Let me start off by saying I am truly disappointed in this whole situation. I have been a huge fan of Friendlys since I was a child. I always went to the Sudbury location till it got shut down. I was super excited when I found one in Norwood MA, but quickly disgusted by the MANAGERS attitude. So its Sunday 3/8/2020 and I place an online order of a simple kids meal the Mac & frank. I receive an email saying my meal was ready by 1:57. I went to go pick up my meal but ahead of me was a man who was making a complaint about his service ( I should of listened to him ) his complaint took about 20mins so I just waited in line. When it was my turn this old lady who was the manager on duty goes and asks me what I want I simply say I have a pick up order OMG this old lady LOST IT she started yelling " no no no who's here to place an order I don't have anything ready no NEXT no I don't have any orders ready " so I simply tell her " well I received an email telling me when to pick up my meal". She tells me there's nothing she can do so I simply wait to the side. She takes another lady's order, then A Brazilian lady approaches mind you I noticed she was there before me waited and talked to someone previously. The Brazilian lady asks if her order is ready and again the old lady start screaming !! " I TOLD YOU I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING READY YOU JUST PLACED THE ORDER 10 MINS AGO YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT ATLEAST 40MIN I HAVE A FULL DINNING ROOM!!! " so in my head I'm like oh helllll no 40mins ?? I've been waiting 30 already. So I ask the old lady can I just get my money back she asks me for my name ( finally ) and I give her my name she goes to the kitchen and my meal was ready she hands me it and I leave. Okay the madness is over .. NOPE!! When I go pick up my child and hand him his meal he accidentally burned his fingers opening this bag!! They didn't even take it out the bag!! I'm disgusted by this behavior the manager clearly can not work under pressure and knows nothing about customer service!!! read more

This was the most trash that we have ever seen at a restaurant! We were going to get ice cream sundaes and while waiting to be seated we noticed lots of trash over every open table and all over the floor. Because of this we decided to go to the ice cream take out counter. While there we got to look inside the kitchen area and saw even more trash. I went there the other day, and we had one of the best kind of service you can get, people were patient, they weren't trying to kick us out fast like some restaurants do.. Thats good stuff, along comes their new technology, so on every table has this little mini device where you can play games, and its pretty cool. Gives you something to do if you are bored with someone and have nothing to talk about. Game Changing right there, not in all just reference to the games on it.. Plus the big thing on it is that YOU CAN PAY on it instead of waiting for your server. I have strong faith in this Friendly's and been going there for years and will definitely go back again and so forth. read more

Stopped in for breakfast on a weekday, and we got to take advantage of the 50% off breakfast feature. Newly remodeled location which is nice. Kim was our server and she was fantastic. The service was fast & friendly. The only issue was they were out of cranberry juice and breakfast potatoes, they only had their original home fries. Other than that it was a great stop. read more

First off, I have been going to Friendly's since I was young and everytime I've gone I've been nothing but good and I'm always satisfied in the end. When I arrived today the first thing I could smell was urine, I went there today with two others the hostess did not greet us then when I went over to tell the her how many guest I had and I asked to get kids menu she proceeded to have a attitude informing me you have to be 12 or younger, so i told her that's ok then she keeps going and is mocking me and making me feel extremely unwelcome. When she went to sit us she threw the menus down and said our waiter will be right there. She went over to the waitress and told her not to give us the kids menus when we asked about it to the waitress she informed us that the hostess told her to tell us no. I'm only in this area in a short vacation but Friendly's has always been a favorite restaurant chain. This one did not disappoint. It was clean and the service was friendly and prompt. All my food came out hot (or cold for the ice cream) and in a timely manner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area read more

I personally love Friendly's, and I think it is very convenient and has almost everything. I went with one other and I must say that we enjoyed it immensely. Our server, Kathy was an amazing, lovely lady who was very friendly (no pun intended) and made me love the experience. Great place if you like your waitress to take your order while she is cleaning her ear with her pinky, so glad they have gloves. Then the idiot charges me and walks away and forgets to make my sundae. After standing there for 10 mins listening to crickets, she walks back over to take my order, I ask if she is going to charge me and walk away again.. so when this empty head finally completes my order and I take it home, it has fucking nuts on it.. yea, please put me into anaphylactic shock. Fed 2 kids and 2 adults with ice cream for under $25. At that price short of spitting in your food can you really take any stars off. Fortunately for us that 100% wasn't the case the place was very clean with very friendly wait staff and management. Will be back read more

I was here last night and the food was very good, the only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 is because the bathroom was very dirty! The floor was sticky and it didn't look like the bathroom had been cleaned in weeks! I will say the atmosphere was nice and the food overall was very good. We have been coming here for 10 years we used to go to the one in Dedham well maybe once because is was really dirty and had heroin addicts working there. This was my first time in Friendly's in years and I must say I was impressed with the food. I had an amazing, albeit thin, cheeseburger. The fries were fantastic served in a little fryer basket. Friend had a very decent chicken patty sandwich. Prices were very reasonable. What I didn't like was the little tabletop iPad that cost $2 to use. Kids fought over who got to play first, etc. Place could be a little cleaner, less clutter but overall fine. Noise level was high but that was because it was a school holiday and packed with kids at lunch. Service good. I will return. read more

I don't come here often, but when I do, service is always decent and the food is always good. The managers are always on the floor helping out, and the staff always seems to be working hard. It's always clean and the tables get turned over fairly quick. read more

