I tried to get a discount (a shirt is over $4.00) but the young lady told me she couldn't while fluttering and rolling her eyes. Sigh. My husband and I just moved to the Art District Hyattesville MD area and was looking for a close and conviently located dry cleaner; since my husband wears a lot of suits, shirts, ties for work and I own tons of dresses. First time I showed up both doors were locked; so I called the main number and eventually the employee opened the door (with an excuse in reference to using the bathroom; which I can understand) and let me in; dopped off my items and picked up without any issues but then came to drop off some more garments at 8am and the store was closed at 8am when the establisment opens at 7am; I cant trust a business when twice I have found the doors locked during business hours. I show up for my job an hour in advance and need a reliable dry cleaner. Both my husband and I spend a lot of money in dry cleaning; I perfer to drive to Bethesda, MD. I was looking for a pickup dry cleaner and I tried these guys since they were close. I called before I scheduled the online pickup to let them know it was for today and if I need to do anything. The lady sounded a little confused like she didn't really work there but she just said leave it outside. No clue how. In a bag, hanger, IDK. There was a 3 hour window for pickup and no one came by or called. I tried calling but it went to a generic cell phone voicemail and you couldn't even leave a message. Obnoxious and intrusive. They keep coming thru private parking lots and bothering people's cars to stick their unwanted promotional trash under the wipers. Everyone resents the trash so it ends up thrown on the ground, blowing around. The Fresh cleaners never bother to clean up all the litter . Bad for the environment, brings down the appeal of the area by making it look trashy when the town is trying so hard to clean up and be attractive . Avoid this place! I brought two comforters here because they are close to my house for just a standard wash and dry and was charged $100! I balked at the price, and the owner assured me that this was the normal price for the service. I took him at his word and was in a hurry and decided it wasn't worth the hassle to take it somewhere else. When I got home I looked up some other places nearby--I realized just how ripped off I was! Most places charges $20 for the same service. When I came to pick up the items, I discussed this with the owner and he said he had made a mistake and would call me the next day to make a price adjustment. Again, I took him at his word. Shocker-- he never called. This place is a SCAM. Do not go there. Unfortunate because it's the closest dry cleaner to me, but I will not be back and will be warning my neighbors. read more

Great new dry cleaning business in the Arts District Hyattsville. I've been going to a few in the DC area and I have been hesitant to try out ones around Hyattsville because of mediocre reviews. Fresh Dry Cleaners offers a welcome alternative. The dry cleaners has fast service and very friendly staff! The inside is spacious and a little empty right now but I believe they have plans for expanding services to include clothing alterations, shoe shining, and shoe repairs. The prices aren't as cheap as nearby locations but Fresh Dry Cleaners has good service and they'll send your clothes back if you want an outfit pressed more or a stain didn't come out completely. I've taken suits, shirts, ties, and slacks to them. Their location is on the east side of Route 1 / Baltimore Ave (next to Jimmy Johns and across from the car wash). Hours are 7-7 MF and 8-6 Sa. These people are amateurs. Do not come here for dry cleaning. They did not press my shirts at all. All 3 came back with wrinkles and wrinkles. Look at the pictures. I would not recommend these people for any dry cleaning services. read more

I've been here on a number of occasions. The quality of their work has always been great for me. The owner is customer friendly. They've worked on alterations for me in the past as well. I just dropped shirts off to have patches placed on them. I have no worries as I expect the quality to be as usual. read more

TERRIBLE. The location on 40th employs a woman who takes extra long breaks and has conversations on her phone right outside of the building on speaker phone, yelling into the phone. I can hear her conversations from inside my home and unfortunately, they're not even worth listening to. If you don't get your clothes cleaned on time, or they aren't done to your standards, chances are it's because this woman was too busy on her phone. Having this place in a residential area is the absolute worst. read more

