Will preface this review with the fact that I never got to the food. Heard great things about this place. Went in tonight at 5:30pm. Directly next to the hostess stand was a cart with 2 buckets of bleach. Bleck!! Don't want to see it or smell it in a restaurant. What were they doing with it??...Don't want to know. Then we check for seats at the bar and hostess indicates it's full, we should put our name in for a table. We do so, but keep our eyes open for bar seats because we prefer it. We wait about 15 mins while we watch multiple others come in and check the bar and then ask to be added to the list. A couple of older women indicate they don't want a table and will wait for the bar. They then ask us if we are waiting for the bar and we indicate we will take anything that comes up first. When 2 seats open up, my husband let's the hostess know we would like the seats. She indicated the women were waiting and gives them the seats. Really? So, we waited X amount longer and just because we put in for a table, we were ineligible to go first for the bar seats? Not cool. And to the women who knew we were waiting and still took the seats, your complete disrespect will bite you in the ass someday. We walked out. Too many places to go to deal with inexperienced staff and rude customers. Not on our list of places to return to. read more

This place used to be absolutely fantastic. I was addicted to coming here. I have now tried 8-10x after covid and have been increasingly disappointed. They always had freshest ingredients however now it tastes like everything is frozen. The chicken wings (my favorite) are a bit slimy, the turkey sandwich was served with avocados that were hard as a rock and still had the peal on them! The salad was a few days old and wilted and the Cole slaw was at least 4-5 days old and inedible. Also the salmon used to be fresh but its cooked frozen now. I really hope this place rebounds back to its former glory as it once used to be the best meal in town and my go to destination for all friends and family. read more

Average food at best. Came here a while ago, and the meat was char-grilled - like a good back yard BBQ. Pretty solid burger and worth coming back for. Just came back. Disappointed. Cold bun that was dry and kinda fell apart. Sad, limp and warm-ish fries. Most of all, the meat was just grilled - like everywhere else. Burger, fries, soda, tax and tip got me to $19 for a really average meal. I should just stick with 5 Guys or something. Better meal for around $10. The food deserves 2 stars, but the service was great - attentive and friendly. So, add a star for that. read more

Definitely get a burger -- they're made with short rib and really good. One of the few options in the area to get dinner past 9 p.m. that isn't fast food. Staff is very friendly. If there's not a hostess working, they'll have a "seat yourself" sign at the front and in some case you may need to let waitstaff know you're there if that's the case. read more

Okay, I broke my 3 month rule with this place because it's a mile from my house. I had the appetizer sampler with chicken fingers, potatoes skins and crab cake, he had the BBQ bacon burger, and the boy had chicken fingers. The food is standard pub fair and really pretty solid for only being open a week or so. What makes it is the management and the service. A very tight crew! Food came out hot, servers are friendly and attentive, and the manager is always present. Even to deal with crazy situations like mine which includes a panic attack seeing an incoming thunderstorm. In 3 months, this place will be a gem if they keep the severs and management. read more

Went to Friendly Red's Tavern for a party in their new Function Hall. Food was great, drinks delicious, and hall is very nice. Holds 6o? people without being crowded. Nice large round tables and comfy chairs. The bartender April took good care of us all. Being the 1st function I thought everything went really smooth. Think this will be a good spot for anyone looking for a place to have a gathering with great food and drinks. read more

Staff was very friendly, ambiance was nice and food quality was above average (but not exceptional) Prices were a bit inflated. $12 for a chicken sandwich with minimally sized chicken is a bit excessive. I also attempted to get a side salad in place of the sides that they offered with the meal (I didn't want the carbs) and was told they would have to charge me the full $5 for the side salad. I understand that it was my choice not to get the sides, but at the same time there is no way that was a $5 side salad, especially when I was paying an inflated price for my "chicken" sandwich without a side.....I would suggest offering customers the option of selecting a side salad in place of the side for an up charge of a $2-$3. While it may not seem like much, the dollar or two doesn't kill your bottom line (especially when you know the customer already forfeited getting the regular side that comes with the meal) and in the end you will have a happy customer as opposed to one who felt like they just got fleeced for a $20 lunch that consisted of a decent chicken sandwich and a small side salad.....especially when McDonald's offers a pretty decent artisan chicken sandwich down the road for less than $8 read more