The worst experience. Got there and was seated right away. Wasn't busy and I should have taken that as a clue to turn around. Server took our drink order and returned with them. She came back in a bit to take our order. So far all is well. Took almost 30 minutes too get our food. Like I said its not busy. Asked server for more hollindaise sauce for eggs benedict. Got about 2 tablespoons more. Server (Shannon) never came back to refill coffee and never asked how everything was. Finally got her attention and asked for more coffee and creamers. Got the coffee but not cream. Asked for a to go cup for stepsons drink but never got that either. Food was OK but not great. Service was not there at all. Will never go back. Have been going here since I was a child and lived in JP. My mother Bypassed all the , now closed, Friendly's restaurants to go to this one because its product and service was superior to all the other Friendly's in the area. Mom is 70 and I'm 45. Now that I take my kid there. That is, up until yesterday. The worst service ever. Those tabletop computers are NO substitute for service. No wait staff ever came back to my section after food ordered and drinks delivered. I arrived at 11:30. 12:30 and the table in front of me and my light were at the edge of the table, flashing for eternity while every staff person saw it and kept walking. Both me and the table in front of me asked for the manager. He never came. If the long standing staff were working yesterday - Carol, Kim...even in chaos, as lunch in summer often is there, our service would have been handed appropriately. Delay is expected. The silly automated bill pay things are efficient, but really not yet a good friendly thing. Go at off peak hours. Why is this placed always slammed? I'm not sure but I have never gotten a seat without waiting. I mean, it's Friendly's. What's the big deal? The big deal is it is very kid friendly. The kids' meals come with an ice cream dessert. Who doesn't love that? If you are like me, you are finishing your kid's or nephew's or grandchild's ice cream for them after they happily ate all of their chicken fingers, fries, and milk. The adult meals are fine, too. Nothing special, but it is the same as you remember from your childhood. Seriously. The fish sandwich transported me back in time to having lunch at the mall as a teenager. In recent years many of the Friendly's have closed. This one won't. Folks come here from miles around for the same meals, unchanged after at least 40 years. This is a great Friendly's restaurant. It's big and has tons of parking. Every other Friendly's I've been to always seems to be short staffed, but not this one. Both times we've been here we were seated right away and the service was fast. My son loved the macaroni and hot dog kids meal. And of course the ice cream was awesome. Do you like french fries? Then you would like to eat at Friendly's. Friendly's is a restaurant that serves American food to kids and adults. I think Friendly's has good food.1 reason is you get to play video games. My favorite video game there is PVZ. Another reason is there fries are hot, soft and salty. They are better then other fries because they are tastier. Finally you can make your own sundae. Some of the toppings are kit kat bars, gummy bears and Oreo cookies. I have loved Friendly's since I was a child growing up in western mass. The food and ice cream were always fresh and delicious. Recently something has changed for the worse. The food served is no longer hot and fresh - it is served literally five minutes after placing your order , indicating the food is pre cooked. I ordered the $5.55 burger special yesterday - what I received looked nothing like the pictures. The two burger patties were dried out and about 1/4" thick. A joke. Think McDonald's regular hamburger patty size. The fries were just just warm and had a weird texture. Almost as if they were microwaved or cooked in a high speed toaster. My daughter had the chicken tenders - usually a favorite but not today. Pre cooked warmish look and taste. This was our second time with this new food. The first time I thought it was a fluke. Wasn't a very busy day and I thought the food was left over from their peak time. We won't be back. This makes me very sad because my family and I LOVED Friendly's. If you are long time customers you will note the decline in food quality right away. The shift to this mediocre sub par food has ruined our experience. read more

I have eaten here and it was ok. Just ok. I love cole slaw but my friend who was a cook here told me not to eat the cole slaw so I don't. When the cook tells me not to I dont. This location is only good for takeout. My spouse and I were out running errands and decided to stop in for a quick lunch. It appeared that no one working there wanted to be there or wanted to be bothered. My spouse and I waited 5 minutes just for a waitress to come and take our drink order. We had to stop her from leaving the table because we were ready to order and didn't want to wait another 5 minutes to put in our food order. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch sandwich for both of us and when it came out there was only an eye drop of ranch dressing on the bun. The waitress just dropped our food off at the table and left without asking if we needed anything which was more ranch since our "ranch sandwich" barely even had any on it. So we waited for her to come back. After waiting another 5 minutes, our food was starting to get cold and about 4 other waitresses had walked by our table with our little red "call service" light on, and no one ever came to ask if we needed anything. I had to physically walk into the kitchen and ask for extra dressing after about 6 minutes of waiting. The service was horrendous and I will never eat in there again. read more

:sigh: All we wanted was a simple breakfast, Ihop was busy as was the Old country Buffet, so our choices were Friendly's or Mcfonald's. First we were sat down at a dirty table, the guy that showed us to the table grabbed a napkin & "wiped" at the mess. Handed us menus and said our server would be right with us. When our server Kelly came to the table she began to ask if we would like drinks. And I pointed out the table was dirty. She stepped away and got the kid that had seated us to come over and wipe the table with a wet cloth, I picked up the table topper so he could wipe the whole table but when he finished wiping the end of the table he was standing at and the center he walked away. We were not in a booth he would have been able to get the whole thing. Kelly came back and asked about drinks. I ordered coffee and a lg cranberry juice. My boyfriend Paul ordered Orange juice, but Kelly said water as she wrote on the pad. Our friend Tom order coffee & knowing Paul had wanted an OJ he ordered that as well. Kelly returned with our drinks and took out food order. Paul & I like our Bacon very well done so that it is crispy, we always tell waitstaff "to burn it, literally". My order came to the table fine. Paul had ordered the two do e/ pancakes & bacon he was given a Lumberjack with Bacon that was inedible for him.Tom had ordered a Lumberjack with Frenchtoast and sausage and got a Two do. When Kelly came back to the table we told her the mistake, she promptly left to fix it. She returned with another two do with French toast. The French toast was not fully cooked & runny.
