Between me working and going to school and Dary going on vacation, our schedules didn't overlap. When the day came I was so excited. Her other reviews were all positive and the pictures looked great. Her shop is upstairs in a men's clothing store, which I thought would be shady and dingy but the man in the store told me where to go and it didn't give me a bad vibe at all. Once you enter the store it's clear what everyone means about going upstairs. I was seen at the time of my appointment and we got started right away. Her and her husband are so sweet and made me feel comfortable in their space. We watched tv while I was getting my nails done and we chatted about the show, their sons, where I work, etc. Dary took her time but I didn't feel like she was dragging on. At the end of the appointment I paid (she does take card) and I said thank you and left. Definitely a great spot but make sure to make your appointment in advance.

The system in place does not work well for the price $50 for gel pedicure absolutely my second trip I had to ask her to to work on the skin. I am unable to do my own. I would much rather pay for a pedicure than the $50 co-pay to go to a podiatrist. I'm truly disappointed because I the boutique nail is a little cramped and you do have climb stairs don't arrive early because the chair outside the door is very uncomfortable to sit in! on the first floor they're very friendly they greet you as you come in not connected with the nail salon ! I love to shop small I patronize small businesses as much as humanly possible and avoid the big boxes and the the women that talk about their native tongue. I'm not about to go somewhere and use a translator to know what they're saying that's a terrible practice.

Reserving an appointment online was really easy; I had Katie do my manicures. The first time I came in was a 15 minute wait even though I had an appointment & it seems like the more you're a regular, the more you get quickly seated. They offer some beverages (coffee, tea, coke, diet coke, bottled water) during your visit as well. I appreciated the quiet and ability to zone out with headphones or keep a conversation with the tech if you wanted to. They also have a punch card and the freebie is a free paraffin wax if you keep visiting. I appreciated how gentle Katie was in removing gelx to minimize damage to my nails as some other places file way too much. My last visit recently, I was relaxing a bit and felt my cuticle sting a bit. Typically I am good keeping up w the cuticle care at home(!), yet I held my hand up to notice and was a bit disappointed Katie gave a quick "sorry" but let it be and did not bother to dress it or put gauze, let alone her acknowledging the error from the jump would have gone over far better. Some time went on and I moved my hand w her shaping my cuticles to prevent that error from happening again and she told me curtly twice to not do that. The vibe was off a bit from that point and I was more than happy to go to my pedicure. That woman, Jenny I believe, was kind the times I had her. Usually once I find a nail place I like to remain there but I may search on a bit more and come back go Luxie later!

My nails were in terrible condition and quite a few of them were broken and needed to be replaced. Thank goodness my friend recommended me this place so I could get beautiful nails. The shop is tucked away on a busy street in Lakewood and it's not very big so make sure you call ahead for an appointment. I got what's called the buildable gel manicure that doesn't require you to remove the gel polish after each visit. This allows for your nails to remain healthy and not have to go through the removing process. I absolutely love my nails and my technician did an amazing job. I definitely look forward to coming back again. My pedicure was outstanding and I got hot stones as well as nice hot towels on my legs. Highly recommend anyone looking for a luxurious experience.

The tech, who I'm assuming is the owner or at least the manager was very nice and did a fantastic job. Fast forward to 3 days later and 5 nails have cracks in the tips. I called and let the person who answered know. She asked when I wanted to come in to fix them? She didn't sound surprised, she wasn't apologetic, nothing. I wasn't extra hard on my nails I did normal every day stuff I do. Because Gel X is a softer tip I can understand if a tip was too narrow for my nail bed and it cracked from that but 5 nails?! I told her I would be there first thing in the morning when they opened. I got to the salon when it opened. The man was very nice and did a great job replacing the 5 nails. About 30 minutes later the lady who originally did my nails came in. After the man was done she asked him a question about my nails. Even though it wasn't in English I knew because he shook his hair and pointed to the top of his nail. He repeated himself a couple times and kept pointing to his finger so I can only assume he was reiterating that my nails were cracked. The station I was told to sit at when I had to go back was dirty from the day before. Clipped tips were all over the floor, the towel from the day before was on the station with clippings and acrylic drops. The tools from both visits were not clean and rusty. The nail brushes to wash your nails were all first and has that reddish algae that builds up at the base. I gave 2 stars because the man to redid my nails was very nice! I will definitely not be going back to that salon.
