This is very similar to bolay to me! I liked it but there were things I hoped for in my bowl that they didn't have or they did but it was a different variation of what I wanted. The space inside is very spacious. My bowl had kale ceasar and spinach salad in it. My veggies were sweet potatoes and green beans and my protein was bbq chicken. I wanted tofu but unlike bolays there tofu is chilled instead of cooked. The fish (salmon) they had looked dry and looked like it was sitting out for a while too. Dressings were kind of weird, coconut ginger and a few others-I didn't bother to get any because the flavor combos didn't sound good so I just came home and put my own dressing on it. What can I say! The food is fresh ! Lol I think what I like about this place the most is that they bolster how everything is cooked with olive oil. I feel now a days everything has seed oils. Conveniently located off Newberry Rd and 62nd Blvd in Gainesville with plenty of Parking. Once I waked in I was greeted by a few friendly staff, I mentioned I was I was a new timer and they were more than welcome to assist. I was recommended to try the Perfect Spicy Rice and boy this rush didn't disappoint! I ordered a 4 Bowl with Roasted Salmon, with Perfect Spice Rice, Spinach Salad, Lemon Garlic Broccoli, and Creamy White Ginger Sauce. The staff had a huge catering event they were repairing for and accidentally brought me a Chicken Tender dish but quickly made it up to me with a Complimentary Drink. For a nice filling lunch today I decided to stop by Fresh Kitchen after my workout. I have seen this place in Tampa before and heard nothing but great things, so of course I was looking forward to my meal. This location is placed right outside of the Oaks Mall and immediately I loved the interior aesthetics. Very tropical and the millennial pink vibe, and also so clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful with helping me choose my bowl options. I picked the 6 bowl which included: 2 bases, 2 veggies, 2 proteins, and one sauce. I got the kale slaw, sweet potato noodles, chickpeas, broccoli, citrus chicken and I substituted a protein for an extra veggie which were the green beans. The crew member recommended the white ginger sauce and it was so tasty. I ended up splitting the bowl with my parents as the bowl portion was more than enough for all of us. Good choice for super healthy foods. No hot coffee for those of us who like our morning coffee. Also, the beverage machine wasn't working so you had your choice of bottled juices (carrots, greens), or canned cold coffee. You walk up to counter and choose what bowls you want. You can get sweet potato noodles, mashed cauliflower, or rice for your starch. Add either veggies (mushrooms, green beans). Add protein like BBQ chicken, sliced beef, etc. we were starved from traveling, so this fit the bill. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it. Fairly pricey for doing all the work yourself. This place makes me smile. Beyond delicious, bright fun food! We have ordered catering on two occasions and everyone was obsessed with the dishes. It's tough to totally nail medium rare/medium steak for 20+ guests and they manage to do it every time. My husband is somewhat of a picky eater and he can't get enough of the chickpeas. Who would have guessed? My faves are the almond chicken, sweet potatoes and white ginger sauce. You can't really go wrong with any of the sauces. It's been a minute Yelp Gainesville Community, but I had a dust off this old account to write a great 1-Star review for my new least favorite restaurant in Gainesville. Fresh Kitchen is by far my least favorite health food location and the food is just plain bad. Let me give yo some details. First, you can do a Four Bowl, which is 2 Base, 1 Veggie, 1 protein and 1 sauce. Or your can do a six bowl which is 2 base, 2 veggie, 2 protein, 1 sauce. This option is like $11.99. So I go with this option. Now you think this would be a lot of food but it is not. I've never been to a place that is so set in small portions, that you literally have a half filled bowl on the end. My base I got the chilled sweet potato noodles and the power rice. The rice was okay. The sweet potato noodles are chilled and prob the best thing I ate. For my veggies I got the mushrooms! First again super small portion, second they were burned! Like not a little burned they were black and you tasted how burnt they were. My partner got the mushrooms too and said the same thing. I also got the green beans which were okay. Proteins. I hope you like chicken! If you want beef or salmon you are paying a lot more for a mediocre bowl. I got the bbq chicken. It was gross, there was cartilage in the meat and made it hard (impossible to chew) I also got the almond chicken which was super dry! If you want to add anything else get the wallet out cause it's gonna cost you. The sauce was coconut sriracha and not bad. But the portion size was so small. The girl who put the chicken in the bowl didn't even put a full scoop. She said they are watched like a hawk and if they give to much they get in trouble. But not even a full scoop went in! The dragon fruit lemonade was gross! No flavor and sugar at all! For two dinners and two drinks it was $38 and then they asked to tip? What am I tipping for you are literally not serving me! It's like chipotle, we don't tip there! You put food in a bowl and were very stingy! I won't be back! Go to Bolay or Vale. Bolay and Vale are cheaper, you don't have to pay extra for beef, you get more food and the staff are way more friendly! read more

The employees were so friendly and the food was fresh. I liked it so much that I returned the next afternoon before leaving town. I ordered the 6 bowl with salmon and tofu, spicy rice, kale, noodles, chickpeas, green beans, and toasted almonds. The strawberry juice fresca juice is amazing! It's not cheap. I was excited for Fresh Kitchen to open up in Gainesville. The service is nice, the interior is cute, and they offer a healthy selection of foods. I've gone a handful of times and I realized that the portion sizes have been inconsistent every time. I usually get a four bowl with the same contents: kale slaw, cauli mash, sweet potatoes, almond chicken, and coconut sriracha. One time I went, the server sifted through the chicken and gave me the smallest pieces of chicken, and the guy after me got the same thing but he got noticeably bigger portions . During the other times I usually see they balance it out with a small piece and a bigger piece. Shoutout to the guy who gave me two bigger chicken tenders the last time I went! Super yummy and leaves you feeling healthy. This place is very similar to Bolay, but a bit more expensive. I got my bowl as part of a catering order, so I got all the toppings I wanted. However, if I was paying, I would not have paid for all of the extras (ex. avocado, tomatoes, salmon). Without these extras, the bowl would not have been as good.
