Awesomely tasty! Loved the crispy chicken and fries. Also the service was fast and efficient!

Let's keep this short and sweet! This place gets a 10 star review! What struck me about this new establishment located in the cutest part of Concord in Todos Santos Plaza was the mention of Fried Chicken offerings. Of course! You know it's real serious when you just get out of a yoga class and have the absolute nerve to eat a fried chicken sammich after! I ordered takeout. The menu was easy to read and the prices were fair which is always a plus for me. The restaurant had some seating and was clean. The staff was friendly and did not rush me to put my order in (love that). The bathrooms were also clean. The food itself was amazing. The chicken sandwich was HUGE. Super fat, juicy, chunky, tenderized piece of white meat that melted in your mouth, like buttah baby! Seasoned and crisped to perfection is how I like my Fried Chicken. Tasty, good and delicious! Have at it folks-you won't regret it! Oh and the onion rings are bigger then yo head! read more

Bottom line: One of my favorite chicken places, hands down. We crave it. This place consistently makes delicious fresh chicken when you order. It does take 10-15 minutes to make because it is cooked FRESH, so if you are in a hurry, call ahead and take it to go. We always get a sandwich and a drumsticks and wings and they are always cooked perfectly, and arrive piping hot. the skin/batter is always crisp but not too thick. Instead of dipping the chicken pieces, one of my favorite things is to lightly coat the battered chicken with the sweet and spicy bbq sauce and then sprinkle the onion cheese powder on top for extra deliciousness. read more

I'm having bariatric surgery soon, so there are many foods I will never be able to eat again. As such, I have a few "Bucket List" foods that I'm going to eat before the surgery. Fresh Tray's fries are one of those foods. Today I went to Fresh Tray and got two orders of their fries and they did not disappoint. I am very happy knowing those were the last fries I'll eat. read more

Great chicken sandwich and French Fries! Not oily or greasy at all! Found this place by luck of the draw!

December 9, 2018 "Mom's Touch" sometimes just isn't good enough. Sometimes, you have to reinvent yourself a few months later. I get it, sometimes you get in far over your head and you figure you have to start over. In this case the change wasn't really necessary. If it wasn't broke then it didn't need to be fixed, I kinda hate when something minor which could of been tweaked gets completely replaced when what was there could of been salvaged. "Fresh Tray" I feel was a....fresh new start that wasn't needed as what was already established could of been improved on (find my Mom's Touch review) now in left here, time to do a review that is basically the same as the last review..kinda. Fresh Tray Concord: This establishment is ran by the same owners of the previous "Mom's Touch" that became quite popular in the downtown Concord area, especially among people that have visited the Korean chain overseas. The Concord location claim to fame was the fact that it was the first ever U.S. location. KFC (not the stuff from Kentucky) aka "Korean Fried Chicken" was what "Mom's Touch" was about with a plethora of other options on the menu that was sure to have you wanting to visit and try more options. "Fresh Tray" took the formula it was based off of, stripped some of the ingredients and rebadged it as something else. They pulled a "Mitsubishi" and took the already popular "Eclipse" car and turned it into a "SUV".... I still wanted to try this joint and see if it's changed with the name....Here we go.... Bulgogi Cheese Burger Combo $11.54 - This combo I know isn't one of the chicken options they have here but leave it to me to go against the grain. The burger is pretty much not what you think it is considering that you have to pay an additional $3.50 for actual "bulgogi". Allow me to break everything down.. (Bulgogi Cheese Burger) It was an okay burger by burger standards. It would of been better if it was the same one they had when it was "Mom's Touch" . It was fresh and hot but I wish they grilled the onions and not just put a squirt of teriyaki sauce on a burger and called it something it's not. It was decent, but not special. Mind you, "Burgers and Chicken" is the new motto here....This is technically the only burger on the menu. (Fries) The fries were okay, they tasted similar to "Jack in the Box" curly fries. They came fresh but got cold pretty fast, nothing special about these, I wish I would of opted for the onion rings. (Honeydew Fruit-ade) $3.49 on its own, $1.39 when you add it as a drink option in place of the standard drink in your combo. It was really good and refreshing. Popcorn Chicken $3.79 - The popcorn chicken was the bomb! I really liked this a lot. With a couple sprinkles of the onion cheese topping it really amps up the overall taste. Overall: "Fresh Tray" had a good thing going on but I feel they sold themselves short trying to cut corners. In all I feel this place is still a solid 3 star place, I do want to try their chicken wings and see if it's worth they hype that it had when it was "Mom's Touch" . With that being said I will be back, but I hope that this place gets it together or else they'll have to change their name again to serve the same thing and strip the menu again. read more

