I have been going here for a while to get my crv serviced, and usually it's been pretty easy although they overcharge for parts. I went in this summer to fix my exhaust, get an oil change, tire rotation, and a full detailing. The exhaust, oil change, and tire rotation went fine. I get in the car after the detailing and there is still dirt throughout the car. I analyze it further and there is still dirt on the outside of the car that they didn't get out and one off the vents inside the car was cracked and off the track. I call to let them know as soon as I got home and was told by the rude girl there was nothing she could do and to call back. I called the next day and a different girl said to bring it in at my earliest convenience. I brought it in and one of the gentlemen looked at it and scheduled me for an appointment to come back for a detailing and he would escalate the vent issue to his manager. I bring it back a few days later to get it redetailed. I didn't hear from anyone all day so I called at about 3pm and they said it would be done in about an hour. I get a call to pick up the car and I was told the vent is not their fault and I'm just trying to get them to replace something they didn't do. After being told I was just trying to essentially steal money from them I went to pick my car up. Looking at the car the same spots were on the outside of the car and there was a film covering the windshield. Not only did I spend a lot of money here this visit but I was insulted by the false accusations and didn't even get my car cleaned properly. Detailing a car means making it showroom ready. This was far from it. I will never go back there again. They should change their name to unfriendly Honda. read more

As a Follow up..... The Dealer Principal, Mr. Erik Kahn, scheduled a meeting between him, me, my office manager and his assistant. The meeting was surprising in many ways. Mr. Kahn felt he did not have to address my concerns/the issues in the original review and stated that we have the vehicles, what is the problem. My office manager tried explaining to him the difficulties we had with the staff both at Friendly Honda and Friendly Ford. While speaking he constantly interrupted her and would not let her finish a thought. I spoke up and told him I thought that was very rude and unprofessional of him. He said he felt there was no reason to further discuss as we had the vehicles. My office manager spoke up and said she felt there was an interoffice issue (see original review) that should be dealt with accordingly. At which time he stood up (we were all sitting close together at a round table) and starting banging on the table while screaming at my office manager "You're stirring the pot, you're stirring the pot!" I literally had to stand up and step in between my office manager and Mr. Kahn as he was about three inches from her face when he was screaming at her and banging the table. What is most sad is his assistant, Grace, was sitting at the table when all of this happened and she sat there stone faced with no reaction whatsoever. What is sad about that is this obviously isn't the first time she has seen him react/act like that towards a customer or an employee. After that, we stood up and stated it was time for us to leave as we were not going to be treated like that. We were paying customers that bought not one but three vehicles. It is atrocious that any owner of a business would act that way towards a customer. I was embarrassed for him. From my office managers perspective, if she were alone in that meeting, she would feel highly threatened and probably have made a public report. I hope as a future purchaser of a vehicle from Friendly Honda or Friendly Ford, reading this you would take this seriously and into consideration. I also would recommend NOT having a meeting with Mr. Kahn unless you want him in your face screaming at you if you make a complaint!!! read more

Test drove a Nissan Cube last year and was assigned Bob Schweizer as a sales consultant. Everything was going well, and I had decided to put cash down on the car because I was sick of others buying out from underneath me. In all honesty, I had made the mistake of acting too soon. The car had mechanical issues, such as pulling to the right and needing a windshield replaced. This was all things they had failed to mention to me when testing it out. Who needs to know your product when you can just throw keys at prospective buyers? After giving it a day or two of extra thought, I decided to pull the plug and get my money back. Here's where it gets spicy: It took weeks to wrestle $100 back from Friendly Honda. Several phone calls, hoops to jump through, and stress throughout the whole process. My parents called them and Bob dug his heels in, and he so wonderfully said, "Your son is an adult, why doesn't be talk to me?" And that's the sign of bush-league service, folks. The finance guy came in and tried to sell me on a more expensive warranty, and expressed that I wouldn't even notice the higher payment when spread out enough years. I'd like to see the last time that guy worked an hourly wage job to save up for a car, so that he might recognize the sheer arrogance of that attitude. Remember, just because you give a firm handshake and a smile doesn't mean you're able to relate to a customer. We could go into an impassioned rant about customer service, but you get the point. The money finally came back, I went elsewhere, and I couldn't be happier. Like they say in business "any feedback is good feedback", so I sure hope that Friendly Honda shapes up their act so that deplorable, arrogant, and downright poor service doesn't become a habit. Otherwise, the only redeeming quality they have is the complimentary drinks cooler and comfy chairs to wait in. My review ranks in at 0 stars, but those creature comforts bump it up to a 1. So pop open a soda, kick back as they give you the 'ol song and dance of basic car salesmanship, and try to make it through there without losing your mind. read more

