The drink glasses was dirty upon serving and hair in the food for each dish. Could of been better.

Typically average...but not in a bad way. The four of us enjoyed our late morning breakfast here. no WOW factors...but three stars/A-OK. This spot offers 50% off all breakfast items....making it the least expensive morning meal in Enfield! I had the meat lovers omelette....very good with delicious hash browns(choice of fried or grilled). others had the lumberjack...the Big two do..and bacon and eggs. Our meal was enhanced by Terry...excellent server with a great personality. She scored extra points with her re-filling of our coffee cups. Ask any New Englander about Friendly's and I am sure you will get a lot of responses about the wonderful memories they have going there as a kid. Friendly's is a family-friendly place where you can go with your kids to have good food and even better Ice Cream. Friendly's has clearly undergone some changes after coming through bankruptcy, and they are still working out the kinks which should be expected; that being said, I know some people have said they have some issues with the service, though I can't say I have experienced any. I like the slim'ed down menu they offer - it seems as if they are going back to their roots of burgers, melts, and sundaes which I think is a great idea - their menu was getting a little too big if you ask me. Overall, Friendly's is a place where everyone in your family can enjoy dinner/lunch together and you can pass the torch to your kids by making some great memories there with them :-) read more

I have eaten ice cream here a couple times in the last couple weeks. LOVE the new decor and the awesome raise in ambiance. It feels like a modern, old fashion feel diner. The decor has changed, but not the service sadly. Sigh...oh..sighhhh!! Why? Friendly's just shut down over a dozen restaurants in CT. They improved their look, but not the management and service. It is very disappointing as I was anticipating a new and improved Friendly's. I visited this location and the Westfield, MA location recently and experienced the same service. I have come to terms that this is the Friendly's way. Disorganization. The total time to order a ice cream at the pick up window and receive is 20 mins constantly. Dining in for a Ice Cream- 35 mins. Ordered the clam strips here today and got mostly french fries that came with the smallest clam strips I've ever seen. Maybe the cook felt that clam strips are too expensive to really give you very many or someone in the kitchen ate the other half of my order is all I can guess. After several bad experiences from the East Windsor location, decided to give Enfield restaurant a chance and I was glad I did. Arrived for lunch, it's was steady not busy. As I walked through the door I was greeted by 4 members of the staff almost instantly. Robin came straight to the door and sat me. Robin was my server as well and was amazing. She made a simple mistake, but was quick to recognize it and make light of it, was great. My food arrived very fast, very hot and the quality was great. Robin kept my beverages full, table clear and was attentive, friendly, professional and over all excellent. The desert was really great too! Leslie stopped at my table and you could tell was a team player. She had her own tables and still stopped at others. The restaurant was very clean, the manager was seen multiple times engaging with the guests. I have to give a 4 star though, not because of the staff or the restaurant, but because the price verse portion was definitely not reasonable. A plate with a turkey melt with a small portion of fries and a small happy ending sundae came out to $17. Expensive. read more

I came today and got food to go at the pick up window and couldn't believe that I saw a worker behind the counter pick a maraschino cherry straight from the ice cream bar with her fingers and no gloves. This place is a disaster. I've eaten here a few times in the dinning room, although not since the renovation, so I really can't speak to that but my main problem with this place is the ice cream window. I have been here so many times when there are about two people working the window and no one else in line and it still takes 15-20 minutes to get 2 sundaes. I have no clue what takes so long; they are obviously not making anything fresh. This has happened every time I have come here and although I do love their hot fudge, it is definitely not worth the wait. If it took this long to get ice cream at Collins Creamery or Smyth's, they would have been out of business long ago. It's no wonder why so many Friendly's are closing... read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. Today I went in to pick up food that my office had ordered online, while standing their I witnessed with my own two eyes one of the waitress making a Sunday and removed the cherries from the bin to place on the Sunday with her fingers even thou their was a ladle in it....then she sucked her fingers and wipe them on her black pants. Disgusting!!! I wish I knew who was going to get served that Sunday because that was just the grossest thing witnessed. I asked for a manger when speaking to him he didn't seem fazed by it with I have inclination that this happens all the time. What was even more alarming is that she did this right in front of the pick up window where everyone could see what she was doing. Also when I mentioned to the manager her fingers were in the bin all he said was okay I'll talk to her.....um how about you throw out what's in that bin since it's been contaminated with her saliva and replace it with a new one???? Oh yeah, silly me why bother they are obviously just continue to do the same thing again. Today I placed my first online order : for an Apple Harvest Chicken salad. I picked it up around noon but kept it in my refrig until 6 pm as it was my dinner. I was very disappointed to later discover that there was no chicken in the salad. I double checked what I ordered and what I was charged for and grilled chicken definitely should have been included. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars only because I have ordered and enjoyed this salad many times there so I would recommend this item and this restaurant but tonight's dinner has now just turned into an expensive side dish. read more

Friendly's is my all time favorite restaurant. If I'm out with friends and we're deciding on where to go for dinner/lunch they don't even ask they know I want Friendly's. I mean great food and great ice cream? Who could want more? The one in Enfield has been newly remodeled on the inside. I think they are trying for more of a dinner fell. Personally I liked the old colorful version better, grey walls are a bit boring. But the food is still great, it's clean and (usually) has fast, friendly service. read more

Terrible! I went to the Enfield CT friendly's for the first time in years The service was barely ok We ordered our deserts to go When I got home they didn't put any ice cream in the sundays! One of them was a brownie 5 scoop Sunday they skipped the 5 scoops!.s Isn't that what they are supposed to be good at? So I called the store and asked for a manager Phil (the manager) Told me they have been getting a lot of complaints about that ....ok how does that fix my little boy and daughter getting ready for a movie opening their ice creams and nothing in there? My friend and I were very unsatisfied with the service we received on 2/19. Once we had gotten seated we waited 15 minutes for someone to come take out food and drink order until we had to ask ourselves. She did not even come over and ask us for it. When we were done eating we asked her to split the check three different ways because there were three of us. She did not ask us about the ice cream that came with our meals. So once we paid my friend asked for her free scoop of ice cream that came with her meal to take to go. The waitress gave her a hard time because she had already paid, even though the meal came with free ice cream. As she goes behind the counter we can hear her complaining about us wanting our ice cream. She comes back to the table and tells us she needs the receipt to do it. We had ripped up the receipt because it had our first and last names on it and we didn't want personal information laying around. So she picked up the ripped receipt and when back behind the counter and started telling her manager that "this is so ridiculous". My friend went up to her and said to her that if there was an issue that she didn't want her personal information on the receipt that she would just leave. The waitress ignored us and we left with no ice cream. And this is not the first time we've have this waitress. In the past she was just as rude, that's how we remembered her.