The fries were great and so was the chicken sandwich. It seems like the food is made to order. The people seemed nice. Hopefully they will get more customers! read more

Had to give this place a try because I love Korean fried chicken. While it's not your typical Korean fried chicken, it has just as much flavor and super crispy. You can tell they season their chicken well before frying and it comes out really juicy. We got the fried chicken drumsticks and will probably try the wings next to see if it's just as good! We also tried their fries, popcorn chicken, and onion rings. Popcorn chicken was a little dry so I'll pass on this next time but did really like their fries. Sauces- bbq and the sweet/spicy sauce was too sweet. The ranch was good but tasted watered down. They also limit how many sauces you can ask for which makes sense but I did want to try their other sauces read more

Amazing Chicken! My first time here I was so surprised by the size and freshness of the chicken. The service is also high quality. Unlike other more commercial options this one has a family feel. Think this place is actually ran by a family. Bottom line you can't go wrong with Fresh Tray! read more

I just moved to concord and I am convinced there is some sort of network of really good restaurants owned by Koreans. This place is one of them. I just tried their number 1 chicken sandwich and it was superb. The staff is great and friendly. The restaurant is super clean and you can tell the food is high quality. Will come back asap. Between here and Uncle Jays burger nearby - I am set on both chicken and hamburgers. Kam sa hom ni da read more

Cheese chicken burger was very delicious. Sauce was very flavorful, little sweet which was a welcome change. The battered chicken was very tasty and decent quality. Would have liked for it to not be curled but I understand that happens sometimes with a fryer. Surprisingly not greasy. They're up front about an approx. 15 minute time for cooking and I think mine took 12. Pricing was fair for a "burger" and didn't try the sides or drinks. Next trip! Overall, a very pleasant lunch and a place I'll have to try again! read more

Love this chicken sandwich spot! I usually just order one chicken sandwich for a quick bite. Every time I order a chicken sandwich it always taste FRESH & crispy. I love how gigantic the chicken and portion size is. You feel satisfied in the end and a huge bang for your buck. They have an outside patio and it's right next Chase bank. Parking is usually available right in the front. Also, order ahead if you are using take out or don't want to wait! read more

I like this spot a lot! The chicken sandwiches are all I've tried here and I've yet to try anything else cuz they are that damn good! The bread is lightly toasted with a lil crunch and it's almost sweet and spongy like in n out buns, the chicken is huge with the perfect breading ratio and the lettuce tomato and sauce is just the best finishing touch. I always forget how much i like the until i order and take a bite. I always feel some type of way cuz the price point for the sandwich is a little high but def worth it once you've tried them! The only critique is their fries... they are not my favorite. Always too salty. If you a fry person they kinda taste like checkers or rally's fries if they put too much seasoning on them: and i LOVE rally's fries! 10/10 would recommend on the chicken sandwich. read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant while heading to share tea a few months ago, We are a chicken loving family haha so we had to try it! First of all I would like to say the quality of the chicken sandwiches are delicious it's so filling, the size of the chicken patty is kind of overwhelming only because it's hanging out of the buns and I'm not a fan of the bun sliding everywhere (I'm a little picky, I hate getting food on my hands lol ) but regardless it's really good! The chicken nuggets are bit too crispy for me personally but my bf loved them. They place was really clean, not crowded and the wait time was adequate for what we ordered/the time of day we went. The same woman was working the cashier the two times we went and she was really sweet and didn't rush us when we went there for the first time. Love this place! read more

