Just below Pike Place Market is a small Scandinavian bakery. Walk inside you find many pasties, breakfast items, and coffee. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast experience. My eight-year-old daughter loved the banana chocolate chip bread. My wife and I enjoyed the meat quiche and breakfast bun with bacon. The cardamom knot had good flavor but it was cold and hard. To drink, we both got the Kobenhaven Latte. It's a slightly sweet latte with almond, cardamom and other flavors. The space is small but there are a few outdoor tables along the sidewalk. Inside is a water jug with plastic cups and dog treats. Service was good!

Excited to try this spot in Seattle's Pike Place market while on a food tour. It's tucked away in a hidden corner that I would've never have thought to look in if it wasn't for the food tour guide. We tried the cardamom knot and the Raspberry Slice (Hindbaersnitter) -- both were so good! The Raspberry Slice was like an upscale pop tart.

This review is for one item: the kouign-amann. Unfortunately, this was lacking on all fronts. The best part of a kouign-amann is that it should be SUPER buttery and flaky, but their rendition was soggy and instead of distinct layers, you had just a sad doughy center. I will continue my hunt in Seattle for an acceptable version of this pastry as unfortunately I didn't find on here. Logistically, the store is a street away from Pike Place and was completely empty at 1PM on a Sunday. They still had most of their pastries available and there is very little seating at the store (a few tables outside and bench seating indoors). Can't speak for the other food or drinks, but the service was very sweet at least. Perhaps the famed churro cruffin is worth the hype, but as a first visit, I wasn't impressed.

We did....but if you are near the waterfront or PPM, may be worth stopping by Freya to get a coffee and breakfast. Located on the backside of PPM on Western, it's a cozy little cafe. Only a few seats inside and a few tables outside. Friendly greetings as we walked in, a lot of nice looking pastries and some sandwiches to choose from. We got the Market Croissant Sandwich and Pecan Sticky Bun. Both were real good and tasty! Accompany that with a latte and chai, we were good to go! It's order at the counter style and they will call your name as your food and drinks become ready. They may not always remember, but be sure to remind them you ordered a bottled drink too. Staff was nice & friendly, on the pricier side, cozy place, coffee and food was good. Glad to have come by to check them out.

Stopped by for breakfast. It was almost $70 for all that we got... the food was overall excellent. The banana chocolate bread was nothing to write home about and a bit dry. However, everything else was really good. It was fun to try all the different coffees in the flight.

Freya is one of my favorite cafes and bakeries in Seattle. Nestled between Pike Place and the waterfront, the storefont is small but mighty. They have a great selection of Scandinavian-influenced baked goods and coffees. Simply browsing their pastry case makes me so happy because of how beautiful every pastry looks! With that said, their churro cruffin is out of this world. Dusted with cinnamon sugar and filled with custard inside, the cruffin is flaky, airy, and buttery. The portion was also huge, making it perfect for sharing. Not to exaggerate, but I dream about eating it everyday. I highly recommend everyone to check out Freya.

Came to this local bakery in Pike Place Market for breakfast. Freya is unique while also being familiar. It specializes in making Scandinavian baked goods and pastries. Has quite a few things to choose from even though it's limited in area. There's a few things for vegans including lattes and avocado toast among the freshly made offerings. A pretty cozy place to sip on coffee and munch on baked goods. It's modern looking while also having the classic charm of old school coffee hangouts. This is one of those places you order at the counter, and they call it out. Has some things that set it apart from other coffeehouses. The main thing is the Scandinavian influence, with the seasonings and spices. It's about $6 for a latte. The Kobenhaven Latte is made with almond, cardamom, and espresso, with steamed milk. Can get a non dairy milk alternate. It's $12 for Avocado Toast. Has standard toppings on it. The avocado spread is seasoned with garlic, lime, microgreens, and sesame seeds. Has many things that are baked fresh. There's danishes obviously, as well as breads and other pastries. Fresh and clean. It's on Western Avenue at Pike. This is on the first floor of the market, and is open for breakfast and lunch, with a few things for vegans and vegetarians.

I stumbled upon this cute hidden gem , I walked in and loved the esthetic decore. I got greeted by a young gentleman. I wasn't quite sure what to order. but I said what the heck . I'm yelping also. so I ordered the Avocado Toast , Seattle frog and for my dessert Pear creme brulee. my avocado toast has a kick of spice, my Frog actually they recommend it hot but I got it cold, trust even better I think . to stuff to try the creme brulee . No Restrooms, very small to sit inside of you have party of 3 or more. There's sitting outside as well. I recommend what I ordered to be quite honest :)

This is such a fantastic cafe. Stopped here twice during our weekend trip to Seattle. Their Kobenhaven coffee was amazing (both hot and iced) and a blueberry danish the first time (so delicious, the blueberries were so fresh and the pastries was so crunchy). The second time we stopped in we met Oli our amazing barista! They were so sweet and funny :) definitely made our second stop memorable. I got another 8 oz kobenhaven and a churro cruffin (PLEASE TRY THIS!!!) and a pear crème brûlée to go because all of their pastries were immaculate. The shop is on the smaller side but there is ample seating outside and a few seats inside:) it's also close to pikes so if you're in that neighborhood be sure to stop by!

