Went here to get my wedding dress tailored. First, the business is on a second floor. To get to it, you have to go through a set of stairs at the street entrance. There is always a different man hanging out in the entrance. The men always seem to be in some kind of mental health crisis. It didn't feel safe. Second, I was very disappointed with the quality of the tailoring. The fabric was puckering throughout, there was a tear in the back of the dress, he forgot to add a bustle button (and seemed unfamiliar with anything but the basic bustle style), and he took our internal hooks for the straps even though I'd asked him to keep them. I recommend you look elsewhere, especially because the pricing is too expensive for the low quality work. read more

I found this business on Yelp. I need a really good tailor and received a few pieces from my favorite Nigerian designer. My problem is that I'm short lol. So I took them to him and he was very welcoming. His shop was clean and he immediately addressed me when I walked in. These pants and skirt were sooooo long. He knew exactly what I needed, I paid him and set a time for pickup! The onlyyyyyyy downsides that I have is the cost was much more expensive that I'm used to ($185) for just hemming and pickup was a month out. When I arrived for my appointment, he had forgotten about it and asked me to come back later. When I arrived later, he was finishing up the hem on my pants. I was ok with that buttttttt I felt as if he could do my pants on the spot there was no need for it to have taken a month. But hey...the work was great so no complaints! read more

My beautiful wedding dress had 6 holes in it after a night of celebrating and dancing. I was really nervous it could not be fixed but Sisay did an amazing job, every single hole was repaired and you could not tell it had any issues before. It was absolutely perfection! I also took in a pair of jeans and had 6 inches cut off with original bottom hemming which looks completely original, no seems showing at all. Sisay is fantastic! He is personable, clearly has a love for designing clothing, and is an incredible tailor. On top of all that, his prices are half what other wedding tailors charge! He altered two wedding dresses for me, one a modern Chinese wedding dress. The Chinese wedding dress had looked like a bag on me, but Sisay shortened the length and brought in the sleeves and waist, even adding darts to give the dress shape. For the other dress, Sisay shortened the back panels and salvaged a hem that another tailor had cut poorly. Both dresses fit perfectly when I picked them up, and the tailoring was flawless. I brought my son's North face jacket in because the zipper was broken and although North face has a lifetime guarantee on their products it would have taken 6 weeks to 2 months for the coat to be repaired. I had the coat back in one week and the zipper was replaced with one that works much better than anything North face would have done I am sure. Sisay does incredible work. The seam where the zipper was replaced was so perfect it would be impossible to tell it had be replaced. I highly recommend Mr. Sisay.