If you are reading this, I would assume that as a customer you value the integrity of the dealership in which you wish to buy. It is well known to be skeptical of dealerships and sales people. Friendly Honda confirmed that notion for me when the salesman deceived me of quite a few things. I wont bother you with the list, just know that it was not appreciated, and part of me seems to think that it was because I was a female. I shopped for a certified Honda because for all my life I have heard how reliable Honda's are. What a load of crap that has been! I purchased a car from friendly that EATS oil. I am sure friendly Honda and all of their potential customers would appreciate knowing that not only did I pay my car payment today, but I also made a bulk purchase of oil so I can continuously add oil every time I fill up my tank! I don't see the sense in acting polite on these review anymore, I have been dealing directly with the GM since I bought this problem filled car. We are apparently waiting for the Honda rep to contact us, but was told he was sick. Not sure how that effects me, id assume there are other Honda reps in the world. What I am asking is not too complicated or hard to understand. I want a reliable car, I paid friendly Honda $15,500. Please Michael, or anyone else that reads this review, tell me why I should be dealing with a car that has an excessive oil consumption problem, better yet, why did you sell it to me? read more

Just walked out of the service center without my repair. I booked my appointment this online through friendlyhonda.net when I arrived this morning there was no record of my appointment. After the employee searched for my info for a couple minutes I told him I'd made the appointment online and he said sometimes that system doesn't work. He started to input my information and I ask about the loaner I scheduled when I booked the appointment. He said I'd have received a confirmation if something was available. I thought when I received the email confirming my appointment with loan that would suffice. As I had to be at work in fifteen minutes I had to leave without my service completed. I think I'll be using Curry Honda from now on. read more

I went to friendly to inquire about a 2016 crv that was advertised online. I had to take my car for a recall upgrade, so I decided to test drive it. Justin in sales greeted me, and I went for the test drive. The 1 year old car was literally filthy inside. The seats were stained throughout and it stunk like an old sneaker inside; mind you, the asking price was $23,300! Throughout my test drive, I could smell burn, and a loud ticking noise from under the hood. I stopped the car, opened the hood, and the smell of burn was so prominent. I drove the crv right back to the dealer and told Justin about the smell, and the disgusting stained seats. I asked if the car could be cleaned up inside better so it could be more presentable, and if he could tell me the reason for the burn smell. He told me that the car was a showroom loaner that was used for customers while their cars were being repaired due to recalls, and that his team had already cleaned it. He said I should be happy with the price since it was only a year old. I left, and since then, I have not received a follow up call to ask about my experience either, so I guess they really don't care. How can they attempt to sell a car, at that price, knowing that it was used by literally 100's of customers as a loaner car, and was that filthy and dirty? I purchased SEVERAL cars through Friendly in the past, through Bob Schweitzer, who has since retired, and in fact, I have a leased Accord presently. Prior to this, I always had a good experience, but I will never purchase anything else from Friendly. They have lost all of their pride and dignity, and are only concerned with making a buck. 2016 Honda Pilot started bucking at 40,000 miles. We brought it in to Friendly, and they almost tripped over themselves telling us that our warranty expired at 36,000 miles, so we'd have to pay the hourly rate. Seems unusual that a brand new car would have issues with this amount of miles. You would think the dealer would WANT to help us, to help the brand. Guess not.... read more

I have bought several cars from friendly Honda, and recommended to one of our friends to buy a Honda from friendly'. Friendly promised that we would receive $100. 00 if they would buy a car from friendly. Our friend bought a car but we never received our bonus from friendly. Friendly has been notified several times and they promised a check would be sent right away. After waiting several months, no check has been issued. I believe that the name should be changed to UNFRIENDLY HONDA. Hence, I will never buy a car from them and I will tell others to stay away from friendly Honda as well. read more