I didn't go to this location, but my friends grabbed me the Chicken Strips and Onion rings from here. I didn't have time to grab food, so I was thankful. I gotta say this was delicious! The chicken was nice and crispy (and great with the ranch and bbq sauce). The onion rings were nice and big too. It was quite good. Overall, I definitely want to try the sandwich here next time (that's what my friends picked up) and that looks super good too. Overall, very satisfied and I will definitely go back soon! read more

First time here. Eating lunch at dinner time before I head to the concord Farmers Market. I asked the young gal what she recommends and she said the number 1 chicken burger combo. For $10 for the meal can't complain too much. But, it's made fresh so takes a moment. If your in a hurry call in.Regular soda machine, nice large piece of fried chicken on sandwiche, basic bun , crunchy fries. Not a bad deal. The complementary sauces are super thin. read more

I don't think the food is bad but my complaint is that I have to pay before I can order. they do not take phone calls.

Family of 3 enjoyed the food. Don't expect fast cook, it's cook to order venu. Clean inside and a polite staff. Simple selections of fried chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, and beef burger with a tasty, bit messy, seasoned brown sauce. My choice: Bulgogi Cheese Burger Meal Potato Fries seasoned almost similar to 'Jack's Seasoned Curly Fries', but more crisp and delicious. Drink (about 18oz) - Coca-Cola brands. Wife devoured the Chicken Wings giving praise as she contiued to consume. 14 yrs daughter had Popcorn Chicken and described a mildly spicy flavor. Good, but nothing special. Tried the syrup based Passionfruit (mixed w/7-Up) "Fruit Adies" was okay. Strong hit of PF had a slight aftertaste. Flavor improves as the ice melts. Prices range from $2.99-$11.54 w/curbside seating available that I felt were 1 small table too many. We'll most definitely return for another go! read more

Hands down!! The very best fried chicken sandwich on the planet!! (If your "planet" is Contra Costa County.) Perfect, crispy fried HUGE chicken breast layered with FRESH lettuce, tomato, onion and a special house sauce that melds it all together. The bun is soft and tasty too! They have sides but honestly, after eating the chicken sandwich, there's no way I have room to put anything else in my tummy. I've been enjoying this treat for quite some time and purposely didn't write a review because I didn't want to get the secret out! But hey, this business does it right and they work hard so they deserve the props! Garaunteed, you try it, you won't be disappointed. read more

The best best best fried chicken in the whole wide world! Omg! Have you ever tried? KFC, churchs, Popeyes, nothing nowhere got anything on Fresh Tray. It's soooooo crunchy and yet the meat is so tender and juicy. It's not overly oily or seasoned, just perfect. I tried their drumsticks, wings, and sandwich. The sandwich is better than any Popeyes chicken sandwich. It was sooooo good! Nothing homemade has come close to that. The chicken in the sandwich was huge, it was definitely good enough for 2 sandwiches. It's not those generic chicken patties from the freezers. They are breaded boneless chicken breasts. Fresh and crunchy, and not soggy in the sandwich. I usually am a wing person but damnnnn the drumsticks got me hooked! Soooo crunchy. And the inside is very very welled cooked. The wings are good too big the drums are so juicy! Their drinks are flavored sprite but they are aoooooo refreshing. The honeydew one is the best. I will definitely return! read more

