Nachos, dumplings, swoosh power smoothie and powerhouse bowl
Fontaine M.

On the first day of phase 3, we had booked a patio table which was beautifully set up in the parking lot with full artificial turf and a cute garden feel. We had worn our masks waiting to be taken to our table. Once sat down, we were directed to the QR on the table for the menu. There were 4 of us. We each ordered a drink and shared some appetizers. I ordered the Swoosh - chocolate shake with almond milk, peanut butter, and maple syrup. It was super delicious. The appetizers were also very good. My favourite was probably the quinoa onion rings. For the main, I had the powerhouse bowl. A little disappointed in the portion but still very delicious. It was mainly brown rice at the bottom with some greens on top with 2 pieces of tofu steak. For dessert, we shared chocolate cake and a chocolate brownie. I generally like fresh restaurants but do find them a little pricey. The other reason for the 3 stars was service was kind of inconsistent. Some of them were very nice and some of them were not. We were also told that we had to wear our masks unless eating or drinking but we found it odd that we were the only ones told that when the rest of the guests also didn't have them on. If they enforced it across I would have felt a bit better, but it almost felt like we were picked on.

Really can't go wrong with Fresh! This was my first time visiting the Hurontario/Mississauga location. It has the same vibe inside but for me it lacked the ambience and charm of the downtown locations. This is probably just because it's in Mississauga in a typical suburban plaza! Was sad to find out the brunch menu was only available at the Sherway location, will have to visit there next. The table ordered the nachos and dragon broccoli to share, I ordered a power bowl on rice (my usual). My friends got bowls and a wrap as well. Our server was so kind, we were the first people inside when it opened and it slowly got more busy. It's a popular vegan chain so I'm not surprised. I swear by Fresh so I'll be back soon, maybe not to this location but definitely another one.

Amazing! If you're vegan JUST COME HERE! Even if you're not vegan the food, service and aesthetic is just so lovely.

So hard not to be an extreme fan boy of this place. So many options and they're all good, stable, clean, and tasty. If we open enough of these or similar, many more will swap to vegetarians or part way there like myself.

I was SO happy to see that Fresh opened a location in Mississauga. Finally, it doesn't have to be a "big day out in the city" to enjoy some of my favourite vegan eats. I was lucky to attend the opening of this restaurant, it was an organized event, and of course it was walk-in only. We did have to wait a bit for the food but that was expected and we were just happy to be there. We ordered some classics - buffalo cauliflower, poutine, and quinoa onion rings. All all items were well packed for takeout and delicious. Everything on the menu, so I can't wait to get back there soon and try new items. We were able to grab some of their in-house sauces. I personally love the chili oil...it seems so simple but it really adds to a variety of different dishes you make. It was a busy spot when we were there, but the staff was so calm and under control, no matter how crazy it got. I can't wait until I can bring my laptop and work from here, the interior is airy, bright, and dreamy.

Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)

Ok, so I rarely write reviews. I find them a bit of a waste of time, and I'm firmly against writing…read moreone if you dislike the restaurant. Hence why we're here. Well, at first I was a bit on the fence about ordering cause of the vegetarian/vegan menu, I like my meat, love meat, got to have my protein dammit! But wow! was I ever surprised and happy about following my gut and choosing to go there. You see, I'm from Vancouver, and if you know a bit about my hometown is that you know we have a very large asian population. Heck, I'd even go as far as saying it's my second language, (my first language is English and my parents are Chilean...never spoken a word of it) but I've been around it so much somehow, I feel I could get by given the chance. So, by examining the pictures from the online menu, I thought to myself; If the food is anything remotely like the pictures, it looks exactly like my fav spot in Vancouver - Congee Noodle King- also a must try if you're in east Vancouver. Just trust my absent Asian ancestry ok?! I ordered the N65. Fried Noodles with Steamed and Stir-Fried Bean Curd, and as a request asked them to make it spicy to which they happily and kindly obliged. This dish was packed with flavour. Oh em gee! Loaded with fresh crunchy veggies, the noodles were spot on: thin, velvety and a lot of them. Makes for some healthy slurps! Oh, did I mention the meat? No, I didn't, because it didn't have any, and I have never not missed something so much. The crispy fried bean curds tasted like deep fried spare ribs. My pupils dilated a bit. And that's ok cause I went into a food coma, got to heaven and wrote a review about the very first Asian restaurant I try in Toronto and I'm already planning to go back. If you give this place less than 5 stars you don't know food, Asian food or how to speak it so go on and chew on some meat! Thank you for the wonderful and friendly service as well. I shall return. How do you say that in Mandarin? Cheers! - Patricio

Stumbled upon this restaurant as I was looking for vegetarian restaurants and thought the food was…read morepretty good! I tried their soy chicken drum sticks, kim chi, dumplings, siu mai, and radish cake. My absolute favourite and would recommend is the radish cake!! It is so good. The kim chi was off-putting and was drenched in whatever sauce. The dumplings are also really good as well. I like the layout and aesthetics of the restaurant. One thing to note also was that the employees just seemed miserable. I understand we came an hour before closing but they just seemed miserable and sort of ticked off that we were coming an hour before closing.

BEWARE: ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK…read more If my memory serves me well, this is the first time ever that I've given an establishment a 1 star rating ... and these are the reasons why: They were seriously understaffed in the kitchen - specially knowing that it was Mother's Day There were 4 of us and we chose to order one starter between us so that we could save our appetite for the mains The Bang Bang Broccoli took one hour to arrive... yes- ONE HOUR During this time we were told just how many cocktails would not be available because they were out of some ingredients ( and this was at 1:30pm on Mothers Day ) - but I must say they had water available and they served that at lightning speed Then 45 minutes after our appetizer arrived and after asking our server and anyone on the staff that we could speak to, one of the 4 mains arrived...which self respecting restaurant would: 1. Take so long to serve the food with any explanation whatsoever? 2. After such a delay, bring only one of the four dishes that were ordered? By this time we were ready to leave but eventually got the other 3 mains and had them packed and took them back home - since our daughter had to drive back to London to be there at 6pm - which she thought would give all of us enough and more time to have a nice leisurely lunch with a reservation for 1pm ... clearly Community Restaurant had other plans Now comes the kicker... as we were heading out I told one of the servers to please tell the owner that if this is how he/she runs a business it would shut down pretty quickly - to which she replies: You're right, this has been sold and will change hands in 2 weeks Good riddance And no thanks for upsetting my daughter who wanted to make the day special for her mother

Took a good while to make us sit in a half empty restaurant. The food came pretty quickly and service was just OK after that. The interior is nice. The coffee we started was very weak and lukewarm warm. We asked for a refill and the refill was the same as well. Hollandaise Benny was good, the Just egg perhaps cooked from the frozen ready was good. The Impossible/Beyond Sausage was good. The Hollandaise sauce was well made. Disappointed with the home fries quantity - very few. The Chik'n Burger made from Oyster Mushroom was very good. Crunchy outside and shredded mushroom to give a chicken texture. Just too greasy for us. Again the fries very few - the plate looks empty and not filling for us. IMO not good enough value for almost $25 all in. The Chik'n and Waffles, same Chik'n as the burger good. The 3 piece (?) waffles were great. The fries still less, however there some salad as well. Good restaurant, OK service. Food is OK, a bit pricey for what we got.