I can't say enough good things about Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie, New York. My daughter, a student at SUNY New Paltz, had engine trouble with her 2013 Honda CRV. Friendly Honda helped my daughter, and us, with this very stressful situation. They repaired the vehicle and submitted all warranty documents. Scott Lockard, the service representative assigned to our vehicle, was knowledgeable, professional and kept us well-informed every step of the way. Ironically, when we recently visited our daughter, our Honda Fit battery died. After a jump from AAA, we took the car directly over to Friendly Honda. Again, they saved the day not only replacing the battery that same day, but also replacing a recently recalled airbag. When you are unfamiliar with an area, it means so much to find a dealership that is trust-worthy and reliable. I've had two excellent experiences with Friendly Honda. First I arrived a few weeks ago to get my 2018 Honda CRV looked at for a part that needed to be ordered. Upon exiting my vehicle in their bay, one of their reps noticed a screw sitting on my tire and he advised me. After my car was examined for the order, l inquired about the screw, he told me that it was simply wedged between my treads and not a puncture. I was impressed with their honesty. Yesterday, l arrived to have the part installed, they called me in to inform me that my car had been backed into while it was being repaired. l couldn't really see much or any damage, especially since my auto was dirty. They issued me a courtesy car so they could bring me vehicle to their body shop. I arrived back today to pickup my vehicle, all clean and looking good. One again their honesty went a long way in my book, especially in todays world were the moral compass continues to drop. I'm a fan friendly Honda. read more

I don't care what dealership I buy it from but the sale will go to the lowest price, and no hidden fees. Friendly gave me a quote in writing, and I took that to 4 more dealerships from north Jersey to the Hudson Valley and none would beat their price. Recently returned to Honda for our first oil change after purchasing a new car in January. Having had an unenjoyably looong visit for a simple oil change, I decided that I must write a review. We had an poor experience with the initial purchase and I figured I'd let Honda know that when I received the email survey. The salesperson had told me how much they rely on these surveys to get their annual service and sales awards. What a coincidence that our survey never came. When we arrived to close out our paperwork and pick up the car, our original salesperson was not available(family emergency). Ok, I can understand that...but, sitting in the show room for 2+ hours until someone could be found to help us...unreasonable. Not knowing where the 2nd key to the vehicle was...unacceptable. Fast forward...service experience. Made a service appointment for a simple oil change weeks in advance. Requested, at the time, a courtesy car wash. Again...sat there for a long time. How long does an oil change take? By the time the service department completed the oil change, no one could be found in the 'car detailing' area. Honestly, the only reason I came for the service was for the courtesy car wash. I, truly, hate having to relearn lessons. I should have known better than to go to the dealer for service. Their rates are very high and the service is poor. I cannot avoid having to show up to purchase the vehicle but I can certainly steer very clear of the dealership otherwise. Thank you for refreshing my memory on why I chose to go anywhere but the dealership for service. read more

I bought my certified pre-owned from Honda and had the best experience. Everyone from the saleswoman to the finance specialist were nothing but polite and helpful. However, I since then have had the worst experience with the service department. About a year after purchase, and a year ago from now, I brought my car in to be detailed there to maintain the vehicles appearance (nothing mechanical) to be picked up later that night after hours. I returned to my vehicle with the battery dead. I was left stranded but luckily someone was around to help jump the car and the computer codes were all going off on the screen. My battery, that I've never had trouble with, had been completely drained.I called the next day and Jessica was super apologetic and told me to bring it in and they would take care of it. However, when I brought it in the remainder of the service team was not helpful and simply told me it "wasn't their problem." I had my battery replaced there because it needed to be done. However, if my car was working when I dropped it off, was left stranded, and then stopped working- it should be their problem. The following day I wrote Jessica an email and she did apologize again and said if I chose to return she would offer a "quality control inspection," vacuum, and car wash. Fair enough, what more can you do at that point? I decided to give it another shot and that one bad experience wasn't a fair judgement. I returned to get my brakes changed because they were making a terrible noise, and while I was there, get an oil and an inspection because they were both due. I get a quote for new rotors and pads and told them to hold off but to continue with the oil change. After calling around, the brake quote was double other local garages and over $100 more than Curry Honda. I tried to call back throughout the day multiple times. I was left on hold for minimum 15 minutes each time. I finally got a hold of them and told them I would be picking up my car. When my brother and mom picked up my car (FYI, there was no vacuum, car wash, or quality control inspection done) there was a charge for an oil change AND A FAILED INSPECTION. Why would they try to inspect the car when they hadn't changed the brakes and were clearly bad? The car was brought in to fix the brakes so I could pass inspection. When I didn't need the brakes, clearly the inspection was not needed. This is clearly common sense and I cannot believe this was an oversight because they hadn't even removed my prior sticker which is what happens when you fail inspection so they charged me for an inspection that wasn't performed. I am forced to believe this was done in spite. It's not an issue of the $20 for the inspection. It's an issue of being a slimy business. Again, I called and expressed my concerns and was told AGAIN it "wasn't their problem." I would like to believe in them, as I believed in the honesty and consideration of the sales department. However, I cannot bring my car to a place that has been beyond inconsiderate and come up short in so many ways. I can't trust them and have seen their poor intentions. Unfortunately, after my family purchased the past 8 vehicles from Friendly, I do not believe I will be returning for my next car. read more

