Not quite sure how we discovered this place. A health food place, order style like chipotle where you can build your own bowls, also was very similar to Sweet Green in Boston. I opted to build my own bowl with a base of quinoa, broccoli, chicken, and dressing. We took our bowls to go and ate them at the beach. It was very tasty and flavorful. I really enjoyed the chicken and ate the whole thing very quickly - I could've licked the bowl. I ate it too fast I didn't get a chance to snap a pic. It was full of different flavors that all complimented each other. Parking was a little rough in the front off the main road strip but I think there was a parking lot in the back. read more

I first visited a different location than this one, closer to my cousin's home since she recommended it. I was hooked instantly! This particular location is closer to where I live but it's honestly a problem lol. I love the simplicity of their menu and ordering process. The food itself is absolutely delicious! I come here so often when I want something quick delicious and healthy. At this point i have tried most combinations of bases, proteins and veggies but my favorite is still the cauliflower mash and the bbq chicken. This location has very limited parking directly in front but also a side parking lot is available. Staff is always so kind, cheery and helpful. I would like to add that I truly appreciate the ambiance and the interior design in all locations. They differ in small ways but I love and appreciate that about this business. Lastly, every time I've been here I get the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, they are delicious! I do however, have yet to try the chocolate zucchini brownie. I happened onto a gift card so I brought my wife out for dinner. We are both big fans now. I got the 6-component bowl, which comes with two bases, two veggies, and two proteins with a sauce. I had sweet potato noodles and kale Caesar salad as my bases. The noodles were excellent but the salad added a little too much roughage and made some bites hard to chew. I cannot complain about my choice of broccoli and mushroom for veggies, both were great. Out of my protein choices, I'd give the edge to bbq chicken over citrus chicken, though I enjoyed both. I went with sriracha Mayo for my sauce, and added on avocado for an extra $2. I had some reservations about how everything would fit together (all the individual ingredients are flavored ie. citrus, sesame, caprese etc). When the dust settled, my fears ended up unfounded; the ingredients are all high-quality and fresh, and the bowl was a savory, creamy hit. Neither of us were able to finish our bowls, though it was hard to stop eating them. Price was fair at about $30 before tip. Overall I would say Fresh Kitchen rivals Chipotle in the realm of fast-casual dining and I will certainly think of them next time I want something quick and delicious. read more

So happy a coworker introduced me to this place for lunch! The healthier options are great; flavorful with a variety of choices to fit dietary restrictions with ease and still bring together incredible customized combinations. Essentially this place is like if Whole Foods and Chipotle had a love child & then Whole Foods go custody. You can pick your base for your bowl with both hot options like cauliflower mash or brown rice as well as cold options like kale slaw and sweet potato noodles. Then load it up with veggies like sesame green beans, maple/honey glazed sweet potatoes, garlic mushrooms, and more, as well as proteins including steak, tofu, and other options, before topping it with salsa, guac, sauces, and other unique options. Prices are reasonable when you factor in the healthy factor. I got the Strawberry Chiwee juice with strawberries, apples, pineapples, chia seeds, & more in it along with a kid's bowl with 2 extra veggies & even with tip it was just a $20 lunch. Not something I'll do every day, but definitely worth it for the variety and flavors combined with the healthier option compared to a lot of other $20 lunches. Also don't let the location fool you from Kennedy; there's quite a bit of parking behind the building & the line moves quickly. There's indoor and outdoor seating, but it does seem a lot of people do online orders or take-out here rather than sit and stay to eat. I often end up at the original location on South Howard and occasionally visit the St. Pete shop, but until now, I'd never been to the one on Kennedy. With my visit being at peak lunch time, I figured it would be easier to find parking at this location. As I was pulling in, I noticed the sign out front that said, "big parking lot in back." As fate would have it, despite the proclaimed "big parking lot," there wasn't a single spot open. I ended up driving around a couple of times before one opened up, and after some borderline un-safe maneuvering, I squeezed into the spot. But once inside, my food delivered the same unmatched, tastes-so-good-it's-hard-to-believe-it's-actually-that-healthy-but-I-don't-even-care-if-it-actually-is goodness that I've come to know and love from FK. I seriously don't know how they do it, but I truly am the biggest fan. Bonus: this location, unlike the original, has ice and soda! This place is popular with health conscious women: think those in Lululemon workout gear, acai bowl loving females. Food: 4/5 stars The food is a great option for those with dietary restrictions. But it can be a bit pricey because you don't get a lot of food. For a 4 bowl (2 base, 1 vegetable, 1 meat), it is $8.99. My favorite combo is cold sweet potato noodles, mushrooms and BBQ chicken with coconut siracha sauce. For the protein, I would stay with chicken because I had the tuna last time and stomach felt funny afterwards. Otherwise, I do enjoy coming to Fresh Kitchen. I got the "6" which included 2 bases (rice, cauliflower rice, noodles, salad etc...), 2 proteins (chicken, salmon, steak) and grilled veggies. All was amazing. The line was long to get in but moved very fast. I was in and out in 15 minutes or so. Thanks to the lady in front of who schooled me up on what to try and how to order. You have a base - a kind of rice or pasta or spinach - then you can add vegetables and protein and sauce on top. It was really good! I had brown rice with broccoli and green beans. I tried the herb vinaigrette - definitely tasted majorly herb-y so it wasn't my favorite. But the bowl was good. The veggies are a little spicey though, and I'm a little overly sensitive to spice so it's probably not a problem to most. Cool place! read more

It is accurate to keep the line moving and limiting number of bowls per person. This is a successful operation on the line que to sit down. The bowl was improving from my last visit which I can see the bottom of the bowl. This time they fill up the bowl with food. The quantity has been met. I like the steak and the BBQ chicken. I hadn't been to the Westshore area in around 6 years, so many restaurants were closed and many others (like FK) new.
