The room itself felt bright, warm, and inviting. Service from Michelle was prompt and friendly, even with the steady pace of the restaurant. We ordered three AYCE pancake and sausage plates, coffees, a kids' pancake, and a maple milkshake. Pro tip: skip sugar and add maple syrup to your coffee. Trust me! Whether you're visiting with a few family members or bringing a large group, the Maple Tree Inn is a place full of memories, tradition, and perfectly maple-infused breakfasts. It was an impressively sized piece of fish with a teensy cup of tartar sauce. It was then that I realized I hadn't asked if they used sweet or dill pickles in their sauce. I tasted it, it was sweet (ugh!), so I asked for some malt vinegar to try and substitute flavor. I really tried to eat and enjoy my meal, I used the vinegar, as much as I could squeeze out of the lemon and eventually a sprinkle of salt to give it some vibrancy. The problem was, without a good sauce, I couldn't get over how unpleasant the batter was and how flavorless the fish was (plus the inner layer of the batter was also unpleasant mushy).
