Nothing like a good old dose of nostalgia in food form!! I haven't been to a friendly in probably over 10 years as most of them near me were closed. We drove over an hour to come here for my birthday lunch and let me tell you it of course did not disappoint! The service was good and friendly. The buffalo chicken tenders and bbq chicken super melt were just as good as I remembered! I also got a vanilla shake to take home, capping of the experience. Just can't beat friendly's! I hope they bring one back near me, if not I'll probably be back here this summer. read more

I typically try not to eat at chain restaurants. However, I'm out of town for work and was excited to see a Friendly's since we no longer have them in Buffalo. I did order through DoorDash the $100,000 Cob Salad. Judging by the picture on DoorDash, I was wondering how big of a salad it was going to be and if I would be able to finish it. In the pictures below, you will see the picture of the salad posted on DoorDash and the picture I took of the salad I received before I had even eaten anything out of it. This is a legacy place for me. I worked at a location in Concord, Massachusetts many years ago, when Friendly's was a growing and influential food chain. Now they are not so much influential. They have reduced the chain from 550 locations to approximately 175. I know there are now none in Ohio, and this location is the only one left in western NY. Too bad. Ice cream in gallons is still available in many grocery stores and convenience stores. We had the usual. Fribble (still great). Hamburg (still great). Chowder (still great). Fries (still great). My family and I went on March 11, 2026, for my birthday, ill add i did not want to go to friendly's as for Ive never had a good experience here, when we got there, the waitress, acted like she was strung out and had very rollercoaster like emotions, she served us our drinks and handed us over to another waitress who honestly seemed very clueless and if the bad for her, the first waitress hung around forever almost running into signs, also our table was very dirty, when ordering our food, the first waitress was very snappy, the bathrooms were disgustingly dirty. There was no one there when we got here, and some how it took them forever to get us our food over two hours and we waited 45mins for ice cream, our food was gross and cold and tasted terrible, barely any fries on my sons plate, ice cream was served overly melted, the cone holder was dirty, people actually walked in and waited for 10mins and then walked out because they did not get a place to sit because they was ignored, door dash workers were waiting endlessly for there customers orders, I have reached out to the corporate office left my number and name and this restaurant will not respond to my email or name and number, my husband paid over $100 for food that sat with seals on it, the floors were dirty and everyone seemed spaced and drugged out. ILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT ESTABLISHMENT again!! completely ruined my birthday, I dealt with a angry pissy moods the way home for the amount of money it cost to eat there.... id like to for the management to reach out to me as for ive tried numerous times and no response.... if you value your health dont take your family there. On my first visit, I ordered the "You Pick 3" entree and was pleased with the soup and burger that I ordered. The fries are crispy and well seasoned and the burger was a generous, well cooked patty. I also enjoyed the broccoli soup. My issue with this visit was that my bill seemed more expensive than I originally predicted and I didn't have an opportunity to see the itemized bill after I presented the server with my credit card, only a total. On my second visit, service was kind of slow but the food was good. On both visits, the highlight of the meal was the black raspberry ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream. Friendly's looks like is heading towards retirement sooner than later. This outdated and drab restaurant in Olean does not excite me to come back anytime soon. The Turkey/Bacon Melt was average at best. The bread was extra greasy due to the fact it was not grilled properly. The side of onion rings were undercooked and I had to pick out the two or three that were somewhat crispy. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch salad which was 'ok' she said. As for the positives...our waitress were nice and always checking on us to make sure our drinks were full. They also suggested downloading the Friendly's app to earn a free sundae with our meal. My family wanted to eat hear really bad because of the lobster special. I have to admit, I was surprisely impressed. I always felt the food here was always subpar except for the delicious ice cream and their options, and that you paid a good price for a so-so meal. The lobster mac and cheese and lobster sandwich were all portioned well and delicious. The lobster quesadillas weren't bad, but I'd recommend sticking to Don Tequila in Allegany for that. Also, the service was unusually long. The waitress felt so bad we got 50% off and our desserts comped without having to use the coupons that we probably wouldn't be able to use up. I ended up getting the chicken with the cheese and bacon on it. The chicken was cooked to perfection. It wasn't too dry nor too moist. The service was excellent. My son and I are from out of town and wanted to eat somewhere that we didn't have in our city so we settled on Friendly's. When we pulled up my 10 yr old son made sure to tell me it looks really old "like it's from the 70s or something." It did have a retro feel. When we got inside it did feel like a diner but looks like it could've been kept up a little more but still wasn't too bad. We were seated and it was maybe 10 minutes before anyone even came to the table. We ordered and it took another 5-10 minutes for us to get out drinks. And another 15 to get our food. Our waiter was really nice but seemed preoccupied by a couple different groups of his friends that came in to hang out and seemed to make them his priority. Our food was AMAZING but we both ran out of our drinks midway through and no one came. We finished our meal and still no one came. After we had been done eating for 10-15 minutes he came and checked on us and asked if we wanted an ice cream menu and we said yeah. We waited another 5-10 minutes for the menu. After we ordered the ice cream came pretty fast, we finished and waited awhile again for the check. Again the waiter was super nice, just not very attentive to us, I'd like to think he's on the newer side and will get better with that. The whole meal from the time we walked in til when we walked out was 2 hrs and 15 minutes for a total of maybe 15 minutes of actual eating, but my son loved the food and wants to go back so the waiting was worth it I guess. read more

I had the crispy chicken salad which was displayed on the $5 menu. It was good but when we received the bill we were charged 9.28. The waitress explained that there were dates on underneath that showed the dates applicable. The staff here is great, everyone that waited on us over a two day period (total of four visits) was so down to earth and decent. We tried two other restaurants in the area while visiting our daughter at the college. One was run down, and the other one was so unprofessionally run, 'Friendly's' was better. I would have gone 5 stars, but the maintence here was not good. My wife asked what that smell was when we entered and exited the building, and I told her, it's the bathroom scent used to make otherwise smell better. That needs attention, but it's not the waitresses fault, they are super, and the food was every bit as good as I remember Friendly's to be. read more