I purchased 2017 civic 5-21-2018 it was new leftover .Purchased so I could let my terminally paralized son have my 2014 accord for transportation to medical appointments He died approximately month later when I picked up car it had not been properly prepped bugs were in trunk top and in window rubber .I Was not up to getting car back there I live in ct and with fall I had day of purchase and sons death I did not call until July 142014 to have car cleaned .If I tried other than with garden hose to get the bugs out of rubber that were stuck there from car being out under trees for year at dealership I might have damaged the rubber .Now the company knows that the car was not properly prepped because even though I could not get back there due to my fall and sons death I sent emails to them and have proof of the notice of my discontent with everything about the purchase .I guess the car sat unsold for a year because nobody need any bugs Myrnie Hoanzl very poor rate read more

The purchasing experience was fantastic and we could not have asked for a better sales person.The customer service at the service department at Honda has gone down since we first purchased our family's Hondas in 2007. The service department has left a lot to be desired in the last 2 years. We always schedule our maintenance (including oil changes) and will leave the vehicle for the day. We typically request that the cars be ready by the time we leave work to be picked up (~5PM). Our cars have not been ready by the requested times during the last few instances and there have been additional charges added to the service invoices with our initial approvals (did not address in this review). By the 3rd instance, we finally voice our concerns about our vehicles not being ready by the requested time only to be told by the service manager that it does not matter what time you drop off the car. The manager told us that "someone" should have explained the policy to us and that you have to specifically request that ALL of your services be done by a specific time in order for them to "maybe" meet the request. The manager also emphasized that walk ins will be accommodated first over the appointment makers. The electronic system they use to schedule services will estimate your service which will provide a time frame for the services to be completed and that will allow the service department to wait until that time before your car has to be picked up to perform the service. For example, if your service will only take an hour and you requested your car be done by 5PM. This allows the service department to wait until 4PM to actually bring in your car and conduct the service. So if there are additional services this could potentially extend the service beyond the requested time. For families and individuals that heavily rely on 1 vehicle this is absolutely not acceptable. We have had to make special arrangements to get to and from work because our vehicles have had to be kept longer for our last couple of services. These situations have caused major headaches and although, the Honda service department was quick to attempt the address the incident, we have ultimately decided that we will not be returning back to this dealer. read more

We have been going to Friendly Honda for many, many years and have typically not had many problems. However, over the last couple of visits the service has gone down tremendously. No surprise they haven't received an award in many years. We recently went to renew a lease and our sales person and the finance person were so incredibly rude and condescending to us. The way they spoke to use was as though they were speaking to children when all we did was simply ask to see the lump sum split out so we can see what all the fees were. Not an unreasonable request. If they didn't screw you with a fee for not bringing your lease back there, I would never get my honda from them again. I LOVE Honda's - but would choose another dealership in a heartbeat. It was even worse when we went to take delivery on the vehicle. The condescension and pretentiousness never ended. The worst customer service we've ever received there and anywhere else. I was only in Friendly Honda for an hour, but it was an hour I wish I had back. When I went to the showroom I was assigned a salesperson-- we'll call him "Hemingway's Nickname." He was pleasant enough at first, but when we went to his cubicle (which was decorated with thank you letters from chumps who were there before us, by the way) things went wrong. He told me what finance rate (non-negotiable because CRVs are such hot sellers-- despite the fact that the lot was overflowing with them) he was offering and then asked if I'd like him to calculate the monthly payment. He then left for 15 minutes. I don't know what he was doing for that time; perhaps he was yucking it up with the good old boy snake oil crew in the back; perhaps he went to a local restaurant for a meal; perhaps he took a nap. After he was gone for a few minutes, my wife suggested we just walk out, which, in retrospect, would have been the smart thing to do. However, I wanted to stay, just to hear what he had to say, and, when he came back, he had a printout with the numbers. I did not ask him where he was. In any case, I basically told him that I had seen all I needed to see. At this point, most salespeople would start to negotiate in order to try to make a sale. Not Hemingway's Nickname, though. He said he would talk to a manager before we left, but the manager was in the middle of a conversation. So that was that. I really wish I had my time back. And I really want to know why it took Hemingways Nickname 15 minutes to punch a few numbers into a computer program.