I just got a Super Dry Coat that was about $300.00. Black and Yellow real nice. I had an incident and had blood all on the coat mainly all on they yellow part. . It sat for a little over 2 weeks and everyone was saying it won't come out you waited to long. I hit my buddy Pastor Ishmael Wilson and i told him my story and brung my coat in. The service was nice, the workers was sure they would have my coat back brand new and no blood stains.. A week later my coat is back an guess what no blood stains.. I put it right on and walk out. Today I got plenty of comments on how good my coat looks and where i got my spots out at. Oh and did i mention that they text you when your stuff is ready and text you a receipt. I had dry cleaning I have never really thought that a dry cleaners could have a personality or a feel but when they told me "this is what we do for our community" it honestly felt like a home. Nothing else could explain the way the staff overextended themselves to accommodate my needs. I could not be happier with the way things turned out. I just experienced a negative experience at this dry cleaners. The woman staff asked for my phone number, after I gave it to her she said she didn't have anything listed with that number. I started to look through a few fresh dryer cleaners receipts in my wallet. When she saw the receipts it dawned on her that I was an actual customer. She quickly retracted her doubt and asked me if my name started with...and said she found my clothes. So one star so far - dropped off a silk black & white polka dot suit. Went to pick it up and only the skirt was back. Noticed pink stains all through the fabric - thought I was seeing things. Was told the jacket was still being cleaned - they noticed a stain. Strange, there was no stain on it when I dropped it off. Was told to come back in 3 days. Went back to pick it up - still not ready. Hmmmm, what's going on? Sales person there calls the shop and they are still trying to get the stain out. I ask "what color is the stain, pink?" "Why yes", conversation goes from bad to badder. Pink stain that wasn't on the jacket seems to match the new pink stains on the skirt that didn't have any. Was expecting a call back - not a word. I visited the Fresh Dry Cleaners in Capitol Heights, MD for the first time last week. The representative there customer service was horrible. It took 20 - 26 minutes to enter in a (1) 2 piece suit and (1) blouse. As a first time customer I spelled my name to be enter into their database and when I received the receipt not only was my name spelled wrong it listed that I had (2) 2-piece suits. I waited so long I thought to corrected once I return. Also, the (1) 2-piece suit and blouse was very expensive based from other cleaners I have taken my clothes to. The cost on the receipt showed $18.50. When I returned to pick up the suit and blouse the same person who took my order started with the same waiting drill of not knowing how to operate the cash registered she was having problem entering my receipt so I can pay. The individual told me she was having difficulty and will have to contact the manager. I thought instead of using my debit card and I didn't have cash on me to go to the near ATM to pay for it in cash while she contact the manager. When I came back to pay she was speaking with the manager and it appear they had change my receipt to $20 this is why they were having problems entering my info in the database to pay for the items. The manager told the individual to have me pay the $20 instead of what was on my receipt ($18.50) because the altered receipt showed the 2- piece suit as (linen) my receipt showed $18.50 w/o the note (linen). I paid the $20 and told her she should have honored my bill showing $18.50 not the $20. And, they just lost a customer. Horrible service and bad business practice. The next day I received a voicemail from them stating that the manager said I can come back to the place to get $2.00 back and my next visit I'll get 20% off. Of course, I didn't return the call... I am extremely dissatisfied with this place of business. I wanted to support this business; however, I cannot allow myself (or others) to fall victim to the poor service I experienced. I brought in 8 pieces of garments for a professional dry cleaning, but one of my dresses was returned with stains all over the dress. I called and was asked to bring the dress back, which I did, but then a few days later, I received a phone call from the store manager stating the stains were caused by a manufacturing issue on the dress. The store manager stated she spoke with J Crew and J Crew offered to either replace my dress with a new one of my choice (not the exact same dress because it was no longer in stock) or give me a refund for the price of the dress. I chose to refund the cost of the dress, but the dry cleaner refused to refund the cost of dry cleaning the dress to me. The store manager stated it was protocol to withhold my money for 5 days without an explanation of why I needed to wait an 5 days to receive a refund due to an issue the dry cleaning company created from the beginning. I found this suspicious and felt I deserved a refund, but the store manager did not reciprocate these feelings. At the end of the day, I want to make others aware of the bad business practices I experienced at this company to protect others from what I endured. I simply wanted a refund for the dry cleaning ($9.50) and my parking fee ($12.00) for the inconvenience of having me go get a refund on my dress they ruined, in yet, I was advised to jump through hoops to get a resolution which is still not resolved. With all the above stated, I have rated this business 1 star (although I would rate 0 stars for the terrible customer service) This occurred at the store in Capitol Heights. I prefer to support local small businesses but the experience with Fresh Dry Cleaners has me regretting this decision. After requesting $86.00 worth of dry cleaning service and using my new customer discount, I spent $75.05 in this establishment. Three days later I received a call indicating my items were ready for pickup. Five minutes after the call, I walked into the shop and gave my receipt. I asked the attendant was I all set and she said yes. I got halfway to my car with my 16 items in tote when I realized someone was yelling and chasing me down Baltimore avenue. She told me "you didn't pay us." I responded that I paid when I dropped my clothes off on Friday. She said let me check the system and indicated, nope no payment. I just stood there waiting for her to realize the mistake when she asked who did you pay. Finally, she goes to a stack of receipts and sees the receipt from my credit card sale and says oh. No apology, no nothing but most importantly, no repeat business. read more