How do you judge a burger joint? This experience had ups and downs for me. Let's start with the positives.... French Fries - super crunchy seasoned fries that definitely had a coating on it, hard to tell if they were frozen or not but they were good none the less. Onion rings - crispy and fried perfectly, these didn't even make it home. Popcorn chicken - Again perfectly fried, extra crispy with a moist interior. A good fried chicken overall. The "It's ok" Spicy sweet sauce and BBQ sauce taste like your typical off the shelf sauces but with chili and spices added. They taste fine, but nothing to write home about IMO The "That's Disappointing" I'm left with the same question, how do you rate a burger place? The burger of course. Got the Bulgolgi burger and man this was a big let down. I would have 5 starred this place but this burger really was not worth the price. $12.69 for a burger, fries and a drink. I'll give you a dollar food cost for the fries and drink, so we're looking at about an $11.69 burger. Patty was not seasoned at all and looked frozen or at least preformed. Bulgogi sauce was painted on top so you can taste the sauce, but the burger tasted like nothing. American cheese was placed on during the assembly instead of on the griddle, not quite as melted as I like it. This thing was WAAAAAY overcooked, completely dry with no where near enough fat content for a burger. My favorite burger joint in SF (which is actually a food truck) grinds their meat fresh daily and adds premium cuts like rib-eye to the grind to provide a steak like flavor, and they do this all for $12.00 operating in San Francisco. So I'm back to my original question, how do you grade a burger joint that puts out a sub par burger but everything else is great? Since most are not going to read this far i'll round up for staying open during these crazy times, but that burger game needs to be stepped up. read more

First time here. We were greeted right when we walked in, and the place smelled amazingly good. The menu is simple, but has something for everyone. There were a steady amount of people coming and going. The place was very clean. They have a good selection of various sauces (I believe they're homemade) and onion and cheese dry sauce to sprinkle on your chicken, fries, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks. We ordered the #1 Chicken Sandwich and #4 Bulgogi Cheese Burger. The food came nice and hot, and looked delicious. One of the best chicken and bulgogi burgers, ever! The fries are tasty all on their own. They aren't your typical boring French fries. If you haven't been here, you need to. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Fresh Tray for bringing great food to Downtown Concord! read more

Fresh Tray - #4 Bulgogi Cheese Burger with Fries. The sauces are, ketchup, hot sauce, bbq sauce, and the dry rub to sprinkle on sides. - Chicken Shop Near Me - Concord, California

So overall rating it was ~3.5 stars and for me, it was good to try just once. I ordered 2 chicken cheese burger meals and both burgers included onion, lettuce, 2 slices of tomato, American cheese melted to the top bun, the bottom bun had some special sauce on it, and 2 pieces of fried chicken that were pretty thin. The chicken was dry, stringy, and overcooked but I get it because frying 2 thin pieces of chicken is quicker BUT from a customer's perspective, I would rather have 1 thick piece of fried chicken that is juicy juicy. Although the chicken was crispy (so were the fries..YUM!), there was an overwhelming amount of seasoning in the batter so it made the chicken kind of too salty for my liking. I think having just one thick piece of chicken would take care of this. They offered ketchup, sweet hot sauce (reminds me of Lays barbecue chips) and barbecue sauce (way too sweet for me). I wish they had another hot sauce, something more vinegary. Or some extra pickles on the side! They have indoor and outdoor seating areas BUT if you sit outside, the only trash can they have is inside so you'd have to go back inside to throw away your trash. They do have bathrooms for customers and the whole place gives off a fresh, clean vibe. It's a pretty small place but it's close to the park so it's an option to enjoy your burger there. There is street parking but also public parking garages a block or two away. Super convenient to eat at! read more

The chicken here is absolutely divine. Everything is cooked to order so expect to wait 15 mins as stated on the menu. I don't mind waiting knowing the food is fresh. I always go for the chicken burger and an order of the wings. Fried to perfection and extremely juicy. What really piqued my interest though is how "clean" the chicken wing were on the inside. Normally you would expect some veins and cooked blood etc but the wings here are always pure white, no imperfections whatsoever in the meat. Not sure if it's their supplier or something they do to the chicken but I love it! Who needs a Popeye's chicken sandwich when we have this?! read more
