First time coming to one of these establishments in my entire life. I've passed them up consistently but I've never had a chance to dine in at Frisch. On top of that, a colleague told me to try a some Goetta, since they're a staple of Cincinnati. There was a bit of a weight when it came to getting a seat. After sitting down, I was taken care of right away and I enjoy the size of the menu. The prices were very well affordable too! Plenty of great selections and there are all the breakfast options. The wages was incredibly kind and social. This place seems to have plenty of regulars too. Food was incredibly good and really worth the price! I was basically in and out of the establishment in about half an hour and I wasn't being rushed out either which was great. I wasn't used to going up to the counter to pay my bill instead of dealing with the server but there wasn't anything wrong with that. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I brought my girlfriend and our son out for dinner, and they are both African American. From the moment we walked in, we were met with uncomfortable looks from staff and other guests. We waited about 20-25 minutes to be seated while several parties who arrived after us were seated immediately. Every one of those parties were white. During the meal, my family continued to receive dirty looks and were treated in a way that made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. No family should feel like they're being judged or treated differently just for trying to sit down and enjoy a meal together. In 2026, experiences like this should not still be happening. I came to Eastgate Frisch's big boy on Sunday, November 2. I went through the drive-through and ordered this hot fudge cake and once I left the restaurant to enjoy my hot fudge cake. This is what it looked like. Barely any hot fudge on this delicious dessert. The hot fudge is supposed to be the star of this dish, but look at this mess here I grew up on hot fudge cakes at the Bethel Frisch's location. So I've never heard of Frisch's because there isn't one in Southern California. After relocating to Cincinnati, I started to see this establishment in many areas. We went here because we needed lunch lol and my father-in-law apparently loves this place, especially for their tartar sauce. My husband ordered a standard burger and he said it was good but obviously nothing too special. I went for a spicy chicken sandwich and to be honest I was incredibly disappointed because in the picture, it looked like breaded and fried chicken. What I got was a grilled chicken, so to my disappointment I was pretty bummed out. It still had good flavor but I was craving for a type of fried chicken sandwich. This place is okay. read more

Stopped there in the early afternoon and they were busier than I thought they would be for a Thursday afternoon. They seemed to have sufficient staff and we were seated promptly. Our server was quick to wait on us and quite friendly. My wife and I both had a big boy and onion rings. The food came out quickly and was hot. The sandwich was dry, it had the usual condiments on the sandwich, but the buns are obviously different because it just falls apart. The hamburger patties didn't have that sear to them as usual. The onion rings were a little too oily. This is a Frisch's we ate at a lot a few years ago, not so much anymore because we moved. The one by where we live presently is closed now. Just left there. First came in and went to the bathroom there was no toilet paper and blood on the toilet. Server was all over the place didn't seem to be in tune to what we were saying. My mash potatoes and gravy came out cold as if it just came out of the fridge. I asked the server if I could have warm mash potatoes and gravy. 2 more times it came out iced cold. Best Feature: Decent food and I LOVE their flavored syrups! Worst Feature: The food is definitely a fast-food kind of quality. I have been here several times recently, and all my visits were quite excellent!! They offer a great selection of different dishes - you can choose from sandwiches to pastas and even their breakfast bar during certain hours. I've eaten many times from the breakfast bar - they service all kinds of different breakfast foods, including biscuits + gravy, bacon, sausage, fruit, cottage cheese, cereal, and more! If you're eating healthier, they do have fruit, yogurt, and other healthier alternatives if you're not looking to eat greasier, fatty foods. I'm not as fond of their sandwiches; if you're not a huge sauce person, be sure to ask for some condiments on the side. They tend to put a lot on the sandwiches, in my opinion. You can choose from eating in to just driving through, which is convenient if you're in a hurry. One unique element about Frisch's is their sodas - you can add several different flavored syrups to your beverages! I love this, as it is not the usual manufactured flavors (e.g. Coca-Cola's Cherry Coke). I know they have cherry and vanilla; I'm fairly sure they have a few more outside that. I'm a huge fan of the cherry syrup and go often for a diet Cherry Coke (it's an addiction, but I'm okay with that :-) ) I'm not always as fond of the food quality, however. It's got a definite "fast food" quality to it that I'm not the biggest fan of. But you do get what you pay for, and I know I'm also choosing to eat out at a cheaper restaurant chain, so that kinda comes with the territory with places such as these. Every time I have come here, the service is great! I've only had one bad experience about 2 years ago when a waitress actually argued with us about what we had ordered. She earned herself every bit of that penny tip - since then, I've had fantastic servers. They are always kind and helpful, willing to customize your order and always attentive. Frisch's Big Boy is one of my favorite places to eat in the Greater Cincinnati area. The Big Boy sandwich in Cincinnati is one of the best you will ever find. I've had Big Boy in other cities and none of them come close to the ones in Cincy. The tarter sauce is amazing! Frisch's is a chain but has maintained a local feel. Most of them are kept very clean and the staff is very friendly. We love going there whether it is just our small family or a large group of friends. If you're in Cincinnati, you've got to go to Frisch's and get a Big Boy...done the right way! TIP: Big Boy sandwiches also make for a great breakfast. My husband and I are traveling and since there are no Big Boys near where we live, I jump at the chance to go to one if I see it. We had to wait a while to be seated, but they were obviously understaffed and trying really hard (the boomers and seniors who were grumbling had no compassion). I wanted to cry happy tears because this was a flashback of joy for me. When I was a child, I relished the time I got to spend time with my grandparents in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They used to take me to Big Boy, Hall's, MCL Cafeteria, and Richard's (all their senior hangouts lol). I got little kid things like chicken legs, applesauce, and grilled cheese. When I came here today, I had to have a grilled cheese to see if it tasted like I remembered. IT DID... and it made me SO HAPPY!!!!! I know this is silly, but it tasted like childhood and that's what I told the waitress and the manager who rang us up. I went to Eastgate Frisch's drive thru. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, bacon, & wheat toast. It cost $ 9. 49. They added hash browns, which I did not want. The toast COMPLETEY burnt. I called them, & she said she was saving me money, & wheat toast looked burnt. They offered a free meal, why would I punish me. IF you are going to charge HIGHER prices, maybe serve decent food! So me and my husband ate there today for breakfast. I opened the menu to see a few things that I had loved to eat for breakfast there, missing. The breakfast sandwiches were gone. The breakfast burritos were no longer listed. I asked about the burritos and she said, 'They came back. They can make you one.' So I ordered one. My husband ordered pancakes and scrambled eggs. There ended up being a gnat or some kind of bug floating at the top of my glass of water which the waitress kindly replaced. My husband thought the pancakes tasted horrible. The eggs were paper thin and looked overcooked. When we went up to the counter we asked about why the breakfast sandwiches weren't in the menu anymore. She said they were.
