I got my wedding dress tailored here and he did an amazing job! The fit was absolutely perfect and made me feel so confident and beautiful. He had a quick turnaround (less than two weeks!) without sacrificing any quality or detail. His craftsmanship is incredibly precise, and he clearly takes pride in his work because my dress had beads and complex lace! Highly recommend to any bride or anyone looking for expert tailoring and exceptional service! Thank you :) read more

Man on the phone was very rude, screaming at me with an attitude. Just asked and simple question he answered a whole lot with out saying anything. Had an attitude when he first picked up too. read more

After losing a significant amount of weight, I was determined to save the dresses I loved instead of replacing them. Finding Lu was one of the best decisions I could have made. He is incredibly talented and truly listens to what you're hoping to achieve. Every dress he has resized for me fits beautifully, and you would never know it had been altered. He has also brought dresses back to life that I thought were ruined because of broken zippers. His craftsmanship is exceptional, and the quality of his work consistently exceeds my expectations. On top of that, he offers dry cleaning, which is such a wonderful convenience to have right in the neighborhood. It's rare to find someone who combines this level of skill, attention to detail, and genuine care for their customers. His work is worth every penny, and I recommend Lu the Custom Tailor without hesitation. If you're looking for someone you can truly trust with your favorite clothes, this is the place to go. read more

Competitive priced. Quick and skillful. Does quality work on leather clothing as well.

I sent a message out to Mr. Lu to see if he was able to replace a zipper on a jumpsuit. He got back to me in 1-2 days. He was able to give me an assessment of the garment and suggested different types of zippers for the jumpsuit. He did a great job. Because he had to order the zipper (the jumpsuit was a very particular color) it took about a week for the alteration. I'm pleased with the alteration read more

WORST service ever. Do not ever come here. If I could give it a zero, I would. He is very rude and NOT on time. Asking me to come a specific day then not being ready. Not only did he rush my work because he wasn't ready but he ended up ruining my pants. Mind you I dropped off my pants 11 days prior to the pick up date. All I had was to hem 2 pairs of pants and cut off some strings off a dress. All of that came up to $55 and some ruined pants. read more

He sewed the slit on two formal dresses for me and did a very good job. I'm glad I tried his business.

Good value and polite service always. We've used Lu since 2019. He's often busy but always reliable

Super friendly and accommodating! I had a small tear in a shirt and Mr. Lu was able to handle it quickly right there as I waited. Good as new! There's a bike rack right outside the building (I biked), but looks like some parking available there too. read more

Lu Custom Tailor - Gown - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Riverdale, Maryland

Got a dress tailored for a wedding and it turned out great! The man working (presumably the owner and tailor) was very kind :)

Mr. Lu was the 4th tailor I went to in order to see if someone could replace the winterized zipper in my 36" length winter coat. All the other tailors told me it was too complicated or that they just wouldn't do winter coats. But, Mr. Lu took on the challenge, went out of his way to find the correct type of zipper, and the craftsmanship is so good that it looks just like new. Price was very fair and reasonable. I highly recommend him! read more

Very personable and detailed when it pertains to custom tailoring as well as hemming. He's very good in making clothes, specifically men's pants, shirts and jackets by hand. God has blessed the hands of this man. Go check him out. read more

The tailor did a *great* job on some mending and alterations that my wife and I needed. We definitely will use his services in the future.

Mr. Lu is an excellent tailor and always willing to facilitate you when he can. I met him through my former tailor Co-Co. Co-Co moved out of the country and he told me that Mr. Lou was the man. He certainly told me nothing but the truth. Mr. Lou has made several suits for me and all of them were made phenomenally. He has excellent eyesight and craftsmanship and based on your body and build, he makes the very best recommendations to ensure that you look well in the clothes and he does it all in a very reasonable time frame. He is a one-man operation but, he is an outstanding Tailor. Give him a call, you won't regret it. read more

Mr. Lu is an excellent tailor and a very nice person. He has altered for me everything from casual pants to a tuxedo to perfection, AND he does it in a reasonable time period. Call him before you go because he's a one man operation. read more