There is nothing special about this place that would get me to go back. We went to dinner tonight and between the two of us we got the macaroni and cheese over fried chicken, asian style chicken wings, and a side of seasoned fries. The asian style chicken wings were good. Not great, not bad, just good. The seasoned fries tasted like they had no season. Some of them may even have tasted undercooked, not all just a couple. The macaroni and cheese over friend chicken tasted like overcooked pasta with a little cream over a frozen chicken fingers that were fried. The frozen chicken finger was the best part. A lot of the macaroni was mushy and it definitely was not cheesy. Very bland. The prices were more affordable then most. The rewards program sounds like something I would have signed up for except by the time the bill came we both agreed we would not be going back so whats the point? The atmosphere.. someone already said it seems like a pizza joint and I completely agree. The outside is really nice if only it had a better view. Our service was wonderful. Very attentive and food came out hot and within a reasonable time. Not sure if the owner reads this or not... if I were them I would revamp the menu (seems like people already had the same issues with bland food), had live musics and advertise it around town, maybe change the decor or define more the theme you are going with, ?trivia nights, etc. read more

We've had two meals there and was unimpressed. We ate inside both times. The first time we didn't know any better and it was so crowded and loud we couldn't talk to each other. I can't remember what I ordered, but my son ordered a steak cooked medium. The chef came out to see how the food was and when we told him that the steak was over cooked, he just smiled and walked on. I swear he couldn't hear us! The second time we went it was pretty empty so we sat inside again. It was still noisy, but at least we could hear each other. Again, can't remember what I ate. If you go to a place two times and can't remember what you ate, the food must be marginal at best. As other reviews have stated, going outside for drinks seems to be the way to go. Next time I'll try ordering appetizers and drinks. Hopefully they'll be able to figure out a way to quiet the noise by putting down some rugs and hangings on the wall to absorb the sound. read more

Very disappointed in this "tavern" in town. So noisy despite claims they have addressed this problem. Felt like we were in a refinished basement of a home. Unable to try patio in February. Meatball app had too much thyme to taste like meatballs. Also bread too soggy with the sauce over them. Sauce was good. Charged extra for tomato slices on a $12 burger!! Good service but did not feel like a tavern with tile on floor, walls and bar. Awkward space! May try patio for drinks in good weather but not your neighborhood hangout! read more

The food is pretty standard pub fare which is fine, but OMG! This place is the loudest restaurant I've even been in! You cannot hear yourself if you sit inside. This is my third time here in the past month and overall have had great experiences. Food is great, cocktails are awesome and live music on Thursday nights! So glad that Windham has a cool, casual place to come eat and enjoy a few drinks after work. My server, Jill was very sweet and accommodating. Pros: Great service! Our waitress was amazing! The lobster crocks, salmon, Caesar salad, and chicken caprese sandwich were delicious, 5 stars! .. Suggestions: The Mac and cheese was bland, could use extra cheeses to pump up the flavor. It seemed to just be just velveta or a mild cheddar. Would recommend adding a sharp cheddar, American or some Parmesan to enhance it. Also, it's very loud due to the slate floors and low ceilings. Would sit outside next time. read more

Really want this place to make it, but... It's an OK place if you go by yourself, but don't plan on going with someone if you want to actually have a conversation. The noise is unbearable. There is nothing inside to dampen the noise -- a major snafu. The food was average at best and it took 40 minutes to get it to our table. Bzzzt. People were complaining about their food all around us. Many suggest eating outside as the needed prescription. I wonder how that will work out in December. Sadly, I doubt they'll still be there by then. Come on Windham -- can't we do better than this? Red's is a welcome addition to Windham where you can sit outside and drink a well-made cocktail. The patio seating provides a great environment to enjoy a casual pub style meal. I was impressed with the attentive, friendly, and efficient service. The salads we tried, especially the stacked tomato, were fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed the grilled chicken tenders as well. The food was good though not spectacular. The highlight the evening was the fine cocktails including the berry smash--not too sweet with a lot of berry flavor. I went here yesterday, it was a Sunday noontime. I pulled in parking lot with original intentions of going to Capri next door for a good salad. I saw this place and decided to try instead. I should have stuck with going to Capri. I called Reds from parking lot and ordered the Asian grilled chicken salad. I had also seen a chicken caprese sandwich on menu so I added that. The hostess said that will be $30.52. I thought Wow! That's seems like a little pricey. She gave me my takeout. When I got to my destination I opened bag, no napkins or plastic silverware for my salad and the I opened the big takeout container to find a dingy little salad with a couple of small chunks of chicken. VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR $15.00. I looked like the salad was lost in this container. The caprese sandwich was good and came with sweet potato fries, those were very good. That was $12.00. Not sure that I will be trying it for a second time. I grew up in business and this place was nothing fancy or gourmet but definitely overpriced. read more

