Gas station fried chicken has finally landed in Walnut Creek! Krispy Krunchy Chicken recently opened a new location at the 76 Gas Station at Main and San Luis. I stopped by here on 02/01/2025 to try it out. Since there was no parking at the gas station, I parked my car at the 7-Eleven lot next door. The setup here was similar to other KKC locations. I was helped by two men behind the counter. Both were friendly and helpful. I got the Chicken + Tenders Family Meal. It had 12 pieces of chicken, six tenders, six biscuits, and potato wedges. The total, with tax, was close to $47. Overall, everything was good. The fried chicken and tenders were well-seasoned, crunchy, and juicy; the honey biscuits were fresh and tasty; and the potato wedges were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I've never tried this chicken before but it was late and I needed some gas at the station. I'm usually not one to eat gas station food but I came inside to pay and it smelled very tasty. The chicken was super crispy and the biscuit was good. I had Mac and cheese for a side and it was super cheesy. Overall nothing super special but for a late night snack it hit the spot! Krispy Krunchy in WC?! At the 76 gas station on the corner of Main/San Luis?! Yes, please! Now I don't have to DD from Concord. Parking is limited and you order from the cashier and she hooks you up. I ordered an 8 piece chicken, 8 piece tender, small potato wedges, and small Jambalaya. The chicken was insanely crunchy. The gal working was really nice and even asked me my preference on pieces (drums and 2 thighs). I usually get a ton of wings when I DD so this was great to be able to not get wings. They don't have hot sauce so we got ketchup and BBQ. Luckily we had some at home. I think KK has the tastiest chicken with a kick from the southern spices. Must try if you love fried chicken and haven't yet. They have more side offerings than KFC, Popeyes, you name it. read more

Juicy tender chicken! Tasty biscuits. Shrimp were a little overdone. The staff was nice and pointed out the specials they had, which saved me a few bucks! The location is inside a gas station so nothing to write home about in terms of the vibe. Good enough for a quick lunch or snack on the run! read more

Krispy Krunchy Chicken is legendary to many. They are always inside of another place, usually a gas station. This one is in the Recently remodeled 76/Circle K on North Main. There will be better reviews but i grade mine on ambience, service and food quality. Ambience. This is a gas station with no seating. It's freshly remodeled as of January 2025. Service. Order at the same counter that folks buy gas, gum etc Nice folks and they get it together quickly. Food. The chicken is good. I grade it higher than KFC, maybe on par with Chickfilet, Popeyes(also in gas stations) Value: $8.99 for three large tenderloins, a side and a biscuit. $7.99 for three piece chicken box with same sides. Had a craving for good fried chicken so we wanted to try this newer spot. Pulled up and there is no parking. You can park in the 7-11 lot behind the Circle K/Krispy Krunchy store. A few customers parked at the pumps and bought chicken so it was a bit chaotic. Went inside the gas station and went to the counter. A line formed right after us as it's a busy shad station and chicken spot. Friendly clerk was doing double duty selling gas and chicken. We ordered the chicken and tenders Family Pack. Prices are good, chicken was hot, fresh, and crunchy. The blueberry biscuits were really good. Only negative is the parking situation. We'll be back! read more

Pull up time to the gas station to get my krispy krunchy chicken. Getting out of the car the smell is in the air . Mmmm goodness on its way . Followed the smell indoors , as you come inside Bam !! The counter and chicken is in your face but of course it's to go because it's a gas station . Slim down version of the spread they usually carry. It's still enticing . 6 Wings 2 Thighs Mash and gravy 2 blueberry biscuits Fries Wings come with different sauces . It comes with different sauces . I like sweet and sour . Buffalo. Crispy good crunch. Nice and hot Thighs - same flavor and crunch Mash potatoes and gravy . ( meh ) nothing special. Fries could be a little more crispier but good size . The rumors are true; you can get your favorite gas station chicken in Walnut Creek at the corner of N. Main and San Luis Road. Yes, my friends, Krispy Krunchy Chicken has come to town tucked inside the Circle K and it was delicious! The four-piece Krunch Box was $11 and some change. You could add a soda for $1. The chicken pieces were good-sized. Gas when I visited was $3.79 a gallon, too! It will be hard to say no to the chicken when you get gas, and the entire parking lot and building smell so good! They offer thighs, wings, and legs on the bone. Their chicken tenders are breast meat. Service was fast and friendly. I was there during the first week of opening, so they were out of sides. I don't eat a lot of fried food, or food I have to eat with my hands. And I for damn sure have never eaten food out of a gas station. But let me tell you about this here chicken. I've been hearing about Krispy Krunchy for years. But I couldn't get over the whole "in a gas station" part. One day, for whatever reason, I experienced a craving for THIS chicken. Not sure if I saw an add, or a post on Nextdoor, I don't remember. Any way, I looked up the closest one, and viola, the Circle K next to the Porsche dealership had one. This was a little over a month ago. I'll spare you the additional parts of the story, but I've been back three times since. Last time I got myself some Safeway potato salad, Glory collard greens, some Bush's baked beans, and added some left over yams. I had myself a nice little soul food dinner. Damn it was good. 4.5 stars. Stopped in for first time ever trying Krispy Krunchy anywhere. Wasn't much to choose from, but enough. Person behind me asked if there'd be more, and the cook yelled out from the kitchen that it'd only be a few minutes. The man helping me said someone had just been in and bought almost everything. I had a 3piece Krunch box. It's weird that a breast costs the same as a wing, but I suppose that's practical and keeps things simple. It is a gas station. I had a thigh, drumstick and wing, potatoes and an extra biscuit. The biscuits are very small, like little muffin tops. They're tasty and great texture and 99 cents which is cheaper than other places. My chicken was all very tasty, very crunchy, good temperature. You can see some hot sauce in the chicken as you eat it... good level of spice. The potatoes were tasty, but they weren't very hot temperature-wise . That was really my only minor disappointment. It was a very generous portion of potatoes. It's just a small setup at the counter. It got a little busy while I was there - three or four customers is a lot in a place like that. The staff were very friendly and helpful. That station doesn't have much exterior space. I think there are two parking spaces and the gas pump islands. I just pulled up near the door. When a long van pulled up by a gas pump, I was sorta stuck and unable to pull out. It's tight quarters! I'm definitely going back. I like spicy, crunchy chicken on the bone, and there aren't many options nearby. Three big pieces of chicken, a big order of potato wedges (enough for leftovers) and two small biscuits for $11.45 incl tax is fine by me. read more

I'd never had (or even heard of) Krispy Krunchy Chicken until my local 76 station turned into a gas and food to go market. I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken is crunchy, hot, and juicy. Wedge fries are great. I loved the blueberry biscuits but sadly they discontinued those. The honey/butter ones are okay, but not as good IMHO. My only real complaint is that this place is too darn convenient and close, so I'm likely to eat more fried chicken than I should now. :o) read more

Way overrated in my opinion. Decent gas station food, but nothing better. Not fresh, must have been cooked hours before. Only in a pinch

Came in and was served raw chicken sandwich. came back in to show just got a stare and they looked at each other! never again! Reported so hopefully someone else doesn't get sick read more
