My boyfriend and his friends came here because of the good reviews, but the service we received was terrible. The employees were inattentive and ignored my boyfriend's friend when he told them which suit he wanted to purchase. We were told the suits would be tailored and shipped before the wedding we were attending, but when they arrived, none of them had been tailored.. Because of this, we had to rush to buy a suit somewhere else. When we returned the suit, the same worker took the item back but didn't process the refund. When we first checked in, Johnny, and aspiring high school senior, demonstrated the most professional courtesy I have experienced regardless of years of experience or age. He took his time measuring my 3 young boys, aged 12, 9 and 6 and me. Let me tell you, measuring my kids was no easy feat. Upon our return for our final fitting, Tyrone took care of us. He was a fashionable young man that my 12 year old said had the swag of an NBA player. His smooth tone and effort paid off. While some of our suits needed additional tailoring and substitutions, Tyrone assured us that all would be well. He ordered substitutions and we came back for our final, final fitting. All of the boys' suits were spot on and adjusted at the store for small measurements. My trousers had to be substituted out for a smaller size since I went on a Keto diet from our first measurements (I obviously gained weight since the last time I was measured and I wasn't about to have it that I gained 2" in my waist!). So, on my final, final fitting, Tyrone met me with his customary "I gotcha" and brought me my new, smaller waist trousers. They fit like a glove and gave me the added confidence that my weight loss paid off. I'd be remiss if I didn't give props to Joseph in tailoring. He was the master of the last minute adjustments, tailoring and fitting that put the ! in our suits. We're off to my daughter's sweet sixteen celebration looking sharp thanks in no part to Johnny, Joseph and especially Tyrone. I do have to give an update. The tuxedo "Rental" comes out to almost $300 and needs to be returned the next day. We partied pretty hard and coming here was the last thing we wanted to do the next day. In order to avoid fees it's a must! The biggest issue was the shoes. Usually it's the females on dance floor with no shoes but in our case all the groomsmen were shoeless. They all were in so much pain from the shoes. They are far from comfortable. TLDR: Friar tux nearly ruined wedding suits for three people (me included) & scammily communicated "you'll get a refund" when it never happened. If you see the asian worker (i think theres only one), walk out of the store rn. She was the source of alot of miscommunication. To be clear, this was for purchasing a full suit outright - not a rental. I came in with three friends who were all looking to buy suits for a wedding that was one week away, which we communicated upfront. The experience started fine - one associate (asian worker) in particular began taking our measurements and seemed attentive. But the moment another customer walked in, the energy completely shifted. We started getting ignored. My friends and I were asking questions about our orders and could barely get a straight answer. After the tailoring, I kept trying to follow up and clarify my order, only to find out they hadn't even taken it down correctly. I paid anyway, trusting the process. Then I learned something nobody ever told us: apparently, the pants come untailored, and you're expected to come back to the store after they ship to get them tailored. So my question is - why take our measurements in the first place? Why not send it to the store to get it tailored and then give us those pants (when you're taking our measurements anyway). And why wouldn't you communicate that process to three customers who just told you they have a wedding in a week? That timeline matters. None of this was explained to us. When the suit finally arrived, it was bad. The material felt incredibly cheap, the pants were untailored (which was never communicated to us) , and the whole thing just looked and felt like a costume. Granted, it was around $200 for the full set, so I wasn't expecting designer quality - but this was unwearable. I ended up buying a suit from Men's Wearhouse instead, which was a night-and-day difference. Great customer service and great suit for a similar price (check online for discounts & ask to refund). UNABLE TO GET REFUND The first time I went back to return items, I had to explain my situation to multiple associates before anyone could help me. Every worker I spoke to seemed confused about how their own return process worked. Eventually I got to a manager (who was really kind), and they processed part of my refund by having me tap my card. They told me to come back with the dress shirt in its original bag and packaging, which I understood. So I came back on a separate day with the dress shirt, bag, and packaging. This time, after multiple associates again, the associate (THE SAME ASIAN GIRL) just took the shirt, said "thank you, your refund will be sent back," and never asked me to tap my card. I assumed they were handling it on their end. The refund never came. I called corporate, and they told me the refund wasn't processed and it has to be processed. So the girl took my shirt and didn't process the refund. She just took the shirt. So the corporate worker said ill process it for you. I confirmed multiple times through the phone has it been sent through? It wasn't. I called a week later again, and the second representative actually confirmed that yes, they still owe me money for the dress shirt. It wasn't processed by corporate as well? As of writing this, I still have not received my refund. I'm waiting on the promise of the second worker. So after three trips to friar tux, 2 phone calls, miscommunication, and horrible customer service, I still am trying to get my money back. Between the negligent in-store service, the complete lack of communication about the tailoring process, the cheap product, the chaotic return visits where no employee seemed to know what was going on, and now being owed money that corporate has acknowledged but still hasn't returned - this has genuinely been the worst customer service experience of my life. All three of my friends who got suits from there from the wedding regret it. One had to get it rush tailored from a different place paying extra. I had to return (with not even a full refund), and the other just bought the suit but had to wear different pants for the wedding. Someone recently told me they were thinking about going to friar tux for the wedding they're going to, and I told them under no circumstances to go there. I will continue to tell others to do the same for the rest of my life. Horrible experience. read more
