adequate in terms of seafood however his size also could eat seconds. Our friends got some beef with noodles which he totally enjoyed and had leftovers. Everything was presented beautifully as you will see in the pictures. Im not big on Peruvian food though I have tried Peruvian chupa seafood elsewhere & love it, perhaps next time. We topped the night off with delicious flan & coffee. $240 with tip for four. WOW! I'll definitely be coming back. Now I see why this place has so many good reviews. We came during this coronavirus pandemic and the tables were spaced at least 6 feet apart. Masks were required to enter but could obviously be taken off at the table. The prices were average, the food was bomb, and the service was awesome. The server was sweet, attentive, and patient. She explained the menu items well and made great recommendations. What we got: Causa de atún: It's like a Peruvian shepherds pie. Tuna in between cold mashed potatoes and they put this pink sauce as a garnish that is so good. The only negative about this is that the egg was overcooked (green lining). Ceviche clásico: I got the spice medium and it was quite spicy so next time I'll get mild. It was delicious!! One of the best ceviches I've had. Tacu tacu with tenderloin: we didn't know what tacu tacu was and when you see it says rice and bean tortilla and you're scratching your head, that's exactly what it sounds like lol. They mix the rice and beans together, mash it up to form a round disc and fry it. The rice isn't crispy, it is still soft and has a good texture. Mahi al tamarindo with green rice: OH MY GOSH. If you get anything, ORDER THIS!!!! Holy smokes this was good. Not sure what they flavor the rice with but I know they put Parmesan cheese in it. And that tamarind sauce is the bomb.com. The Mahi was delicious and cooked perfectly. 10/10 recommend! Tres leches: WOW! THE BEST TRES LECHES EVER! never have I ever had such a juicy tres leches.