The spread - København latte, Hagen colada, churro cruffin, sunny Seattle - IG @bougiefoodieboi

A little pricey but the cafe stands out with their pastries and drinks. It is great to see a decent Scandinavian cafe, given Seattle gives quite a bit of Scandinavian vibes, but the other more well known Scandinavian cafe proved to be a bit underwhelming. I went here for a Sunday brunch, just something quick, which works well since there is not really a line and it didn't take too long to get our coffees. We got the churro cruffin (one of their best sellers) and Sunny Seattle (egg, ham, gruyere cheese, bechamel) requested heated up. We also got 2 lattes - one København latte and one Hagen Colada. Churro cruffin was nicely crunchy and dusted with sugar, and a creamy custard inside. It was delightful and large portions, perfect for sharing. The Sunny Seattle is good in terms of it being savory, but despite us requesting it to be heated up, it was still rock cold in most of the area, so that was a miss. The København latte was delicious - it really stood out from a lot of the lattes I have tried in Seattle - there's cardamom in it that meshes really well with the other ingredients. $6.70 for 12oz before tax is a bit steep but this is one of the few items where it is justifiably good. The Hagen Colada had a nice coconut and pineapple note to it which also stood out, but I personally like the København latte more. Seating is limited inside (4 chairs) but on a good day, do take advantage of the outdoor seating! While it is not the best ambience-wise, the food makes up for it. This place can be overlooked as it is located downstairs one block off the Pike Place Market so most tourists will tend to check out the more popular Pike Place Market restaurants, but this is worth a slight detour if you are in for the mood for Scandinavian pastries. After all, it did take 4 years living in Seattle for this place to pop up on Yelp, but I am glad to have found this place.

My first visit to this spot, I walked by and wanted to stop in for a coffee and spotted the Churro Cruffin, a Flaky, light, airy and buttery pastry filled with vanilla cream and topped with cinnamon sugar, I had to have one my next visit so fast forward to this stop I basically ran to it past the gum wall and all the iconic spots. I entered the shop and spotted it looking so awesome I must say I have never had anything that has topped the perfect perfection that's going on when you eat it plus everyone is so friendly and helpful at the shop I highly recommend stopping by for a coffee and a Churro Cruffin it will set a standard for sure. Churro Cruffin - A+++++

Open early (for Seattle) at 7am. Lots and lots of pastries and cookies. I was actually looking for something bread-like, not necessarily sweet, but wasn't able to find that... so I ended up with a Koign - Amann, a flaky buttery sugary pastry. I don't like overly complicated things or lots of competing flavors, so appreciated the simplicity of this. I chose this place because it's super close to where I was staying near Pike Place but wasn't right in the middle of all the market hustle and bustle (it's located just at the "bottom" on Western Avenue). If you're looking for a pastry or sweet nibble, it's worth a stop in. 2024: 29/100

The grilled cheese was made to perfection the bread was fresh, thick, and delicious, and it was packed with cheese! The tomato soup was also delicious with a unique flavor. Because you never turn away a delicious PNW Salmon dish. The place is cute, mainly wooden, lots of plants inside (my allergies were killing me here hehe). Plenty of sitting areas and window views too. I got lucky to seat by a window to just enjoy the rainy view. Their Salmon toast was delicious! I asked for the cream cheese on the side because I cant have lactose but I still wanted to try their dish with all ingredients. So I dipped the slices a few times to try it all and omg its so perfectly paired. I totally recommend it! The coffee was ok. I had their gingersnap latte seasonal drink. I asked with only 1 pump of sweet and alternative milk. I was not impressed. I prefer black coffee haha but if you enjoy sweet drinks you may enjoy this one. I still finished it, so it wasn't terrible just not something I'd order again. Also, Idk why my coffee was served on a to-go cup. Maybe that took some of the joy of it? Overall, I recommend the this spot. Staff was friendly. The menu is vast. Sitting arrangements are great and cozy. Within walking distance from the convention center and a couple of the hotels in the area.

However, I will say their menu is great and the holiday joy is more of a supplement rather than a cover up or gimmick. I would comfortably visit Jollidaze for their drinks and get a working session. Wifi available, washroom (restrooms) available, and outlets available. Ube Phe Latte - rich, creamy, ube foam on top of a strong ca phe! There's also some ube milk, so a three layered drink. Both parts of ube were nutty, sweet, and paired with the ca phe amazingly. Strong Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk always hits but the ube mixture is a cherry on top. Up there with the other ube coffees around. Strawberry Matcha - honestly a simple no frills strawberry matcha. Smoothly whisked matcha, lightly sweetened strawberry puree, and a cup to be mixed in. Maybe more jam than other spots, which can help sweeten the drink and add some texture (chewiness), so might have to say above average.