Went to Red's for the first time for dinner with some freinds. I had the fried chicken with fries and it was delicious. Others at the table had hamburgers, chicken with pasta, lobster roll and steak. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Only downside was the noise factor. Can't carry on a conversation without screaming. Owner came over and said that he will be fixing that shortly with soundproofing. That will make a big difference. I will go back and try to eat on the patio. read more

The noise level inside is so bad that even the waitress could not hear me. The cave like rectangular room has awful acoustics where sound reverberates to the threshold of pain. It wouldn't surprise me if the noise level exceeds OHSHA compliance that would call for hearing protection. The "average" rating on noise is grossly wrong. Food we had outside and service, at the end of the summer was just average. We won't go back. If it wasn't for a lake of restaurants in Windham, I don't see how they would survive. read more

Just ordered takeout from here with my boyfriend and we are both unhappy with what we received. My steak tip salad was more like a couple pieces of wilted lettuce with grape tomatoes, rotten avocados, and almost as much red onion as there was lettuce. The cheese was melted into a big clump and the steak I ordered to be medium well was dry and we'll done. My boyfriend ordered a burger and the bun tasted stale and they forgot to put barbecue sauce on it. We had been here a couple times when it first opened and loved everything we ordered. Unfortunately we cannot say the same for this $30.00 meal. I could only take a coupke bits and had to throw it away. We will not be going here again. read more

The only reason this is not receiving zero stars is because the service and outdoor seating is great. Oh, they do have good sangria. Other than that, I will never go again. I've given this restaurant multiple chances because it is local, but they've failed me every time. The lack of seasoning and overcooked food is a disappointment. I do have to say that my husband and boys love their buffalo mac and cheese, so I guess that is a positive. This last chance I gave them, my steak was ordered medium rare and was delivered to me with zero seasoning (trust me...) and well done. I sent it back and asked for the Thai chicken lettuce wraps. Only good thing I can say about this, the chicken was cooked. The lettuce wraps were extremely small (couldn't fit anything in them) and wilted. The shredded carrots were carrots from a bag that were dried out. The cabbage was the same. The dipping sauce was extremely salty. The brussel sprouts as a side were hard a rock, not cooked. I had high hopes when they first opened, giving them multiple chances. This week was my last chance. Such a shame. read more

Excellent service, waiter was very attentive. However, overpriced food was mediocre, which then turned into a terrible night. Got sick as a dog afterwards into next day from their food. My husband ssid he felt like throwing up. What did I order? Potatoe skins with broccoli. Came out Cold in the middle. Crab cake sandwich was a soggy mess. Most likely not heated enough. Had a side of sweet potatoe fries/edges, which cost extra. I counted 6 pieces in the plate. Most likely a blessing there wasn't more food, I would have been sicker. Went by many times and saw it was fairly crowded. Decided to try and were quite pleased. Sat outside on the patio and had great service from Jaclyn. I ordered the mac and cheese with boneless fried chicken and it was out standing. My stepson had the Applewood burger and it was also great. It had bacon lettuce tomato onions bbq sauce pickle and sharp cheddar cheese on it. Cooked to perfection and too large to hold in your hand. My wife had lettuce wraps with chicken assorted veggies and wasabi sauce and was quite tasty. Good selection of wine and beer. Will definitely go back. read more
