She has the student work on theory, ear training, composition as well as learning new pieces and scales. Love her program and would recommend her instruction to anyone who wants to learn well. My son's piano skills have skyrocketed in just 2 months. Skype lessons were much better than I had expected. I was tentative at first because it felt like piano lessons should be live, but we purchased a good quality microphone and set up the laptop so she can see the student. Not only does she coordinate live recitals throughout the year, she holds group classes and professional testing which can be taken at a location near you. Last month, through Skype, we even participated in a special group lesson with her other students! Don't let distance stop you! This is much better than a YouTube video! Personally tailored, and also able to teach ADHD kids.

She makes sure to include music theory, and multiple opportunities to perform and participate in adjudication and also competitions, if students are interested. My child has progressed steadily with her as a teacher and enjoys working with her. I would absolutely recommend her for students of any age.

This is a review specific to an instructor at this location, Randall Ruback…read more We had a terrible experience with him. After 4 months of lessons I reached out to him to let him know of our timeline for ending lessons. We were stopping when my son started Jazz band at his middle school. The response I received had some information that was out of the blue - that my son was struggling with focus in lessons and playing over him and too loudly. I had never been told any of this feedback previously, so this was a surprise to me. I talked to my son about the feedback and his next lesson was good, however, Randy would not even come out of the room to see me. The next week we showed up for lessons and 10 minutes in I heard Randy yelling in the room, the door opened and Randy was kicking my son out of lessons and yelling at him about playing when he was talking and playing too loudly. He then yelled at him, that if he could listen they could finish the lesson. My son who was visible shaken went back in. I was frozen and didn't know what to do. The lesson finished, Randy came back out and I confronted him about his inappropriate reaction to the situation. I received an extremely defensive response about boundaries and after some back and forth was told if I was not okay with they way he spoke to my son, then he couldn't teach him anymore and we were done after next weeks lesson. We left the store at this point. I went home and sent him an email about the interaction and how it was inappropriate and that we would not be coming to the last lesson. I did not get any acknowledgement to how he was wrong to speak to a child in that way. I pointed out that if there was as big of a problem as he was claiming, he needed to talk to me in person after lessons about any issues rather than bottling his frustrations up and out-bursting like a toddler. He blamed the whole situation on my parenting abilities and told me what my child needed from a medical perspective. He is an emotionally insecure person who cannot control his temper or admit when he has done something inappropriate. We will never go back to him as an instructor and I suggest you avoid him at all costs.

It's never too late, or too early. Ms. Kibbe and her staff are unfailingly gracious, gifted at and clearly enjoy teaching music. Ms. Kibbe's sincere interest and delight in teaching is refreshing. She is a gifted musician, inspiring her students with demonstrations of beautiful violin and viola music, good humor and productive instruction. Her knowledge, teaching ability, sincere kindness, patience, insight and interest in each student are only surpassed by her love of children, commitment to their development and her ability to encourage and gift the joy of music. The new offices of Snohomish County Music School are fresh, clean, comfortable, safe, welcoming and conveniently located close to the Everett COSTCO. I am both impressed and very grateful to Snohomish County Music School and especially to Ms. Kibbe for the first of many enriching years of violin. Mark Potampa, M.D.

Not an old ladies house teaching old school tunes with no advancement, or a fancy place that charges you an arm and a leg for lessons. Mila teaches out of a super cute studio, she is so kind and patient and actually expresses a genuine interest in your learning. I really like that she has an educational university level background in Piano and Music and doesn't just teach you piano songs back to back. (Like the teachers I had growing up). She delves into music theory, history, composition, form, sight reading, ear training etc. it really makes the learning effective and long term. She continuously updates her curriculums to new techniques and keeps up with modern pieces. She even offers educational music group classes for toddlers while also ranging to adult students. She is very organized has great communication, not sure what the other review was talking about, they probably just didn't read her payment setup which is super easy and convenient. She stays up to date with all of her students and will always answer questions about her policies. I have learned so much from Mila, she is an incredible piano teacher.
