5+ stars all around!! I am not one to ever leave reviews for places. I think I've left one or two in my entire life, but Friendly's deserves recognition. This a place where everyone is actually friendly. They do not try to charge you for unnecessary things, which is another A+ in my book! As a female, this has been my greatest concern in an auto shop. They do their best to keep your bill to a minimum. I have even suggested things I thought I might need done and was told that I did not need them. Shout out to Austin and Rob for always taking great care of me. I actually moved out of the area a few years ago, and I still come back. It was quite shocking, unprofessional & I believe unethical (& certainly NOT " FRIENDLY") to go in for a NO CHARGE, required insurance physical damage inspection, only to have the gal behind the counter tap on the plexiglass after collecting my info, to point out a sign that they having hanging up requesting tips.....including that they accept CASH & VENMO for the tip.... REALLY!?!?! POOR POOR Business practice. I am new to LB & looking for a reputable auto service spot, this is definitely off my list....I advised my insurance agent and will spread the word about their ridiculous practice of requesting tips.....COME ON NOW... I live about 20 minutes from Friendly's, and I pass by a Mavis and a Goodyear on the way to them in order to get a new tire whenever I have a flat. Austin and other servicemembers have been very kind, understanding, and helpful on the several occasions I have been to the business. The price is also excellent and clear-cut. Most recently, I got very lucky and showed up a couple of hours before closing trying to get a new tire, and they were able to accomodate me; the day before a major holiday no less. AND they were able to do a state inspection when I asked. Money well spent, and I will continue to used their services in the future. read more

Beware. Friendly's may do good auto work, BUT, they will do unnecessary auto work for those who don't know better, and charge top dollar. My elderly, handicapped Mom brought her car in for inspection. Her car has less than 12k miles. They told her the rear brakes were paper thin and needed replacing. They charged almost $400.000. Now I've been around cars and doing repairs my entire life. It's impossible to need rear brakes at that low mileage. Friendly's robbed an unsuspecting senior. I have other first hand experience with Friendly's attempting to do unnecessary exhaust, brake, and transmission repairs that other HONEST shops have proved unnecessary. Unless you know better and can challenge their recommendations, Please Stay Away!!! read more

They diagnose the problem and fit me in in a reasonable time. I needed some bodywork recently and they were able to do that too. I have been bringing my and my family's cars here for several years now. I have always found them professional and friendly. I believe them to be honest and I trust them. It took a long time to find a place I feel that way about so would definitely recommend them. They give a fair price quote and explain the problems before starting the work and thats what they charge at the end. If something unexpected happens they call first before going ahead. They get the work done relatively quickly and the cars are always in good shape when I pick them up. There are times I've brought in a car I thought was going to need expensive repair and been told by them no, you just need this simpler thing. Auto repair in general is expensive so I'm not going to say they're cheap. But they're pricing is fair, work and expertise excellent and they don't try to puff up charges. read more

I recently moved to LB. My neighbor recommended Friendly's Auto. I am very happy that I used them. They are very professional and polite. They have done my inspection, flat tire and another time replaced windshield wipers front & back. Today I went in because my air conditioner wasn't working. They took their time checking everything and gave me an estimate for the job. I wasn't able to leave my car to do the job today. I was very grateful they didn't charge me for the time they took to evaluate the problem. I will be taking car back to get what it needs done. They also have a nice clean waiting area. read more

Dropped off my car Wednesday morning around 8:30 for an inspection. When I was checking in, they asked if I also needed help installing my new plates. After leaving it there for an hour, it was ready to be picked up. They did a great job on the plates, they super friendly, and very quick. I've taken my 2005 Mercury Mariner to Friendly's numerous times now. Rob and Austin always take good care of me, friendly and welcoming. They give honest prices, fair rates and they do great work. Everyone at Friendly seems to be true to the shop's name. And the reception area is nicely appointed. This shop is conveniently located near the Long Beach Bridge in Long Beach. We've brought our car to Friendly once, last week, and they fixed our car's transmission computer within the day, when two other shops had proposed replacing our entire transmission for four times the price that Friendly charged us. Pat at Friendly explained both to me in person and to my spouse over the phone what they'd found and done with the car. Our car runs great now. So Friendly seems honest, capable, and more affordable than the competition. For that alone, we would bring our car back to them for any future work. As if that weren't enough, Friendly also went way above and beyond when we were supposed to be picking the car up, but there was a tropical storm and flooding streets (Fri 6/7/2013). Pat sent a kindly mechanic (Junior) to pick me up in the downpour, and when the streets became nearly impassable, Junior calmly gave me an impromptu lesson in driving safely in water. I decided to leave my car in their shop overnight after all so I wouldn't have to navigate the flooded streets on my own, and when Pat heard that I'd be walking home and picking up my child from day care on the way, possibly wading through water, he let one of his mechanics (Al) finish early and had him drive me to my child's day care and then home. I guess it sounds like a crazy story, but basically they acted selflessly at every opportunity, and rarely in my life have I been treated so royally as by Friendly staff. One of the best auto shop to get your car fix. These guys are amazing and reliable. I took my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder the other day because it was making a loud noise when I made a sharp right turn. Absolutely horrendous experience here today. Hours are posted as open on Saturday from 8:00am to 2:00pm, I pulled in a little bit before noon. I had to seek out one of the non "friendly" guys hanging out in the shop and they were like "um yeah we're closed". I was willing to leave my car there for a few days for them to take a look at it but they wanted no part of it. Couldn't have been ruder, looked at me like I had 10 heads for pulling a CAR into an OPEN auto body shop on a Saturday morning. Took my business elsewhere and will NEVER return....I never take the time for reviews typically but this guy with long greasy hair and stupid ear buds was such a d-bag I felt obligated. Take it easy there Madonna. Also they seem to attract similar d-bag clients, I was literally getting back in my car after all of 15 seconds and some loser was all over me about getting my car out his way. Meanwhile he didn't even pull in a few more feet so i wasn't blocking the driveway. Relax bro, relax. STAY AWAY from this dump!! read more

I called one morning with low tire pressure and asked if someone could look at it. I was told yes and when to come in. Not only did was I greeted with a smile, but my dog was also welcomed. She tends to be people shy but the guy behind the desk happened to have brought out dog biscuits and gave her the treats all why being super friendly and patient. My car was taken right in and upon fixing the tire I was told I needed and oil change (I was in fact due). I offered to bring my car back another day as to not inconvenience anyone but they said it was not a problem and within 20 minutes it was done. I paid a fair price for excellent customer service and great quality work. My pup and I greatly appreciate these guys! read more

Amazing auto body shop! I called because i needed my windshield washer fluid hose fixed and my tires looked at before a long drive and they were so happy to help and accommodate me! They had me come in the next day (i called late the day before) and had my problem resolved the same day i brought my car in! I bought a car battery at this place, and one year later, the battery died. Batteries are supposed to last at least 5 years! Then I went in to have the car inspected, they pulled off a wheel, and then apparently forgot to put the lock for the wheel lugs back in my car! The next day, I found the lug key placed on the door handle outside the car! They didn't even call me to let me know they had the key and were returning it to me! I can't trust the service I got here, I'm worried that the wheel may not have even been put on right it they're in such a hurry that they forgot to put back the wheel key. And even though they replaced the battery under warranty, how do I know the battery's any good? It could die just like the first one! I would never go back there! read more
