There's this balance and flow between the flavors, textures, and ingredients that just hits every time. Dear Mr. Eric Smithers I am writing to share a disappointing experience I had at your New Tampa location. While placing my order, I felt that I was being rushed before I had an opportunity to decide what I wanted. The staff appeared impatient throughout the interaction as I was on the phone with my elderly mother trying to explain the options to her so I may bring her a meal from your popular establishment. When I calmly expressed that I felt I was being rushed and asked for patience, instead of addressing my concern, I was told that i was being rude. The staff were rolling their eyes and purposely ignoring my corrections as I tried to clearly give them my choices. They were also throwing the food in the plates. My concerns were dismissed, rather than acknowledged. They were just silently being nasty by using body language and they were very intentional so that I would be provoked. My plates were pushed to the side while they finished other orders and when I called the server on it. The manager came over and accused me of being rude and became very provoking by gaslighting me, into I being the problem, and instead of helping I was chastised and told that if I did not stop talking my order would not be completed and I will not be served. When I tried to tell the manager that I was not angry and that Im trying to talk loud enough so they can hear the order over loud music and other background noises I was again accused of being rude. I did not cuss or say anything that was disrespectful to any server just begging to finish my meal request so I may pay and leave, the manager proceeded to chastise and berate me in front of other customers and took my plates and threw them away. The situation escalated to the point where I was told that the staff would not continue taking my order. I left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and unwelcome. I sir with all do respect am a 53 year old grandmother and a nurse for over 30 years of service. The level of disrespect I received was horrible and instead of protecting the customer the manager encouraged that behavior even when I begged to just finish the order. I understand that restaurants can be busy, and I always try to treat staff respectfully. However, I believe customers should also be treated with patience, courtesy, and should be heard before judgment was made. I hope this incident can be reviewed so that future customers do not have a similar experience. Also my poor mother was on the phone listening to the entire interaction and she agreed that I was not given an opportunity to explain or to finish my order I was dismissed and continuously provoked during that interaction. We stopped by this place to pick up gluten free and vegan food before going to Tampa International Airport. The traffic was awful, but parking in front of the store was mercifully easy. The food is all gluten free, and if you're vegan you are out of luck for their "protein" choices, but the chickpeas are listed as a vegetable option, and are very tasty. It's expensive for the portion size, but better than taking your chances with whatever is available at the airport. This was my first time and I had no idea what to expect. It was setup similar to a cava or chipotle - where you got a bowl and got to pick your options. The food looked fresh and smelled amazing. It was my first time so I asked could I get a sample of some of the options before I put it in my bowl. I landed on a three bowl - which was one protein, one base, and one veggie. Really starting to feel disappointed with Fresh Kitchen after many years of being a fan. Today the portions seemed much smaller than what they normally provide. I always get the same order and they were super stingy with the amount of Kale Pesto Tomatoes which you have to pay $1.50 extra for. I think they could be a little more generous - this isn't a protein or guac. Tomatoes and the ingredients don't warrant the extra charge but irregardless if you're going to charge me extra on top of what I'm already paying (which is now $11.25 for a four bowl) I expect you to load me up. It does get very busy and parking can be a challenge, but I've found its easiest to order online ahead of time and pick up off the shelf in front! I think I've mastered my favorite bowl so I'm writing it here so I remember. For my protein I got the baked almond chicken. For bases I got the tumeric quinoa and kale caesar. I've always loved fresh kitchen it's fast and it's healthy but my only complaint that has always been consistent every single time I've come in- it's ridiculous what they consider a serving size on the meat. As you can see in the picture it is a good example of what it looks like when you order two helpings but what's messed up it is this is exactly how it came with both two scoops as you can see one side as one scoop and the other side is another scoop and if you count the smaller side there's only eight pieces of chicken and each piece is pretty small like tiny bite-size. Is Fresh considering eight pieces of chicken to be one serving? Because I get one serving of chicken at Chick-fil-A or at chipotle and it's much more. It's barely one serving to me to double up on both. You can still charge the same price just put a little more in the scoop! read more
